I love to eat beans but they make me fart like a rotting corpse. How can I make this not happen?
kill yourself
>>7324936
Leave them soaking for a few hours before boiling them.
>>7324963
I've done that and I still feel like i'm going to die.
Are there any foods you want to like but can't bring yourself to? I just tried pic related and I was really excited about it, but in the end I couldn't keep it down.
>>7322870
What? I tried them in Japan with a Chinese friend was extremely disappointed because they tasted like slightly pickled regular boiled eggs
Mayonaise... I can eat it in a sandwich as long as I'm not making the sandwich. The texture and smell from the jar...
>>7323238
reminds you of the jar you keep under your bed?
How do I make a pie where the pastry is soft? I've eaten pies before where only the top is flaky, and the pastry on the bottom is soft, almost with the consistency of a dumpling.
I love pies like this. Is it a simple matter of undercooking it or do I use more suet or something?
>>7322723
prebake the pie shell
>>7322782
This would yield a crisper shell though. I only want the top to be crisp.
>>7322723
Undercook it.
So I finally want to invest in the highest quality cookware that will last a long time if taken care of. What does /ck/ use? What's top of the line for someone who cooks more than one meal a day every day. ( I put alot of wear into 100 tier cookware).
>>7329547
*100$ tier, like the kind you buy in a set at walmart tier stores
>>7329547
I use sitram for most of my stuff except the cast iron which is various lodge and staub.
The sitram is ok but in retrospect I should have gotten all clad. My dad has all clad and it's pretty fantastic. I only got the sitram because I wanted to be a special snowflake.
>>7329557
would you mine explaining why it's better? Sorry trying to get alot of research and input into this.
A friendly tip:
Much like hot sauce, freshly-grated, genuine Parmigiano-Reggiano can elevate even cheap pizza such as Little Caesars to great heights.
I also bought a jar of pepperoncini and squirted them over the pizza, much like I used to do with Papa John's during college. Worked very well, and then I wondered why I never thought of just getting a jar of them before.
>>7328691
Great tip. Did you also know that just a little smear of peanut butter can turn two slices of average bread into a delicious snack? Now I just keep jars of the stuff around to keep things interesting!
Next time try adding half a can of anchovies; it will blow your mind.
>>7328701
Eat peanut butter off my ass big boi
10 chicken nuggets for $1.99 (CAD). I just ate 40 of these.
How are you feeling right now?
>>7329442
I'm sorry.

>order a burger menu
>"to go?"
>tell her it isn't to go, and I wasn't done ordering yet
>order 24 nuggets
>"are those to go, then?"
>tell her they aren't to go either
>"are you going to eat that all by yourself"

So my mom was visiting me for a while, and I left for a few days for work. I got back, and the STUPID COW used my cast iron, and fucked it up. She tried cooking eggs and potatoes in it, let it sit around, and then decided she would soak it to get everything unstuck, without oiling it afterward.
So now, my pan is flecked with bits of old burned egg, and has patches of rust coming through. I know it's fixable, but I've never re-seasoned anything that's in this kind of shape.
I guess I should just use sandpaper to get everything off? And then if I rinse...

Steel wool, then re-season
>>7329275
Maybe switch to a type of pan that isn't so delicate and demanding of special care.
>>7329419
Pretty much this. Also be nice to your mom op. She is why you have the privilege of shitposting on 4chan instead of screaming with the other lost ghosts of aborted babies in the infinite interdimensional aether.
is cream of chicken the most patrician soup?
>>7328593

i want to make scalloped potatoes but i have no milk
do you think yogurt and cream instead will taste ok?
>>7328306
yes
>>7328306
may put a little of water cause yogurt and cream aren't liquid enough
>>7328306
If you have cream, use some egg yolks and broth as well.
Tastes better than milk imo, and much richer flavor.
I got an Instant Pot 3 weeks ago and so far I have made:
Beef stew x2
Chili
Yogurt x2
Quinoa
Rice
Corn Chowder
Beans x3
Mongolian Beef
This thing is amazing. Why has nobody discovered the wonders of pressure cooking?
>>7327942
My parents picked one up ages ago and never used it so I inherited it. Things pretty great, I mostly use it for rice as I don't have a rice cooker.
Cooked big batches of pulses, stews, chilli and sopa negra. I want to try doing some oats or maybe stewed fruit in it
>>7328230
I'm sorry for your lots, anon.
>>7327942
Is it worth the investment? My rice cooker went and I am looking for a replacement. Does it have a timer/delayed start?
Hi /ck/,
I've got two eggplants to get rid of. What can I do with them that involves minimal effort and other ingredients ? Slicing them and cooking them in a pan with olive oil is the only way I know and I'm looking for other ideas.
>>7327781
Eggplant Parmesan of course.
Stuff and bake
Give them a military funeral with full honors.
Big Mac

I just ordered a large double qp meal with big mac sauce and lettuce added, chocolate thickshake and triple cheeseburger on the side.
The qt girl that regularly delivers to me is always flirty and sometimes we'll chat for 5 minutes at a time.
Only problem is she looks like she might be 16 and I'm 24 so I'm avoiding that landmine.
What a shame, pals.
