Nack's entry
utumn Seasoned Chicken Cordon Bleu Wrapped Prosciutto with a Cauliflower and Spinach Mash side.
The sauce is a savory Blueberry Gastrique.
Pink elephant's entry
>This is balsamic honey roasted pork with a spinach puree and pickled dill, with a side of pickled stuff (cabbage, tomato, olives and watermelon), and shallots. The pork is from my dead pig friend we killed and froze a few months back, and the spinach puree was made from spinach I found in my freezer. All the pickled shit is homemade too. If I need to prove the pork/spinach was from frozen ingredients I can take photos of the packaging, but I'm really lazy and want to drink beer in bed.
Bear's entry
>Biscuits and homemade gravy. Gravy has sausage and jalapenos.
Is there anything worth getting from 7-Eleven?
the new ciabatta breakfast sandwiches are pretty damn good and the pizza is passable.
>>7492892

hot dog with chili and cheese sauce and onions
Which one is better?
>>7492745
Back in the day, cheez its were as they were and nips were just like crackers coated in cheese dust
These days it seems like they are the same, but i havent had them in years
>>7492745
Cheese nips are garbage
Cheez-it Duos are god tier
$675 on Amazon...
other cookware pieces you drool over?
I would love a three piece pan set of copper, stainless steel, non-stick and cast iron each. Having the right pan for the right job is a real necessity for some dishes and it makes it that much harder when you don't have it at your ready.
>>7492707
Meh, Le Crueset has a nice reputation and all, but as time goes on their stuff keeps getting thinner and thinner. That's a fucking step backwards when it comes to a Dutch oven. I'd rather have a knockoff at this point as at least those are full thickness. The quality of their enamel is fantastic though!
As for what I'm drooling over: A pacojet. Alas I'll probably never buy one as the price is absurd for home use.
>>7492707
I honestly never cook for enough people to have any use for a pot that big.
Definitely want a good quality, smaller sized enameled cast iron, though.
ITT: weird things you have seen people refrigerate
My mother:
vegetable oil
hot sauce
onions
potatoes
bread
she freezes bread too but I'm OK with that
children
>>7492166
The onions made me cringe, imagine the shit they're absorbing.
The hot sauce I don't mind, sometimes cold hot sauce goes well on food.
I often pour a glass of juice and drink maybe half of it before it isn't cold any more. so, I put it in the fridge - often for a few days. I have two in my fridge right now.
my gf says this is weird.
>tfw everyones grandma cooks delicious food for them
>tfw i go to grandma's house for dinner
>>7491902
My grandma doesn't. She's extremely british despite having lived in Australia for 65 odd years. The only things she makes well are roast and apple pie and everything that's not meat and 3 veg is too exotic for her to even consider.
grandmas being better at cooking is a meme
>>7491905
I think mine is just retarded. She served baked potatoes AND sweet potatoes as the side dish.
What you cooked tonight thread.
Seshwan stir-fry
You bitch niggas couldn't handle the heat.
>seshwan
I don't need to know your name, darkie.
I had leftovers: brisket soup with barley and kale.
>>7491323
I look like a nazi, hombre. I just grew up in the Southwest and ate everything with salsa and cayenne growing up.
>it's spicy so it's good
Everything else about your picture is leaning me in the opposite direction.
How was your weekend, restaurant/hotel workers of /ck/?
What do you do? What kind of business/kitchen do you work in?
off day, here's a picture of some awesome chicken I made a while back.

>What do you do?

Hey /ck/ can we have a stoner food thread? What should I make while baked to soothe a savage case of El munchos
DUDE
>>7489269
Tex me always works
All you need is tortillas, cheese, and some sort of dog food to make a basic quesadilla.
But seriously, it's probably the easiest and most "no fuss" outside of sandwiches.
>>7489276
TexMex*
Fucking hell, autocorrect, how about you learn some fucking common colloquialisms.
Did you learn the hard way?
>>7488166
????
>>7488168
To wear rubber gloves when dealing with hot peppers.
ive known all along that habanero is the meme chili
Can someone explain to me why this is a bad thing?
It seems like a good example of how far and hose much we've progressed when it comes to farming.
>>7487748
it's not a bad thing. people who try to tell you it is are anti science and just blatantly ignorant and essentially want less people to have access to food. the one issue i have with it is as the birds get bigger it can cause them to suffer. but that is only with animals. gmos in general are good
>>7487748
its the whole natural = good thing people believe. like how they think GMOs are automatically evil. the legal aspects of Monsanto are bad, but the creation of better, larger crops is great
>>7487748
Well, did the taste, nutritional value, cost for breeding increase along with yield? There might be negatives, but if I recall from SCIENCE, at the very least the cost for breeding chicken is still stable.
Wasn't alive back in 1957 so I really can't recall how chickens taste back then.
I am pretty sure overall it's a good thing, especially since most of it is done through selective breeding.
Why do women seem to be obsessed with chocolate?
I mean, it's good but it's not like semi-orgasmic or anything to eat.
>tl;dr why are women crazed chocoloholics?
>>7486578
Science anon. You eat chocolate you get a rush of endorphins in your brain. For men this happens only for the first bite but for women it happens for every bite. Women were programmed to respond well to chocolate.
>>7486677
Is there a subtle sex joke hidden here?
>>7486578
Apparently something to do with low blood sugar, stress or changing hormonal levels prior to a woman's menstrual cycle.
Or Some researchers claim that chocolate cravings in menstruating women may be a cultural phenomenon. Studies have shown that American women are more likely to crave chocolate than women of other nationalities, perhaps because they're concerned about the high levels of sugar and fat in chocolate and therefore consider it an indulgence. Some experts believe that chocolate cravings in menstruating women may be largely psychological, since they feel that premenstrual symptoms give them a socially acceptable reason to eat chocolate, a high fat food.
