I want to marinade some chicken
I was thinking of making it sweet and spicy
Heat up some water, soy sauce, sriracha, a bit of sugar/honey and some sesame oil. if too runny add a teaspoon of cornstarch and then put it all over chicken for overnight, then put some sesame seeds over it and fry, serve over sauteed paprika, spinach and wild rice

I hate food competition shows, they don't teach anything so they have no value. Chopped sucks now that they have more theme episodes and fewer weird ingredients.
The best food shows are documentaries, they actually inform about the processes beyond recipes.
