>penguin dishes
I've never seen one. Have any of you fa/ck/ots eaten penguin before? How was it like?
there aren't a lot of people living in penguin areas, so they don't really get eaten
Screenfetch thread
If it counts, I know a guy who's had auk before. They're not penguins, but they look pretty similar and live in cold, frozen tundra lands that no one in their right mind would ever choose to live in.
What is this hard brown stuff on the bottom of this green pepper? I'm making stuffed peppers and I don't know if it will effect the taste or texture
It just didn't get enough water. It's A-OK
That is called corking. It happens to a lot of peppers, notibly the Jalapeño. It does not effect flavor or texture.

It's basically stretchmarks for vegetables.
How do you guys keep your kitchen full of chicken stock? I use this because my mom taught me to use it, but now I find it way too salty for any practical use. Boxed? Homemade?
>inb4 Korr Stock Pots
>>7448261
I don't know man, just like, make it fresh every time you need it?
Don't use Knorr it's full of shit.
>>7448261
Pic related but the chicken version. I also make it when whole chickens go on sale.

What did you eat yesterday?
What did you eat for breakfast?
What did you eat for lunch?
What did you eat for dinner?
What did you snack on?
I had a slice of coconut cake and coffee with milk for breakfast, mushroom-and-cheese sandwich wrap and carrot salad for lunch and a slice of meatloaf with stamppot and onion gravy for dinner.
I also had some gummi bears and a pear.

I think i snacked on bean dip and pita chips...

Theres nothing wrong with chicken tenders. Its only a problem when they are one of 3 things that you only eat
>>7447810
What "nice" restaurant serves chicken tenders?
>>7447813
Any restaurant that tries to boost its "family" crowd with a bland, inoffensive dish that a discriminating five year old can enjoy.
Why do chefs take themselves so seriously?
Don't they realize the only people who thinks their job is important or prestigious is themselves?
>>7447449
The same could be said for most professionals.
>Don't they realize the only people who thinks their job is important or prestigious is themselves?
that's clearly not true though
Back in my day trolling meant something
EAT IT
About time we started getting some good threads on this shitty board. Well done, OP.

So... Coke or Pepsi?
European Coke>Mexican Coke>American Pepsi>American Coke
RC
When it comes to those two, I prefer Pepsi.
There are so many better brands though. Red Bull Cola, Fritz Cola, Premium Cola, Afri Cola.

Are you being serious?
So I bought this thing on a whim, figured id use it to make Chocolate Mousse, going to follow Alton Browns recipe for the record.
Anyways, I went to looking for more recipes for this thing and really not finding anything for it. Am I just not using the right terms? I tried "Whip it recipes" "creamer recipe" and get not a whole lot. Where can I find some uses for this thing besides mousse and whipped cream?
you can use it to make quick infusions.
should be able to carbonate with it.
there are all kinds of modern foam-based sauces/meringues and shit that use it.
you can do that trick of making bread or cake in a microwave with it
try searching for recipes with the terms 'isi' or 'siphon'
you can use it to get high
>>7446979
i was just thinking about these things the other day because i realized if you put diarrhea in there you could have a diarrhea foam maker
Hey /ck/
I'm a Penn State graduate, and I wanted to share something with you all that was a Penn State Drunken tradition
The tradition is a place called "Are U Hungry"
Pic related is the famous "Fat Bitch", which is a sandwich with american cheese, shaved steak, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, ketchup, mayo, and french fries. I would usually get bacon on it as well.
It feels like your heart is going to die when you eat one.
Their entire menu is similar to this and there's some pretty interesting gems in there,...

How dare you not like something that I like!
Who likes Spam?
I never really understood the appeal. It's not much cheaper than ham pound for pound. I guess I like it but I'd rather pay a bit more for a slice of ham. I guess it's one of the cultural things that will never go away.
>>7446732
I like to fry it up, usually the spicy kind, and then mix it in with rice.
What does /ck/ think of Good Eats?
Just started watching and I'm enjoying it so far. Feels like Bill Nye but about cooking.
I guess you missed the Alton Brown thread that just disappeared? Pretty entertaining show. Great for beginners since it actually explains what the fuck food does.
>>7446708
Alton is a competent teacher and cook but his rigs for some of his shit are too complex for the average joe. What's important about his show is learning the science behind food. Once you have a deeper understanding of what's happening you can improvise much better when you cook. The show is responsible for a lot of my cooking knowledge.
>>7446728
agreed. the biggest thing for me is he is actually entertaining to watch. some cooking shows are just unfuckingbareable. good eats is my favorite cooking show since the urban peasant. i was just a tot watching that shit, but holy fuck did i ever love it!
