the temperature difference between the boiling water and cold/raw egg is too great. I find mine always crack if I don't put them in and then bring to a boil afterwards. sometimes if i heat it up too quickly they still crack.
I never seem to get boiled eggs right. I read somewhere that you're supposed to boil the water, put the eggs in, then turn off the heat and leave the eggs there. Is that true? Seems to me like the water wouldn't be hot for long enough to cook them.

Let's start by how people objectively say Wine X is better than Wine Y based purely on price alone. There was a 6,000 census study in comparing expensive wine to cheap wine and people without advanced taste training couldn't tell the difference. When a chemical was introduced into the expensive wine and the blinding was lifted, they still thought the more expensive wine tasted better even though it couldn't have.

Someone gave me a bottle of Snap Dragon cabernet sauvignon. I don't know shit about wine, but this isn't as bad as some of the other wines I've had (most of which have been malbecs, something is wrong with that shit).

I wish you could too. I do the same with tamales. Make them 2 or three times a year, freeze them. 45 minutes in a ricecooker/steamer and you're taking a trip to flavor town. And I wish I could share them with all of ck too... Everytime I eat one, they are so good, I start thinking about sharing them with the world, opening my own tamale restaurant, ending poverty, world peace...
