why are americans so dumb with their fruit and vegetables names? why would they call an aubergine an "eggplant"? because it resembles an egg, but is a plant? fucking hell.
My favorite berry is bananaberry.

Just pitching in to relay how incredibly uninteresting I find the subject matter of this thread.
Last nights experimental dinner: Beef Wellington w/ Sorghum Glazed Carrots and Zesty Creamed Einkorn & Buckwheat
Nigga the fuck is beef wellington?

Why the small portions?

New Zealand dish, comes from the town Wellington.
Pretty good actually
Hey so I have this flour that had a use by Oct 2015 date on it. Would it still be safe to use? It's been in a cool dry place and nothing's touched it since then.
I made pizza dough once and i wanted to practice again.
It's perfectly fine, and you won't notice any off tastes or results even if they were there.
Just continue keeping it tightly sealed in a cool dry place and it'll be fine until you're ready to buy a new one.
Honestly, just taste it and smell it. Rancid flour has a very distinct taste. If all seems normal, roll with it.

Put your apron on bro and start baking some bread, I'm talking rolls and whole loaves of bread, better fire up the oven from now.
Just made 7kg pulled pork in the sous vide today for the freezer. Normally I dont care about vaccuuming food, but today, just using regular ziplock bags, one of the bags with meat burst and it ruined a lot of the meat.
What should I look for in a vaccuum machine, and can I go for the absolutely cheapest piece of crap I can find, or do I need to go for something a little more pricey? I just want to cook 3kg/6lb slaps of meat in my sous vide and I really dont care about much else.

Fucking cringy-est wine decanter EVER. The wine won't even be able to breathe in that thing. What the fuck are people thinking?
Is it me or does Chipotle's lettuce taste weird now?
It's like you can taste the pesticides
I live in Columbus Ohio btw

Which Chipotle in Columbus?
Hey /ck/
Never posted here before.
I've only ever posted on /b/ and this post will be in this fashion. So I apologize.
My friend is coming over on friday and cook out with me. I am a die hard griller (gas-fags go home), and he has no experience on a grill.
He's bringing over some venison to cook, and I'm pretty stoked about it.
I txted him today to remind him that the meat needs to be thawed before it's cooked, but kept cold. I honestly am completely unaware of his knowledge about cooking as a whole.

You're both wrong. It needs to be close to or at room temperature before you put it on the heat.
>>7499947
Maybe, but in terms of storage it needs to be kept cold.
I didnt want to tell him to set it out, and then it sat on his counter for 2 days
How did we went from this.....
put it in the oven

I seriously don't know if this is the right place for this but I'd really like to get some recommendations for tasty/cheap e-juice.
I've tried a bunch of different cheaper flavors and they're not exactly doing it for me. Once I had a more expensive one and it was both richer and more complex than anything I've had before. Have I just bought the bad brands or do you seriously have to pay at least 9$ for the decent stuff?
Feel free to move or delete the thread if I'm completely off base posting this here. Couldn't find anything...

What country are you in?
MtBakerVapor is the cheapest per mL and tastiest you'll find for the price.
Now delete your thread.
What are some good, cheap meals to pack for lunch? I started working at a warehouse, so I need something filling that gives me a good amount of energy?
>>7499077
Anything with rice.
>>7499077
Anything with mice.
Anything with ice.
My sauces always come out like water, even if I was to only use a tea-spoon of water it would come out like the fucking ocean. How do I thicken my sauces and not make them watery, tasteless shits?
flour, starches, cum
What kind of sauce are you talking about? Solutions will vary
Just reduce it? Let it simmer for a while (1h+ if needed) and it'll become thicker.
Or add breadcrumbs or something if that wouldn't affect the dish too much.
What besides peanut butter will help me eat more than three thousand calories in one setting? Has to be a real meal

5 pizzas. If you can't finish them then you just weren't enough of a man.

Are you looking to clean bulk?

Anything deep fried
a lot of different type of food
remember to have something sweet for the dessert
I need zest. How do I remove the protective wax on grocery store produce? I don't want that shit in my zest.
>>7498854
You don't. Any chemical capable of dissolving the wax will fuck the fruit up far worse.
>I don't want that shit in my zest
why not? It's odorless, tasteless, harmless, and it's present in such a small quantity (if it's present at all) that it's negligible.
>>7498858
Maybe I'm overreacting. One of the local grocery stores recently put up a sign pointing out that all apples, citrus, and a few other types of produce on the shelves were treated with food grade paraffin or another food grade petroleum based wax. My initial reaction was that it seems like something undesirable for applications like zesting.
>>7498858
Herr durr harmless. Yeah in MINISCULE amounts....
Think about all the coatings and pesticides you consume over a lifetime...
Fucking buckets.
just ate this, first square frozen za ive had, I rate it 9.5/10 best frozen za ive ever had.
>>7498758
I like that one too. It's a bit salty, but overall quite good. As long as you cook it enough that the bottom gets crisp
>>7498758
would you consider that a sandwich?
The freschetta brick ovens are amazing.
How does /ck/ feel about balogna?

Why would someone do that?
But yes, I do like some Doktorskaya and this looks like exactly the same product.
>>7498644
I like Bologna and cheese with mayo on white bread. I actually ate this for breakfast this morning. Fried bologna is also good.
Does /ck/ grow it's own food?
I have been growing radishes for a week now (pic related) as a small distraction.
What kind of plants have you grown and what are your experiences?
Growing lemons atm. Two seeds have taken to the ground. I don't think I'll separate them. Is it okay not to separate them? Will it cause problems later on?
Starting two hydroponic systems. Picture is for a restaurant where wife is Exe Chef. They try to be farm to table as much as possible. They have a good size garden that im growing all vegies and herbs from seedlings. They also will have silkie chicks.
My personal hydro system will be in my basement, i want to focus on tomatoes, tomatillos and strawberries.

Won't they need sunlight, though? OR will you use UV?
