Someone told me not to use a metal fork/ spoon when handling kimchi. Is this good advice? Or were they full of it?
It reacts to make sarin gas
How do you do your cold brew, /ck/? Pic related is my go-to.
just use a cheesecloth/sieve and any kind of bucket/jar/etc, no need to waste money on fancy brewing equipment. The only important factors are grind size (coarse) and brewing time (~12 hours) to make a good cold brew.
What do you put in a perfect beef burger (patty)?
umami
poached quail egg
microgreens
If you want to test how good of a burger chef you are just add nothing. The warm juicy meat and the buttery bun is all you should need.

who /punctuate/ here?
Depends if you have a good ramen place nearby though. Also if have a lot of freezer space you can make and freeze broth, charsiu and make essentially instant ramen that taste pretty nice. But yeah it does take time, and depending on the type of broth it can cost quite a lot.
barbecue sauce
there is literally nothing wrong with using store bought sauce

Do I use butter or oil?
who /truffleoil/ here?
I know opinions can be pretty polarizing on this stuff, but I honestly can't get enough of it. it's fucking amazing on pizza, or really anything with cheese for that matter
meme oil
>>7313991
Seconded. Always check the ingredients, most truffle oil is artificially flavored
>>7313992
doesn't really matter to me. all truffle-based stuff i've tried has tasted delicious, so i'm chalking up the difference between synthetic and authentic truffles to be placebo
What are your burrito fillings?
I usually do ground meat with beans and corn, wanna mix it up.

Just ate spaghetti with Ragu brand sauce. I love that shit. I eat it 3 or 4 times a week. Anyway I see on the lid it claims "America
s #1 pasta sauce brand!". Just wondering what type of pasta sauce brands are popular in other countries, specifically Italy. Anybody have any insight?
>>7312462
Dolmio in Denmark i think
>>7312462
What does it even mean to say "#1 in America" in regards to food items? That it's the best selling? Also, do they label packaging this way in other countries?
>>7312462
learn how to do your own sauce
how can somebody be so lazy? its not even that hard
Hey /ck/
I need some advice.
I am applying for a kitchen job near my area. Nothing major, but a prep cook (chopping shit up, cleaning around) anyway I have no prior experience except the things I make in my kitchen. I am pretty handy with a knife and can work quick. Does anybody have advice on what I should say? Or has anybody been in the same boat? thanks
>>7312439
You can start by learning how to use a pan.
>>7312439
Just say you worked at McDonalds for a year when you were a teenager
>>7312439
Im in a similar situation. Except I've got shitty confidence and 3 year training.
Too much of a bitch to call a restaurant and ask for a job.

I heard this one guy was arrested for cooking someone even though they volunteered though
Is baking cooking?
no baking is not cooking
baking is chemistry like a civilized human
cooking is throwing pieces of plants and animals in a fire like a uncouth savage
Sure
I don't think it really matters though
>>7311435
All things are chemistry if you're good enough at them
