Could you bring yourself to eat bugs if scientists discovered that a bug-based diet could allow you to live to be 150?
I know the idea of eating bugs is seen as disgusting in western society and I, myself, would vomit if offered a bowl of insects, but I totally wouldn't be surprised if they were nutritious for us to eat.
I've tried mealworms, crickets, ants and grasshoppers and liked none of them.
A local supermarket sells bugs. I'm not sure if I've ever seen anyone actually by any, though. I think I remember a guy getting some, but it could be a false memory.
I would eat bugs if they are cheaper than conventional meat per lbs of protein.
I'm not sure I'd want to survive to be 150 under any circumstances unless I could also remain mentally sharp and physically strong... but if was a matter of survival I'd learn to eat and enjoy insects - until then I have no interest in overcoming my revulsion to the idea.
If i kill a deer with my car how fast should i start cutting it up until it becomes rotten/poisonous?
Are there articles which can show me how to cut up a deer into pieces?

Don't get caught because the game warden will fuck you up bro
What is your favourite nut and why? Mine are walnuts and pecan nuts. Pecans have a nice, strong flavour but walnuts are really good too.

fucking cool man.
My girlfriend isn't feeling well and is insisting I make her "cupcake soup".
What even would that be? Anyone have any ideas of something I can pass off as that so she can stop making pleas/demands from bed?
Are you sure she didn't ask for cupcakes AND soup?
>>7444894
Step 1: Acquire cupcakes, beef stock, bits of diced/ground turkey, and anything else your heart desires
Step 2: Honestly OP what the fuck is wrong with your gf?
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Profit!

Step 1. Ask your GF what the fuck she means instead of going on a fucking anime forum to do it
what is the longest amount of time you're willing to wait before being seated at a restaurant?
3 days

3 seconds

If it's some Red Lobster-tier place, 15-20 minutes, if everyone else really wants it. For a really high end place (assuming I'm retarded and didn't make reservations), I'll wait up to an hour. I'll just sit in the bar.
Hey /ck,
I've never eaten anchovies and I want to, but I don't want to risk ruining a pizza if I don't like it. What do anchovies taste like? Are they similar to anything?
Put a small piece of anchovie on one bite of pizza and try it, Einstein.
most people hate anchovies
it is definitely an acquired taste. think smoked oysters out of a can with a lot more salt.

Less water, more egg and flour
Your tuna might be too watery
>>7444685
Your choice of cooking oil doesn't matter.
You didn't state exactly what your procedure was so it's hard to find out where you fucked up, but the best guesses are:
1) you did drain the tuna, right? Too much juice from the tuna can will make them fall apart.
2) you did add the egg and the flour, right? Those are the binders which hold the patties together.
3) You aren't trying to flip the patties before the bottom is cooked all the way, are you?
Remember that...

So I've recently fallen in love with chicken thighs. Without a doubt my favorite meat at the moment. Tasty, cheap, easy to cook with.
Thing is I don't really know any good recipes. I just fry them up with garlic like a moron. Can you share your favorite chicken thigh recipes?
>cheap
I love them too. I usually just deep fry with a dredging of seasoned flour.
And put buffalo sauce on it or make rice and put a general tso's sauce on
I bake mine with s&p, olive oil, paprika and sage. Tasty.
why are Michigan coney dogs objectively better than any other regional type of hot dog?
Why is Midwestern American food literally, objectively, irrefutably, and inarguably better in EVERY WAY than food from literally anywhere else on earth?

So Heaty, my 1943 American Standard Radiator Company furnace heater just crapped out on me overnight. There's still a flame, but there's oddly no heat coming up through the flue/chimney/whatever nor through the steam pipes and into my radiators.
To help take my mind off the freezing cold and in memorandum of old Heaty's 72+ years of service, let's have a thread about foods that warm you right up, body and soul while I either find a repairs guy who won't fleece me or shop online for a new heater from Home Depot or Lowes, pay for delivery and have...

Here's something I made nearly a year ago. Baby chicken and sticky rice soup with leek and green cabbage.
Help keep me warm, friendos.

If you've got a microwave, boil water for tea! Curl up under the mound of blankets you surely have! Sleep!

The gas still works just fine, just the heater that's fucked. Well, actually not, as it turns out.
The repairsguy came and said the heater is working fine and that it's the thermostat that's fucked and that I need to contact an electrician.
I did.
The electrician wants to charge an arm and a leg for emergency service because it's a Sunday, so my nose grew three sizes and a hook just then and I said I'll call someone else.
A different electrician is coming tomorrow morning....

is vegetable oil good for you?
What about using vegetable oil for frying? or for deep frying?
What do you use instead?
I heard you don't use olive oil for frying.
vegetable oil can edure higher temperatures before burning (?), so its better for frying than olive oil
>>7444240
Also, I mean liquid vegetable oil. I am aware that non-liquid vegetable oil is cancer. Too many trans fats.
It depends what kind of vegetable oil. They have different fatty acid profiles. Oils with a high smoke point are good for frying. No idea about deep frying because I've never done it, but if you're concerned with something being "good for you" I wouldn't recommend it.
