Is sriracha a black thing?
It's a Thai thing popularized in the US by a company started by Vietnamese-Chinese immigrants that's been around for decades but has only just reached flyover land so is hailed as a "meme food", despite having been ubiquitous for the lifespan of most people posting on /ck/.
>MFW there are people on /ck/ still salty that their memefood is called out for what it is and posting about it.
so this is basically a soup where the broth is in the middle of a small party of people and the ingredients are individually cooked by one of these people when eating that particular item is desired?
how fucking retarded is that?
why not toss all the ingredients into a pot with the broth and serve it like a normal soup?
You get to pick what you want to eat. Cook it to the desired doneness. Chill and socialize while eating. Not have to deal with ingrediants left in a boiling soup from the start of the meal that starts to boil into a pile of dog food mush or overcooked leather. Hmmm... I wonder why....
this would imply that conventional soups are shit, why they are not
soups in asian cuisine are generally very tasty and this hot pot whatever just appears to be a silly dismantled soup that everybody shares
you can chill and socialize while eating pretty much anything but i guess the gist is that you are literally eating one thing with everyone and therefore having a more personable eating experience.. kinda gross
Who is this man?
>have snacks craving
>no snacks in the house
>eat a tablespoon of half and half sesame oil and light soy sauce
I-it's not weird to do that, right /ck/?
Is there a better vegetable?
Things only X people do? For instance, whenever we get pizza it comes with a little container of garlic sauce. I know my younger sibling likes to lick it up instead of using it on pizza. What things do your family do that piss you off?
High protein foods.
I was looking at high protein low caloric foods and ended up with canned beans and oatmeal as the top choices. I don't have much time to cook so I can't make elaborate meals and I'm a poorfag so I can't east chicken breast 3 times a day.
Animal protein has higher bioavailability than plant protein. In addition, plant protein is incomplete, you need both grains and legumes to make the equivalent of a complete animal protein.
Eggs, cheese, and yogurt are better choices for quick protein. Oats are fine if you have milk with them.
I'm sure you get this thread 100000 times a day, but it's my turn now.
I'm not a cook. It's not that I can't do it, it's just that I never made an effort to. One time I tried to make bread following a YouTube recipe, and it turned out disgusting. I'm poor. I barely have any money. I'd like to go to the store and be able to feed myself for a week on around $15-20 dollars.
What do I buy? What do I eat that is a balanced diet? Where do I shop? It's all difficult to take in.
>know people who now who think they're great cooks because they know how to jam beef and cheese and dough and maybe some salt and pepper here and there into all kinds of difference shapes and fry it
Jesus Christ kill me why is this trash so popular?
What do you eat to food to make it taste better? Tell us your secrets.
I add crunchy peanut butter to my vanilla ice cream. Tastes really good
purreed canned pineapples on ice cream.
How do I gain weight healthily? I'm basically a skeleton and was borderline anorexic up to about 4 months ago, so what should be in my diet for gaining weight in a healthy manner?
Your additional calories should be coming primarily form plant sources, not milk or other memes. So up your intake of starch (bread, pasta, rice, beans, lentils, corn etc.), sugar/fruits and, if/as needed, add nuts, seeds and nuts butters.
Do not up your intake of saturated fat and animal products, as excess saturated fat is stored in the liver and around the internal organs, and also causes diabetes and heart disease.
Local brekfast-meal thread,Im from Turkey and here is my breakfast.
Let share your local foods, and answers or questions
My diet is really out of whack and I get more than half my calories from hard alcohol these days, but that seems like a lot of food for breakfast.
That bread looks pretty decent though, and now I'm craving dolmas.
Why is it that I can buy deep fried chicken strips from my local takeaway for cheaper than I can chicken breasts from the supermarket?
Because they get that shit for pennies wholesale and sell a great volume of that garbage to neckbeards like you
also, if you're buying chicken breasts at the supermarket you're doing it wrong. the breast is the most expensive retail cut of chicken. buy whole chickens instead. cut them up. use the breast meat to make your chicken strips. then use the rest of the chicken for other purposes. buying whole chicken is much much cheaper than breast meat.
When was the last time you had salmon fritters and why wasn't it today?
What's the safest and cheapest way to eat lots of fish? I used to eat tons of canned tuna before my mom scared me away from it with mercury stories, now all I get is the occasional packaged of smoked salmon which is pretty pricey
