Does anyone brew here?
I'm thinking about getting some supplies and whipping up some hard apple cider. It's supposed to be an easy beginner thing.
>decent apple cider
>add some honey
>pitch yeast of choice
>proper air-lock
>basic brewing sanitization
>wait
Yeah, it's easy.

Yep I've already read guides. Gonna do it soon. Was just wondering about general experiences.

I've brewed my own beers and mead.
Ask away.
Hey /ck/, what do you think of Thai food? Personally I think Pad Thai is their only good dish. The Chinese do fried rice better, and the Indians do curry better. Are there any other iconic Thai dishes I'm missing?
I like Tom Yum soup when it's made with high quality ingredients.
No OP, you nailed it. Only three Thai dishes exist, and the only worth eating is the one with the word "Thai" in it.
Nah Thai curry isn't worse than Indian curry. It's fundamentally different. One uses milk as a base while the other uses coconut milk. Also try Larb, it's pretty good
Make some italian bread and put some salt on it. Tastes pretty good if you ask me.
Pic related, salted bread.
I usually just spread salted butter on my italian bread.
Tastes even better than just putting salt on it if you ask me.
That is not italian

What is the best Italian Dessert for home cooking /ck/?
I'm leaning towards trying zuccotto
Anything better? Tiramisu? Florentines?
I am from Italy and I detest most of our desserts. We make good chocolates and sweets, though.
For cakes, I'd go with a Germanic country. All jokes aside, those fuckers know their way around an oven.
If I'm forced to pick an Italian one, Italian-style apple pie is pretty okay. Neapolitan zeppole/graffe are good, too. Most of the rest can go suck a shit.

What else can I do with Spaghetti Sauce besides slappin' it in some spaghetti?
I made a giant pot of homemade spaghetti sauce, enough to last a month frozen.
Problem is, I'm getting sick of spaghetti fast.
I was thinking of cooking it with chicken or beef or something.
Lasagna
Chicken/eggplant parmesan
Chicken cacciatore
Sausage with peppers, onions, mushrooms and tomato sauce
Mussels/clams marinara
Combine some with water or stock and make soup, like minestrone
Tomato soup
Mix with some rice and sausage/beef/pork/chicken and vegetables to make stuffed peppers or cabbage rolls
Pizza/calzone/stromboli
Add cream and some vodka for a vodka sauce for a change.
Add some more stuff to it and use it as a marinade for pork/chicken
Sloppy joes
All I can think of off the top of my head at the moment.
Freeze in ice cube tray and deep fry frozen cubes. very authentic.

Look up recipes for those things.
Make list of ingredients in the recipes.
Does anyone know where to buy highly polished rice (50-70%) for sake in the UK?
Buy a tumbler
Polish your own damn rice

They sell koji kin, but not rice for sake sadly...
I've been sick these past few days /ck/, and I'm finally well enough to cook again.
Give me your best chicken noodle soup recipe, or any feel-good recipes for when you're under the weather.
Not really a full recipe, but don't be one of those big pussies who just uses noddles and stuff in chicken broth.
Have big fucking pieces of actual chicken meat in the soup, or gtfo.
How I do it.
Heat up pan, oil up pan
Insert chicken thighs sans bones and skin
brown up on both sides
add chopped garlic, ginger and chili
deglaze with soy sauce and fish sauce
add liquid (I just use water, but it will taste watery. Use a mixture of wine and stock/broth instead but watch the salt as it will be quite salty)
let bubble until the thighs are the level of doneness and consistency you want, you usually want them to be easily tearable.
boil noodles, add into a cup
add torn up chicken pieces
add liquid from the pan
serve with fresh...

You don't deserve it and you never will.
I think my cooking habits have started to affect my daily life.
>be me
>be last night
>hungry for no reason
>decide to gead down to kitchen for a snack
>grab a few crackers
>find some cheese
>notice the stir fry beef I forgot to cook yesterday still in the fridge
>hmmm

It took you an hour to saute beef and vegetables and put them in a pita?
Find myself not on the computer as much as I used to be now that I cook meals everyday instead of getting take out and shit. I'm actually a happier person now. On Sunday I cook 5 days worth of meals for my M-F job for lunch, then cook dinner everyday. Getting pretty good in the kitchen.

It took me an hour to pytz around the kitchen then cook whatever it was I decided to eat.
Pasta carbona is superior to ostrich and beef.
>>7193182
>carbona
>STILL liking ostrich's meat
Beef is way superior
nah too cheap

This. I never eat animals that designers haven't made just for my individual body.

Did you have to start a new thread?
This is as bad as YLYL threads in /b/.

Not everybody is made of money, anon. We all have to cook, and any seasonings are better than none.
Smoked paprika is so dope. I put it on any meat at this point.
cayenne is better t.b.h.
