ITT: foods you hated/despised as a child, but love now as a man child.

Not him. But you need to chill the fuck out. Won't hurt to eat once in a while.
I love it.
Let's settle this /ck/. Which is better and why?
Fermented sugar water tastes better, is cheaper, and also gets you drunk.

VOTING GUIDELINES
Voting follows an 'Iron Chef' style scoring system. This means you, the people of /ck/, will judge each entry individually instead of deciding on what you feel is the "best" dish.
Dishes are scored out of a total 20 points, based on 4 categories (worth a maximum of 5 points each); Presentation, Originality, Appeal and Challenge Goals. You may award 0's if you feel the contestant did not meet your expectations for a category.

The theme of Round Four is...
Cookies!
Let's start the cruel process of elimination with a sweet bite... There are no restrictions or requirements, as long as it seems like a pleasant thing. While you're perfectly welcome to make a large spread of food, please make sure there is clearly a "main dish" because that is what people will be voting on.
Two contestants will not be moving on to the next round.
Will Lyin' Tom be allowed to compete in this thread?
Alright /ck/

Have any of you ever actually met someone who likes pretzels?
Just women, and I don't think they actually like hen either. They just tell themselves and everyone else that to try and lose weight because they're fatty fatties.
>>7522174
I do. Not a lot of them but a handful in a pub or something is nice to pick at.
>>7522174

>still reeee when I hear this shit
Italian women were the worst
I was born and raised in the states until I was 18, then moved to Europe for university.
One of the possibly weirdest things I miss about living in America is being able to buy whatever food I wanted at almost every second of the day.
Hundreds of brands and varieties of whatever, like barbecue sauce, rather than the MAYBE 10 I can choose out of here. I never bought anything outside of my 2 or 3 favorite brands but I COULD HAVE if I wanted to.
I also miss coupons, my country doesn't do them.
I know /ck/ loves Ameribaiting but I'm being sincere.
>>7522145
I find too many choices annoying when there's really little meaningful difference among them. Stuff you actually need doesn't come branded 20 different ways - it's always the garbage tier stuff: soda, junk food, bottled sauces and dressings, breakfast cereal. Stuff no one needs to buy, ever, but having a preference for one brand over another kind of justifies the purchase, because it becomes an exercise in exerting your preference.
I sidestep that by simply never buying these kind of products....

Everything you could ever want... Except a goddamn pomegranate
>>7522175
>you never see coupons for onions or cabbage.
No those are always on special or manager's discount but never coupons
Alright you fucking shits. I got a bacon burger "recipe" that a monkey could fucking follow.
You're gonna need bacon, whatever seasonings you fucking want, I'm not telling you how to taste your shit, and 80/20 beef.
I said 80/20. You grab anything else and you might as well eat shit because that's gonna be all you get.
Get a burger press, and for fuck's sake, wrap that shit, unless you want to clean that afterwards. Put two bacon on the press like this.
Put down roughly this size burger meat on the bacon. Don't make it any bigger, unless you want to fuck this up.
Now to press it, you need to show who's the boss. Become the Gordon and tell that piece of shit that it couldn't fucking press hard enough to squeeze the pimple out of its grandmother's asscheek.
Clearly it didn't do well enough. Obviously it's not motivated enough to spread out all the way.
DO IT AGAIN.
What are you brewing, /ck/?
I've got some mead and cider almost finished fermentation and ready for clearing.
I've got 40 bottles of orange ale in bottles right now. Gonna give one a try next Tuesday to see how it is.
>>7521409
Ginger beer tastes a lot more alcoholic but I was retarded and didn't set up any way of measuring the content.
Tastes good with the Chili and Ginger kick.
Probably get one of those big jars and do it properly soon.
On Friday I am trialing a recipe for a new house beer for my brewery using Brewer's Gold and Sorachi hops as they're readily available and fuck all else is.
Post what you are craving right now
A malty brown ale.
>>7520967
I've had 4 beers so I'm not going to risk driving there
Which one is better?
Cholula is a little too sweet for me
I grew up with tabasco as my go too besides Louisiana Hot sauce.
I never really fancied Cholula.
the correct answer is
>Best recipe
Milk, flour, vanilla sugar, egg white, bicarbonate, salt. Fry in butter on low heat.
>Best topping
Walnut & maple syrup ice cream
>Best occasion
Birthday breakfast
Are Mc Donald's pancakes as good as they used to be in the 80s or do they taste like prepackaged garbage now?
>>7542585
Well they are prepackaged, so they are not as exposed to the local franchise's success with enforcing hygiene policy.
>>7542542
How about posting, you know, pancakes, actual pancakes that are called pancakes, not that American crap.
When I make scrambled eggs it always sticks so I have to scrape some of it off. So most of the time I stick to sunny side up because it works better. I cook it with leftover bacon grease after I cook bacon. How do I get it to not stick?
>>7542273
I assume you're using a cast iron pan in which case if it sticks you need to season your pan.
>>7542273
Because newer cast iron pans are shit. They didn't machine smooth so you're left with a rough surface and consequently food that stick. Either sand it down yourself or add 1 inch of oil/butter.
>get shitty lodge skillet
>abuse it for years
>cook several batches in a row of sourdough psncakes
>with no oil
>just werks
How do you go grocery shopping with anxiety or autism?
>the grocery store I go to doesn't offer online ordering and I'm so autistic I arouse suspicion
>go to the store
>find the things you want
>put them in your cart
>go to the automatic register if you're really that afraid that some high schooler making minimum wage is going to judge you, even though he is going to see literally hundreds of people that day and isn't paid enough to give a shit about you
Super simple stuff.
you make a shopping list before going.
You walk into the supermarket.
You put everything you need into your basket.
You pay for it at the checkout.
You take it home.
Which step are you failing at?
>>7542107
I would imagine the whole "interacting with other human beings" part.
