Foods you don't get.
I will never fathom how the existence of the cucumber will ever be justified. For me it's a blend of unimaginable blandness and the texture is just awful.

It's crisp and refreshing, fuck you
>tfw you're in a rush and bought cucumber instead of zucchini
Life isn't fair.
What? Shit ain't bland. Fuck off.
>the last dinner you made
>rate it
Made a salmon, apple and kale salad. I give it a 5/10. I don't really ever make fish so I didn't cook it properly I feel. Still had that ocean-y taste and smell to it, maybe it was just the fish itself. The kale had a weird texture to it. But when you eat the kale, apple and salmon altogether in one bite, it was actually really great. Blended together nicely.

I made chicken picatta, I was at the liquor store and picked up a bottle of white wine and I had the rest of the ingredients. Honestly give it a 7/10, chicken was cooked perfectly but I put a little too much lemon juice in it because I was kinda drunk.

Toasting your spices, whether they're whole or ground. Also coconut milk instead of yogurt or cream, but that's a personal preference.
Are there any healthy flavours? I can't eat plain oatmeal, it just depresses me and it tastes like nothing, but I also don't want to put sugar and/or fruit in it all the time.
I've tried peanut butter and it's pretty okay, but I eat enough peanut butter as it is in sandwiches.
I feel like all that's left is dinner-flavoured "risotto" style oatmeal like mushrooms and such. But I don't know, that's not very morning food.

Just put some sugar and cream on it and grow it up
Oatmeal isn't really healthy or not, and a spoonful of sugar and cream isn't going to kill you.

try cinnamon and/or nutmeg
I'm a sommelier at what I guess /ck/ would term a "fine dining" restaurant (I realise that's a loose term as some of you believe Olive Garden to be a high end gastronomic experience).
Ask me anything.

What's it like having a sham job where you just make shit up about whatever you're drinking?

Hello, /ck/.

why you don't post a picture of wine bottles then?
This week I was able to git gud and make meat taste really fucking good just by doing this:
-Let meat (did pork and beef so far, both delicious) warm 5 minutes before cooking and season heavily with salt and pepper
-Get pan really fucking hot, to the point where it's almost smoking (it has nothing in it wtf)
-Drop meat in pan
-*sizzle sizzle* Rub and move it around the pan without applying too much pressure, just to make sure there's contact with the pan evenly
-Flip it
-Repeat
-Remove meat, let cool a good 5 minute
-Eat
I can see...

yeah I just watched a video of gordon ramsay's perfect steak and was quite surprised by the amount of oil and butter he's putting in there. Jesus christ that's a lot of fat.
But yeah the pork had this little slab of fat on the side so I just seared it first (even before putting the meat down) so it had this base of fat which was good.
Should I use olive oil or butter at the beginning? (gordon uses olive first and then butter to infuse the garlic/thyme in it towards the end)
Is the smoke normal?...

Which fruits and vegetables are actually better in America than in any other country in the world?
I've lived on about 3 continents and produce in America for the most part ranges from mediocre to shit unless you get extremely even in high end grocery stores. All the produce in the grocery store looks nice until you actually eat it.
Vidalia onions and key limes seem to be the two exceptions and key limes are on the list only because America seems to be the only place you can get them.
Vidalia onions are shite though, they're onions for people who hate onions but realize it's socially unacceptable not to like onions, so they found these fake onions that have no onion flavor, so they can pretend.
I get my produce from the farmers market. This week is baby mustard greens and the first ramps of the season. I have to say, it tastes really good.

Why are there so many fucking threads about McDonalds? Wtf..
>>7544487
Pretty much everyone here is a fat American fuck. Or a euro kitchen slut. Welcome newfag
Paid shills.
Trolls who think it is funny to act like paid shills.
People who yell at the shills, real or imagined.
People who then countershill for other fast food in the shill thread
Shilling intensifies
Countershills start Burger King shill threads to mock the mcdonalds shill threads
People bitch at those shills
McDonald's shills start shilling in the Burger King countershill threads.
Loop ad nauseum.
Basically /ck has turned into a troll/shill circle jerk.
>>7544487
You could have just pushed off a thread that wasn't a Mcdonald's one. You are part of the problem.
Chocolate will run out on 2020 due to overconsumption and deforestation.
