I know that soda isn't exactly fine dining, but I have a penchant for trying every kind I can get my hands on. Post good sodas, sodas unique to your location, rare sodas, ect.
>>6353648
Rare, highly desirable. Can be had online for a high price

this is from NC, my home. A fast food joint called Cook Out sells this with vanilla softserve icecream for the same price as a soda.

Passion fruit fanta. Not that great but interesting as there aren't many passion fruit soft drinks.

the whole orca beverages storefront contains many classics I've heard of but never tried. I know one day I'm gonna get drunk and order a $40 12-pack

a spanish favorite, this is made by mixing a mildly sweet version of Sprite called Casera with cheap red wine

>>6353682
taco bell has a bunch of decent sodas that you can't get elsewhere, which is really frustrating. This Sangria Mountain Dew is good, not as sweet as your typical mountain dew, though I think it is made with cranberries to give it that fruity, yet bitter flare.
>>6353688
>really frustrating
I'm picturing all kinds of scenarios where you're getting super flustered about mtn. dew
>>6353678
also red wine with coke.
In Germany, you can get cola and beer mix. its actually really good.
>>6353648
Blenheim's Ginger Ale from SC. The pink top is the spicy one and it's my favorite.
I'm not sure what availability is like in other areas but I love me some Green River. Also floats and milkshakes made with it are amazing.

Best soda in the world.
Honestly, I've never in my entire life had a better tasting beverage than really cold Trocadero.

If you can get your hands on some Baikal, Tarhun, Chernika or other Russian sodas, I'd highly recommend it. Baikal particularly.
>>6353792
Are you counting malts? Because these are my second vice, right after booze.
Pineapple and Strawberry masterace.
any good *~~<french lemonade>~~* recommendations? I remember staying at a English French lady's house and having some lemonade she got from france. It was SOOO GOOD mm! Glass bottles.

But the description doesn't do it justice at all.
I genuinely have never tasted a better drink.

I don't know if I've had any Russian malt sodas, actually. Like kvass? I've had kvass, the storebought stuff is bad but the fresh stuff is amazing

I will never forget spending an entire winter in Russia alone and depressed, debating jumping in front of the 12A bus, and how good it felt when spring came and we could play basketball outside and drink kvass straight out of the barrel.

Mandarin Jarritos are pretty fucking good and apparently seems to be sold in a lot of places, if you're in the USA. I buy them a lot at Food Lion in the Foreign Food aisle.
Also, I don't know if it counts but "Tonic Water with Lime" by Polar is pretty fucking good. I had been buying tons of them and drinking it almost every few days, but I think the Quinine was starting to give me the shakes so I stopped after a month or two.
Big Peach soda. Big Red stuff is generally hard to find anywhere except for the American South, and even in the south, Big Peach is pretty hard to pin down. If you can find it, it's a sweet, pink, peachy soda that's pretty easy to throw down really quick. For about one summer when I was about 10, when my local grocery store actually stocked this stuff, Big Peach was my lifeblood.
>>6354025
how much did you drink everyday?
>>6354028
Like, 5 or 6 cans a day. Way too much for any child to drink. I even started mowing lawns and walking dogs to support my Big Peach habit after my mother stopped buying it for me.
>>6353837
Man I used to doubt that stuff for being juggalo shit, then last summer I had about a buck in change in my cup holder and was painfully thirsty after a delivering a package and drinking one of the blue ones made me feel like a Old timey scientist must have felt when dicovering a new wonder drug tonic.
>>6354031
>I even started mowing lawns and walking dogs to support my Big Peach habit after my mother stopped buying it for me.
haha 4chan man

Where do you live? I live in the Southwest and it's at every grocery store. Haven't seen Big Peach though and I'm kind of interested.

Y'know, I noticed a few people on /ck/ talking about how DNL was their favorite soda because it was a lemon-lime soda balanced toward lime, and I'm wondering whether Green River would be a good substitute for that since that's exactly what Green River is.
I never tried DNL or else I'd know for sure.
Ramune is godly
>>6353648
Anyone had Dandelion and Burdock before? I grew up drinking it because it's all my grandparents would ever buy.
I don't think it exists outside of Bongland though
>>6354198
There's a gourmet soda in the US called Feintimans that makes a dandelion & burdock soda as well. It's pretty good. I love burdock root, and a little dandelion is nice, although the bitterness can be overwhelming.

Birch beer is king of all soft drinks
Faygo Peach is my favorite, peach is my favorite flavor of everything when offered and my favorite fruit in general, I wish more things were peach flavored....but Faygo Peach, peach rings, and peach dum dums are all number 1 for me
Also Faygo's Pineapple-Orange flavor is pretty good too, Big K also has a decent one of those if you have Krogers around you
It's probably very difficult to find outside of scotland, but this is honestly GOAT soda.
>>6353648
Rock & Rye is good
I am a strong advocate of Virgil's Root Beer. Dare I say, it is the most godly root beer in the world and if you can track down a bottle (although a bit pricey for this particular one), don't just drink it... SAVOR it
>>6354733
Also, from my general experience, Virgil's sodas are rather hard to come by (generally only sold at specialty/health food stores here in the US)
>>6353648
Melon Fanta is the best soda I've had in the 8 countries I've been to (America, Canada, UAE, China, Japan, Turkey, Egypt, Oman)
I make it a point to try every single new soda I come across. China was the best for sheer number of unique flavors, America is second, but Japan has the rest of the world beat with Melon Fanta. Melon Fanta floats are also the only floats I like as well. I currently live in Japan and they get some unique seasonal flavors but most aren't really worth drinking more than once. The country is pretty lacking when it comes to variety otherwise.
>>6354733
I think Virgil's is maybe the worst root beer I've tried.
>>6353648
try this
from the eastern US and I'm in Michigan but bought some at a hardware store
nothing else like it and it was the most popular pop in the US at one time
tastes funky

Sioux City Sasparilla
Between this and Pocari Sweat are my favorite Korean soft drinks.
>>6354013
Local Ralph's has been stocking these, I'm stoked. They're cheap too.
For a while 7-11 was carrying mandarin and tamarind Jarritos in plastic bottles, but they seem to have since dropped them (at least locally). They were expensive anyway.
Mandarin is great, but the mango and guava flavors are even better. Unfortunately I've had a hard time finding them, even in Mexican grocery stores.
>mom introduces me to this because her dad loved it
>can't find it anywhere outside of the deep south unless you order online
;_; I miss this shit

>>6355289
it tastes like hippos in love?
Anyone from Kentucky would probably recognize this
Ginger and citrus soda basically
I am Russian but my wife is Indian. They have this one owned by CocaCola now called thumbs up. I love that stuff. Mixed with Rum, it is even better.
This is gazoza, I'm not entirely sure on the flavors in it, but the best I can describe it is as bubblegum with a hint of banana. It's insanely delicious and can be found throughout Greece. This brand, Gerani, specifically can only be found in the Chania region of Crete, Greece. It's the goat brand for gazoza. They also make biral (rootbeer-esque), and portokaladia (orange-soda), that are equally delicious.
>>6353648
I actually like this one a lot myself. Smells like perfume, but has a nice light, citrusy kind of taste
>>6356845
I've seen these at the store and contemplated getting the cucumber soda a few times. Is it not overly sweet?
>>6356850
I wouldn't know. I've only ever had the lavender one. My brother really likes the cucumber one, but I'm just not a fan of cucumber in general, so I've never drank it
>>6353670
I lived in Maine for the first 20 years of my life, and never knew that moxie wasn't as widely available as coke or Pepsi in the whole rest of the country. Now, I order it online, but it just isn't the same
>>6356869
Was the lavender one very sweet though? I'm sure the other varieties would be similar in sweetness.
>>6356878
It's kind of hard to explain. When you first taste it, it's a very fizzy, kind of sour tang, like lemon or lime, but a sweet aftertaste, though I'm not sure if I would say overly sweet.
>>6353648
Went to peru as a kid and really liked this soda. Was suprised to see them sell it at my local target actually.
This is in my super market. Never seen it anywhere else.
It's pretty good.

>>6354718
Found it here in Sweden. Honestly it tasted way better than I thought it would. Wouldn't buy it again though.
My favourite soda is a Swedish christmas soda called julmust. It's a soda made from juniper berries that was supposed to be an alternative to christmas beer. So it contains a small amount of malt and hop extract. This one in particular is aged on oak barrels for 6 months.
>>6358084
doesn't taste like cola, tastes kinda bubble gum like. Somewhat similar to irn bru but without some of irn bru's subtle bitterness
>>6358116
does anyone know a good site for buying this in freedomstan?
If you're from Sacramento Ca, and you've never had river city root beer, just kill you'reself, cause you don't know what your missing out on.
this delicious bastard right here, everything in bongland is lemon flavoured and ignores the superior lime
also this which is only available in shops where there's a large irish population nearby.
like non alcoholic, non sickly cider
>>6353792
Fuck Baikal is so good, but so fucking expensive here, atleast for a bottle like that
Cheap one is just terrible though
Discontinued years ago. Miss it dearly.
This shit is delicious if you can find it, got a bottle in my fridge right now
>>6358470
That stuff was SO good!! I adored it. But anyone else who dipped into the 12pk in my house abhorred it. Some couldn't finish more than one sip or two before giving up. I didn't get it. If I saw it come back to the shelves, I'd probably hoard a good dozen of them. I'd probably do the same thing if they made a special release of the original recipe Vernors that had that dry ginger bite and oomph of oak aging.
My favorites are Mr. Q Cucumber (very good for hot summer days) and Bundaberg Ginger Beer.
>>6358470
I just drank this today.
>>6358521
>I just drank this today.
Hrm, I thought it was seasonal, but when that guy said years ago, I assumed I had lot a bit of time, hah. Where did you buy yours? Maybe I need a membership to find this stuff again or a flight? Maybe my bottler won't be having it back? :o
>>6358521
Where do you live? I haven't seen it in stores in at least 2-3 years.
>>6354630
Dude, that's not rare. I live in a small midwestern city, and all the Indian and Middle Eastern grocery stores carry this.
this will always be the GOAT soda.
I have to go all the way to Texas to get this.
Doesn't get better than this.
For decades this was the most popular soda by far in Brazil, so popular that it's name was a synonym for soda. Coca Cola had a hard time taking their place on top and ended creating their own version of the drink.
The flavor is based on an Amazonian fruit of the same name.
>>6359247
It's also really fucking good
>>6359247

A delicacy from Brazil, some hate it, some love it. Also dat name
Fentimans, so glad a few other people enjoy it.
It's becoming scares in some places in Canada. I used to be able to find it at Sobeys, but they stopped carrying it. And not the "hipster"/organic grocers has stopped carrying it.they had all the flavours before.
I drink Schweppes™ Agrum, you drink cum.
>>6359366
Oh yeah, Coca Cola couldn't defeat it so they bought it.
