Is rice still good if it has been in the fridge for 5 days? I've been hearing that it's dangerous to eat old rice, but is it just a meme?
>>7821303
Only one way to find out, OP!
>>7821309
What if I end up ded, my dear anonymous friend?
>>7821319
Then you'll know that eating old rice is a bad idea.
Consider making a simple tuna salad with fresh tuna instead of canned
would the end result be a delicious tuna salad the canned variety could never compete with
or would it be exactly the same and I have just squandered an expensive ingredient when a cheap one would be sufficient?
Mistake
The only salad that should be made with fresh tuna is poke
Fuck that, if you're going to shill out for good tuna savor it. Do not dilute the experience with a bunch of bullshit. Learn how to cook well or how make sushi if you want to appreciate good tuna.
>>7821507
but there isn't much better than a nice tuna salad sandwich on toasted white bread with a glass of milk
Hiya buddays, how often do you enjoy a PB&J?
>>7821187
Never, since I'm not a trailer trash piece of shit.
>>7821187
I do everyone once in a while
I usually get peanut butter and jam from Trader Joe's
Their pb&j has a lot less sugar than the stuff you get from grocery stores.
about three times a week. it's hilarious forcing people at potbelly's to make it during a lunch-time rush. they have to go to a separate station and do so much cleaning after. i can feel their hatred towards me when i order, during the order, and after. sometimes i make it an elvis, just to make them even more angry to hunt down a banana.
I just tried the japanese ice coffee method.
I thought it would just be meme food, but this is a great cup of coffee. Doesn't taste at all like if you just let coffee cool down, or threw ice in it. Anyone know why this works, but chilling the coffee after brewing tastes like shit?
>"""""""""japanese""""""""" iced coffee method
lol
we've been doing that in italy since the early 20th century. what makes it suddenly japanese?
>>7821048
I don't fucking know. You think I came up with the term? That's why I thought it was meme food.
>>7821040
Couls you hook me up with the recipe you followed?
Is pink salt actually good, or is it a meme?
>>7820863
>classic image.jpg
>classic "memes are things I don't like"
>>7820863
It makes for a nice presentation, and has kind of a little bit of flavor to it more than regular salt does. But it's also a meme.
>>7820863
Probably more likely a meme. Just like that whole Gluten Free bullshit.
Hey co/ck/s!
I recently made raspberry marshmallows using fresh raspberries (about 1/3 fruit volume before puffing), and they turned out great, the texture is alot smoother than commercial shit and if you toast them over the fire the roasted raspberry flavour is really really tasty.
Now I have ingredients to make either
>Strawberry
>Mango
>Blueberry
Which should I do next?
You can suggest novel ideas but I won't be able to post results in a few hours...
Strawberry sounds good, and I usually prefer other flavors.
Mango my man. Add it to jello or Ice cream or something.
All of those would be top in a parfait or something as well.
>>7820747
make curry marshmellows. or try to get the flavor of some classic chicago deep dish in those motherfuckers. you will be /ck/ approved.
How long does kimchi last?
I know it's fermented, but does it ever expire?
I've had a sealed package of kimchi (homemade) in my fridge for about 6 months, is it good still?
Open it and find out, your fridge is right fucking there.
>>7820737
but kimchi is already technically "bad"
How do you know if something that already kinda smells and looks like shit is bad?
>>7820692
YES. it's a preserve. depending on your taste you will want to keep it in your fridge for 2-3 months before eating it anyway (assuming it is made fresh)
What does /ck/ think of Goya?
goza?
>>7820669
Fucking hate the section at my grocery store I stock for. It's the most slow selling shit in that aisle. That, and the El Mex brand that plagues that aisle as well.
But... I did buy a box of Goya seasoning for some chicken wingettes I fried up. It was actually some pretty good seasoning.
This shit is god tier
I'm ordering food tonight, what should I get? Chinese, pizza, kebab, Indian? What's your go to takeaway order?
Pizza or burrito
curry
Oh mate it has to be Chinese
Roast duck chop suey, chips, chicken balls and some chicken soup with some BBQ sauce
Plus whats better than some nice leftovers for breakfast on monday?
>Horrible problems with reflux this week
>Haven't eaten since Friday
>I've been getting these horrible attacks of a squeezing feeling in my chest even when not eating
I'm going to the doctor Monday, but what the hell do I do in the meantime /ck/?
>>7820495
Buy an H2 antagonist like ranitidiness and stop being fat.
I have to take a proton pump inhibitor every day because of my GERD. I have a hiatal hernia. Trying to avoid throat cancer here.
I suggest you try the same OP. Take one in the morning 30 minutes before you eat. Of course, since tomorrow you see the doctor I'm sure he will have a solution.
If your stomach is going to hurt anyways you might as well get a Pizza Hut Big Box Dinner.
Who has the best buffet in Vegas?
>>7820485
I enjoyed the bellagio's when I was there. Get there early or there's a queue.
I'm going to Vegas in a few weeks and plan on going to the sterling brunch at Bally's
Excalibur has, by far, the saddest array of restaurants on the strip. Take the escalator up from the casino level and you'll be met with the most depressing fucking thing in vegas.
Found this outside. Is this safe to eat?
It's some kind of bramble fruit. It's edible, but it looks underripe.
>>7820453
that's a raspberry. youll die if youre allergic, otherwise it's fine.
Surely you jest?
What did you dinner today?
For me it was chicken with a lemon sauce made with mustard, honey, garlic and parsley and some rustic potatoes.
It was really good!
Mind giving me the recipe? i'd like to make some myself, thanks for providing the ingredients but i would like to know the measurements and all, overall looks great
>>7820616
Of course I can, anon.
First I mix, for three people. it was like 2.2 lbs of chicken breast:
1 and 1/2 spoon of dijonn mustard
1 and 1/2 spoon of honey
the juice of one lemon (I used a lemon with a lot of juice, if you need it use two or three. Some lemons are pretty dry)
1 garlic clove
Some parsley
and you can add any seasoning that you like. I used a mix of cinnamon, ginger, and some other stuff that i can't remember now.
Then I mix it all with a hand mixer in a bowl and add it to the chicken cut in middle cubes. I put it in the fridge while i prepared the potatoes, like 20 minutes but you can marinate it the night before or even a few days.
After that, I cut some onions (I used one onion every 2/3 people. We were three some I used 2 middle onions), a garlic clove and some leek.
I took the chicken out of the fridge, put some olive oil in a hot pan and I sealed the chicken with a strong fire. Reserve the marinate for the sauce.
When the chicken is seal, remove it of the pan, add some olive oil again put the fire in middle and add the onions, the leek and the garlic glove. I used some white wine to remove all the things that the chicken left in the pan (I dont know how to said this in english but I'm sure that this action have a name) and then add what you use to marinate the chicken. When the onion is well done, add some flour. After this i just use hot water because i didnt have any broth, but you can use some chicken or vegetable broth and i stir it. Now you will see what is going to be the sauce. When all the flou r is dissolved add the chicken again and cook it until the sauce have a good consistency.
And thats all!
Pic is the chicken ready
I have 4 empty mason jars, what should I make in them? Hard mode: No sauerkraut.
Dill Pickles
sauerkraut
Pickled green beans with garlic & dill
How do I clean a non-stick pan without fucking up the nonstick surface?
>>7820369
with soap and water and one of those blue no-scratch sponges, use the sponge side, not the scratchy side if you want to be extra careful.
>>7820369
There are soft bristle dish brushes, although I just use the cheapest natural bristle brushes (the round wooden ones) and they still seem to last for years. Mostly I just use water and wipe it out with a paper towel.
>give pan to maid
>you ruin it, back to Guatemala for you!
>pan is cleaned perfectly
