eh just start doing it from a blog that has pics of the steps so you get a better idea of technique

I think challah dough is pretty easy to work with, is an easy recipe overall, and is slightly sweet with a lot of variations.
A really important technique to remember for all bread making is the window pane test. Heres a simple fill-in http://www.thekitchn.com/bakers-techniques-how-to-do-th-70784
Every so often there is a bread thread here so be on the look out

use soft, room-temperature butter.. not melted, not cold/solid.
aside from that, as long as you're able to follow a recipe, you're gonna be able to bake. baking is a science, and cooking is more of a skill than following a recipe.
both are difficult to really master, but in different ways.

Seriously the Internet can be one giant cook book
When I went vegetarian I made a pinterest just because I knew literally nothing about it and knew I was going to need recipes. It worked.

for shit like baking it helps to understand some of the science behind the recipes.
a book like "the professional chef" is a solid thing to have around for a reference

Same here kek
I started cooking around the time he started putting out his first books, and for the complete beginner I'll still stand behind AB, 100%.
The hardest part about baking is learning how to work with dough (everything else is pretty much just following recipes) and for that part it's best to watch videos and practice.
