So /ck/ the time has come for the health kick I have been putting off.
Need some Ideas for healthy snacks/lunch to take to work.
No mega expensive shit, not a poorfag, but I probably have some jew in me somewhere.
Been thinking along the lines of couscous salads (one tub, easy as fuck to make), but I can only really eat it when heavily flavoured.
What do you guys take to work?
Pic semi related, kind of stuff I will end up taking because I am lazy and unimaginative.
>>7424092
a serving of couscous is about 20% of your daily cals, so a tin of tuna mixed with some lemon and herb couscous would be about 26%.
Its filling and really quick and easy. You could replace the couscous with canned chickpeas for around half the calories, and they can be flavoured in a huge variety of ways. Add a little fresh spinach leaves and its pretty good.
Thats the problem with healthy eating/ weightloss. As much as people say its tasty, it is a trade off, an alternative to the tastier foods.

Also beef jerky, not the honey barbeque glaze type stuff the original ones, is relatively low calorie and really high in protein.
non-fat greek yoghurt is really low cal and ridiculously high protein and so is quark and icelandic yoghurt.
>>7424092
that isn't lazy at all.
i pretty much eat a PB sandwich at work every day.
sometimes leftovers. i don't know who can be bothered to actually cook lunch though.
i'd much rather put that effort into dinner, then relax and enjoy it.
What do you like to put in your fried rice /ck/?
I usually put 1-1.5 chicken breasts, an onion, peppers, eggs, sometimes carrots or celery in there as well as soy/teriyaki sauces.
I've been making it a lot recently. It's cheap, easy, quick, it also lasts a long time and If I cook 2 cups of rice + veggies and meat It can last me 4-5 days of lunch and dinner.

Don't forget your pic related OP
>>7423837
Chicken thighs, onion, celery, peanuts, egg, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey
I like using bean sprouts as well in my fried rice.
What kind of oil do you fry it with, canola?
Meals that you like but your wife doesn't like.

She has a point with pic related.
liver and onions
tasty my friend, very tasty
I suppose it's what I get for marrying a posh North London girl
Which is the best vegetable? Please debate below.
Of course I mean culinary vegetable, so things like tomatoes are fair game.
May the best vegetable win
It's onion. It's sweet, it's hot, it's soft, it's crunchy, it compliments meat, it can replace meat.
OP here. I nominate eggplant and cabbage
>>7422522
>an onion
>replacing meat
Likely story there, bub
Did something happen with the 2014 pinot noir? I used to like this stuff but this bottle smells like it was poured over a new oak floor.
>>7421808
Some vintages are just better than others
Perhaps the wine was stored in newly made barrels? It's not rocket science ... also, a 2014 vintage might be far away from being consumed by now.

>I age all my wines even the ones not intended for aging
Dropped your fedora little buddy
Do you prefer to drink from can or bottle? i prefer can. Of course that you can close and open the bottle as many times as you want, but cans are superior(? Bottles gives a cheap ass taste to the drink.
>>7417738
cans are pig-disgusting
>needing to slurp over the rim
>having to deal with all the air being sucked in
>belching
>the tab breaking off
>rough on the lips
>>7417738
I agree. The plastic bottle makes it taste weird. The glass bottle costs more than I'd like to spend on a drink. The cans are perfect for the taste, amount, and price.
The only bad thing that i found in cans are that once you open it, if you have to close it, you can't.
What's the verdict, /ck/? I was going to pick up a couple of these for lunch today.

Would rather eat a quesalupa/10
Grilling makes them better than other fast food dogs. Toppings are meh.

The Classic dogg is pretty okay. The Chili Cheese one is disappointing, worse than Weinerschnitzels. Try both though.
You are forced to eat from the menu of one of these three pizza chains for the rest of your life.
Which one do you choose?

In this case, Pizza Hut because of their variety. The local franchise has stuff liked baked prawns, caprese salad, and some pretty good thin crust pizzas.
dominos since the other two make me fucking gag
>>7423541
As long as there are options other than the shitty pizza they make I'd be fine with any of them. Wouldn't be the first time I had a bad meal.
I want to make burgers
I have 2 quarter pound burgers
lettuce
raw onion
tomato
cheddar slices
ketchup
Should I put them under a grill, or shallow fry/oven? If shallow fry then oven, how long do I fry for, at low medium or high, and how long oven at wht temp?
I want to melt the cheese onto the burgers also, and will toast the inside of the buns
anyhting else you would suggest?
>>7423411
Literally do none of the things you've just suggested. Sear the patties in a really hot pan with just a little bit of oil, couple minutes on each side. After you flip them put a slice of cheese on each patty. Stack one on top of the other and set aside. Then put the bun cut-side down in the residual beef fat and toast until it's golden-brown. Add lettuce, tomato, onion, and ketchup.
>>7423423
2 min a side cooks them fully?
>>7423423
the instructions say put under a medium grill for 16-18 minutes, turning regularly
can anybody explain tea to me?
it's literally leaves that make hot water bitter flavoured
>>7422400(checked)
look it up you shitposter
>>7422400
>>7422411
nice
What's to explain?
Some people think hot bitter leaf water is tasty
My milk routinely goes sour a week before the best by date. What the fuck is this shit?
Invest in a refrigerator.
>>7422184
>great value
there ya go Cledis
>>7422192
I hardly ever shop at WMT, I usually go to HEB and get their store brand, but same thing. Do I have to get the expensive ($1.50 more) milk to avoid this or something? I didn't think quality/shelf life varied so much between brands.
Is BBQ Pit Boys /ck/ approved? Their recipes look pretty great.

Do you purchase produce grown in China?
I've been avoiding it, because when I think of China I think of pollution and poor sanitation, but there are a lot of herbs and vegetables that just aren't sold in regular grocery stores, meaning Chinatown is the only option.
What do?
Not anymore.
>canned mushrooms
>asian pears
>canned water chestnuts
I do miss the asian pears though
Generally pollution is in the cities, and farms are generally not in cities, if that makes you feel better. And things in Chinatown aren't always from China (especially vegetables that would not survive the journey by boat). You should probably not worry about this unless your standards are very high, i.e. you buy organic veg all of the time.
Its midnight and I want to eat some meat right now but all I have is chuck steak. How can I make it good?
Make stew or chili or braise it.
>>7422073
I'm hungry now, I can't cook it all night. The quicker I can cook it and it still be better
>>7422073
It's only midnight he can't braise it yet; he has to wait four hours and some change first.
