Why do people say "Never trust a skinny chef?" I know there are fat people who can cook out there but it seems like even if you leave out Martha Stewart/Food Network type garbage most famous or talented chefs are in decent shape.
>>7187957
You are a literal fucking retard if you can't figure that joke out.
Fuck you for getting me to reply to your underage ass.
>>7187957
Famous is the keyword nigger, think about that and let it sink in.
I know plenty of talented and non famouse chefs and most are at least 20lbs overweight
There is literally no correlation between a chef's taste and/or skill and how much he eats.
Any good chef should be tasting food all day long, but also burning even more calories running around getting things done.
I'M GONNA NEED A ONE WAY TICKET TO FLAVOR TOWN STAT!
it shows a thick ribeye on the picture but the ribeyes they sell are not thick.
>>7187947
Yeah, it's paper thin. I hear they are meat glued floor scraps.

Post Menu Sets & Recipes from Restaurants like Katsuya & Beso's in Los Angeles
Practice and paying your time in hard labor are the only real "secrets". For home cooks buy the best ingredients you can, avoid Rachel ray products and only get k ware at reputable kitchen stores, organization is massively important. Taste everything, read as much as you can about cooking and immerse yourself in it & you'll be a much better natural cook than by copying from others
the secret ingredient is probably MORE SALT

That looks like some average american sushi made by koreans.
Hey /ck/
i want to get a book that gets me more into cooking, so not just a recipe collection but something that teaches basic and techniques. Any recommendations?
I often cook for friends and family and they love the things i cook but i really want to improve myself and be well versed in the fundamentals
Honestly, AB's first book is a solid intro to cooking techniques without being a textbook, and all the recipes I've tried out of it came out great.

The Flavor Bible
Culinary Artistry

>AB's first book
as in alton brown?
How should I prepare frozen ("iced glazed") chicken breasts?
they are boneless and skinless
Do I brine? Defrost? Help
>>7187435
microwave them for 6 minutes, put them in blender, pour blended content into pastry bag, shove bag in ass, squeeze
Check the catalog.

Then shit it out like a sausage maker, chicken sausage
I'll have a lambic please
>Can really taste the "sweaty horse blanket" and "Barnyard"- yummy!
I don't know what kind of lambics you drink, but I've never had one that tastes like a sweaty horse blanket or a barnyard. But hey, if that's your thing, fair enough.
>>7187237
>ive never had a lambic so ill read about it and shitpost
>>7187237
Those are honestly appealing in the right amounts and with the right complements.
/ck/, I've never tried raisin bread. Give me your best raisin bread recipes. The sweeter and more buttery, the better.
raisins are dry so it should be pretty simple. Even just adding raisins to regular dough should do the trick.
What are some unique foods that /ck/ has during the Christmas season? I'm of German decent and every year I get a Dresden stollen.
>>7187054
>no marzipan in the middle
Savage.
>>7187054
Keep them locked up and no one will steal your Dresdens
keep them underground and you wont get your dresdens bombed
hello /ck/,
I can't bother to cook everyday and I stopped eating any kind of frozen meals which used to be everything I ate, especially frozen pizza.
since then Ive lost quite a bit of weight which I dont want to since my weight before was healthy and all I can really think of eating that goes fast and isnt unhealthy is whole grain bread with different toppings. and salads.
can you recommend me some helathy snacks that aren't super low on calories?
Banana split
>>7187061
as in the ice cream? I doubt thats healthy
>>7187074
If you know what is healthy, then just eat that, but more of it
>put frozen pizza in oven
>realize heating element is broken and your pizza is cold
>put frozen pizza in a pan and cook it
>realize you spent too long looking for a new heating element and now your pizza is burning
>extinguish
>awkwardly scrape the stuff that's still good (cheese, toppings, etc) onto a plate
>give it a name
enjoy

and you are clearly 12, so you can fuck off too.
Preheating is not optional, anon.
When's the last time you made French bread pizza?
Pic related. I threw this together last night since I realized I had everything needed for it. It was pretty good!
never. but you gave me a good idea for later.
That's not pizza
That's just a halfassed toasted open faced sandwich
Couldn't even melt the cheese all the way?
>>7186935
Well, that's the problem with French bread pizza. The dough itself is already cooked. So you can only leave it in the oven so long before it burns, and usually this means you won't get nicely browned cheese like you have on a regular pizza.
Anything better than these rolled in butter? Nah
If you're going to be a fat fuck, at least eat better tasting fat fuck things.
>>7186853
Oh fuck wait those are breadsticks? I thought you were rolling pretzel sticks in butter but yeah that's decent.
What's the longest you've ever spent making a single dish?
(Logistics as in finding and fetching the ingredients don't calculate in)
Slow cooked pork for 12 hours.
Smoked chicken for 24 hours.
