French food is incredibly stagnant. It relies overly on fat and ridiculous amounts of knife work, french cooks are complete shit in actual working conditions.
Modern chefs and cooks don't want to spend 3 hours of their day turning veggies and bruinoising shallots, they don't want to spend 5 hours of their week making equally sized florettes, food has moved beyond what made french cooking popular, and France in that regard is stuck in the past.
If you think of your average fine dining restaurant, very little French tech is used, because at the end of the...

So French food is bad because you are a bad cook and you are also poor?
Okay.
I've spent many many many years in the kitchen (mostly higher end establishments) around many professionals in the industry.
The reason myself, and everyone else I know, can't stand well done steak is....
...Here it is comes boys, the cold hard truth;
People who order well done stakes 99.99999% are the most difficult customers that are most likely to needlessly run you like a horse, make up complains, want their meals comped/reduced, and tip like shit (amerift problem)
>>7308413
It's just people have shit taste and are afraid of 50% of the food they eat.
People think they'll get sick from eating a medium rare steak but proceed to go ahead and drink a Coke a day and shove processed foods and sugars up their asses.
It's uneducated. It's savage. It's embarrassing.
Avoid welldonners at all cost.
That and the fact it's really a waste of beef

This is an exact description of my well-done-steak-eating family.

IS this particular brand organic? I just want to eat some noodles that arent carcinogenic
>>7323405
Here you go organic faggot.
Just want you to know you are a retard begging for organic versions of shit food that are terrible for you. GMO's are not bad, but holy shit this is like asking for organic mcmuffins.

I got mostly Indica at the dispensary and went through about 1lb of bbq, with dessert and sides.
Good Bubba Kush if anyone struggles with appetite.

this isn't pleb general
For some reason /ck/, when I eat certain dairy products like ice cream, yogurt, or sour cream I get really sick to my stomach. Cheese and milk, for some reason, are fine though. Can any food experts tell me why that might be? Like what's the difference between some dairy and others?
>>7323236
it could be the sugar, or high fat content. it's strange that cheese and milk are okay, because if it was just cheese then i'd say you're lactose intolerant since cheese has less lactose.
>>7323241
maybe highly processed cheese and high permeate milk? and the fresh dairy is upsetting his guts?
>>7323236
It could be the richness of it. Your stomach might just not like the combination of high fat and sugar content.
Incidentally I have the opposite problem. I can't handle milk or cheese except in the smallest amounts, but I could eat a pint of ice cream and feel absolutely fine.
ITT: Foods and beverages that you don't like but force yourself to swallow anyway.
I... really do not like coffee, but my favored tea just doesn't have enough caffeine in it for me.
inb4 semen
Oatmeal. I hate the texture especially if it's made with water instead of milk. I force it down every morning because the fiber gets my gutty works moving.
Tomato. The taste overpowers virtually everything it's in for me and makes everything taste like rusty water, but it's in so many foods that people make for guests that I've long since given up telling a host that I can't stomach it.
The only exceptions are ketchup and cheap pizza sauce because they've been processed and seasoned beyond recognition.
>it's yet another picky eater thread
Will they really give me stomach ulcers? I go to a college with a large campus which i live slightly off of, so I've gotten into a habit of stopping at a convenience store near my apartment at the end of the day and picking up a bag a few times a week. I've heard the acid can give you ulcer's, is that true? Kind of addicted right now
>>7319458
Stomach ulcers are caused by bacteria, not spicy food.

Official beaner chip
My girlfriend's Mexican and she eats them with cucumber and lemon juice. Her sister had to get her gall bladder removed supposedly from eating too much of the same thing but I have no idea if that's actually why.
fat fuck mexican here,
I can easily gobble up a can of jalapeño slices in a sitting, and yet these motherfuckers and the habanero ones with the bull-shaped flame always fuck me up.
Don't expect your esophagus to take hot coffee kindly anymore.

Do you like grill chee? How do you make yours ?
I cooked some grill cheese on leftover goose fat recently.
It was pretty great.
You're losing out on a whole world of taste if you don't smear cream cheese on the inside of bread when making those.

Cream cheese?
>>7317942
>You're losing out on a whole world of taste if you don't smear cream cheese on the inside of bread when making those.
Tried that once. It was ok. I prefer mustard
>I cooked some grill cheese on leftover goose fat recently.
>It was pretty great.
Can't speak for goose fat, but grilled cheese (or eggs, or anything else) cooked in pork fat is super overrated. I can't really tell much of a difference...

So cu/ck/s, what are your favorite soft foods that you ate when you had your wisdom teeth out? I'm on the second day and I'm pretty damn bored of soup and oatmeal.
Pic related, what they looked like.
I had nothing but nutrition shakes and macaroni and cheese
As a result of this I can no longer stand white cheddar
>>7320175
I had three wisdom teeth pulled when I was in the Army. At the time, I worked as an Infantry NCO processing recruits through the 30th AG in Fort Benning, GA. As you would expect, Army dentists aren't as sharp as their civilian counterparts. The Major left me with a dry socket twice. I ate jello and drank tequila for weeks. And since I was unsupervised when doing my job, I could get away with being drunk during the day. It was the only way to numb part of the pain until the dentist could see me again.
It...

They're smart enough to get paid well but not bright enough to spend wisely. They don't know what to do with their extra income so they blow it on food and booze.
What is /ck/ having for dinner?
Do you usually have a warm meal for lunch or dinner?
Pic related for me.
I'm on a diet
>>7321315
I planned on having leftover ham from a family dinner, along with macaroni and cheese and buttered potatoes but I instead bought a case of beer and season 13 of Family Guy and ended up eating a baked potato with S&P.
Got some bacon yesterday. Going to put it to good use.
>>7321343
That pasta look delicious. I know the shape doesn't matter but I always feel like flat noodles taste better than round ones...
i didn't see a general hot sauce thread. What are your guys' favorites?
I picked up a bottle of pic related a few days ago, it's definitely hotter than their red sauce but has great flavor. I'm tempted to try ghost pepper sauces but it seems like the heat would overpower any flavor
>>7321131
If you find the black label version pick that up. It's not super hot but has a great smokey flavor I killed a bottle real quick because I was using it on everything
Louisiana Hot Sauce, Tobasco, Frank's Red Hot, Tapatio are what I've, included what OP posted.
Nando's peri peri for chicken, vegetables, fish and occasionally other meat. Cheap whatever hot pepper sauce for anything else, as long as it has some sweetness and acidity to it.
