Do you have any specialty christmas foods?
Carrot and swede-puddings are pretty nice.
Mostly Greek food.
Pork (along with common things like turkey and ham)
r8 my breakfast
Cooking the roast chicken for Christmas lunch.
What is your perfect herb brush for basting?
Already have fresh bay leaves and rosemary from the garden.
>go to Costco on Thanksgiving
Canadian Thanksgiving, so October
>walk by rotisserie chicken stand
>see long ass lineup of immigrants waiting for chicken
I mean long ass. There must have been 30 people, each with a giant Costco trolley. The thing went on forever.
>watch as each immigrant walks away with two chickens.
Do these immigrants think that getting a chicken on Thanksgiving will make them Canadian?...

I want to make some Herb-Crusted Brill (pic semi-related), whats your favourite recipe?
Should I dip the fish in eggs to make the crust stick?
I saw a video of gordon ramsay where he just loosely drops the crust on top, is that the best way?
Scrambles eggs with bacon

My mom always gives me candy bars when I come to check in on her and dad. For Christmas, she gave me a ton of chocolate and desu, I can't eat a lot of the stuff or else I'm going to end up throwing up. I had an idea to preserve all the chocolate and candy bars for either eating at my own pace, or to use in baking for friends or as desserts at the local food bank. Is there any way to preserve them?
I need to make a chocolate cake.
But I dont want to make your usual boring chocolate cake.
Give me a recipe for a dank ass cake that contains chocolate.
Idk about you guys, but I fucking love macaroni and mashed potatoes mixed together.
What the fuck should I make for dinner tomorrow night, /ck/?
What are your go-to foods when youre feeling down?
For me its something as simple as a fresh bread from the bakery and a block of cheese or butter. Ironically I eat it all the time (muh depressions) but am a skinnyfag
Lamb Vindaloo with garlic naan.
The nearest place that does a good one is about an hour away and pricey, so I only go there when I'm feeling particularly down and out.
I recomment spicy foods when feeling depressed. The capsaicin will force endophine production.
So I'm in Japan and I am organizing a Christmas party for Friday. I sent a friend out to pick a cake we can eat in 2 days, and he just came back with a fucking strawberry shortcake that is going to be runny as fuck by then.
Is there anyway I can store this thing? Can you freeze strawberry shortcake?
I don't know anything about cake but yeah you can freeze it for now
source: my daddy works in inventory control and the store chain freezes almost all it's deserts before they end up in the stores
So /ck/, do you think it would be possible to smoke meat using coconut shell? Would it impart a bad flavor? Since people commonly use fruit tree woods, I assume this would work too
Hey guys, I just got some Dry Aged Filet Mignon. How should I cook it?
Jesus christ, are you going to eat those things?
Anyway, roast filet in over at low temp until just past rare.
Finish by searing very briefly on an insanely hot pan; you should end up right at a medium rare throughout with a great crust.
I started making a treat for Christmas and I've run into a bit of a wall. I've melted down some white chocolate in a double-boiler and got thru coating about 10 chocolate truffles before the white chocolate began to quickly turn into a doughy texture, kind of like mashed potatoes if you like them on the firmer side.
I can't work with it like this and I'm not sure on my next step. What did I do wrong? How do I fix this?
