Hello my fellow /ck/ Americans. I'm visiting New York in August and have no idea about the local cuisine. I knew about that Jew Deli i saw on TV and thats it. im fucking clueless. What are the must have food on New York? a specific name is very much appreciated.

I'm an aussie and I spent a few weeks in New York, basically just walked around looking for good food the whole time. American food on the whole is much nicer than Australian imo, so my tastes might be a little skewed. I basically just googled lists of the best burgers or whatever in nyc.
My favourite was the steakhouse burger at a place called The Brindle Room in the lower east side. Best burger I've had in my life hands down

forgot to mention that im Indonesian. Really used to flags i forgot its not /int/ nor /pol/. I like food with various herbs and spices aka "Rich" not really into spicy food because i find american hot sauce, siracha, mexican hot sauce is repulsive.

Eater NY is no joke. If I were to type up my own list there'd be major overlap. But here are a few for you off the cuff:
Mexican at Downtown Bakery
Hot dogs at Papaya King (one sauerkraut and mustard, one with Greek onions)
Fancy beer and a pork belly taco at Jimmy's #43
Bagel with a schmear and Nova at Russ and Daughters Cafe
Pizza at Lombadri's
Ringer:
Take the B train to Coney Island, pay $9 to ride the Cyclone, then have Georgian food at Toné Café. It will kill half a day, but you'll thank me later.
