ITT: Restaurant chains that no longer exist.
What were your lunches like back in grade school?
Most Chinese restaurants where I live taste pretty similar as far as meat texture, batter, and sauces. Do most Chinese restaurants get their sauces and meats from distributors? If they do, what is the distributor? Or are the sauces all made in the restaurant?
If you go to your local Asian market you'll find containers with several liters of sauce and 5kilo bags of MSG for a few bucks.
That red sweet and sour sauce that every place seems to make the exact same? Yeah, you can buy that.
If you go to the frozen section you'll also find all the deep fried stuff ready to reheat.
most chinese plaes use hte same bland recipes. They buy the rice and pasta at the same stores same with the fish and seafood, meat, chicken an pork they can get cheap cuts from the local butcher tho.
The only place you can get autentic chinese food here is in the same store chinese restaurants owners buy their ingridients but you either have to sit at the bar o share one long overcrowded uncomfortable table.
Its actually surprisingly cheap for being pretty much the most ethnic dining experience around
Did anyone else fall for the "Mexican neighborhoods have great food!" meme?
It's literally just a million taquerias, maybe two of them any good, and a couple hipster bars. You can find a Burger King of you're willing to take a drive. Ffffffucking great, right?
I wish I'd moved into a neighborhood with Mediterranean food instead.
Slap cheap tacos together and sell 'em for 3.15 a pop
I don't mind cheap quality, so long as it's priced to match.
I did learn that cilantro and onion beats lettuce and tomato any day, though.
What are some restaurants that are worse than McDonalds? Are there any?
>contains no cream
What are some other foodstuffs with bullshit misleading names?
It's just purple cauliflower with some of sauce/crust.
Who the hell eats tomatoes like this, its meant to be a garnish right?
It's not "meant" to be anything, it's a plant which happens to be edible.
It is part of a full English breakfast though.
ladies and gentlemen: the culinary superiority of the british
The ONLY way to go.
Why do health and medical organizations recommend things like: eat whole grains, beans, vegetables, fruits, nuts, vegetable oil with a few servings of fish and low fat dairy a week but never meat or poultry or eggs?
Are they not good for you?
Fish is meat you idiot, I assume you mean beef.
Also it's taken for granted that the average person who actually needs to be told to eat whole grains and vegetables probably eats too much shit-tier beef in teh form of mcdonalds hamburgers already. Telling them that it's official healtha advice to eat beef is like giving your obese cat an unlimited bowl of wet food and expecting it not to die of the beetus. What he's gonna do is go "hurr big macs are a health food" the way alcoholics read some buzzfeed-tier clickbait about how a small glass of wine a day might be good for you therefore let's drink a six pack every night.
People need simple instructions and will fuck things up if you appear to be encouraging them to overindulge in the wrong things.
ITT: GOAT Carbonara recipes
dropped it right there OP. There's only one Carbonara recipe and all it takes is guanciale (or pancetta), pasta, salt, a bit of olive oil, eggs, pepper and grated parmegiano (or pecorino). Eveything else is bullshit and not Carbonara, some other pasta recipe, sure, but certainly not Carbonara.
Which is patrician and which is plebeian?
Limiting yourself to one of a category is retarded
>im now part of the coffee club and drinking tea for breakfast is a betrayal to my fellow autists in /ck/
both can be patrician or pleb, you can drink from teabags and sweeten your tea and you can drink instant coffee and be a pleb drinking both
What is the best chocolate bar?
12 cents has been deposited into your account.
Thank you for using shillway.
best flavor of arizona tea
This is the best
For reasons I'd prefer not to say, I need to eat a Trinidad Chocolate Scorpion pepper in a few days from now.
I have literally almost zero experience with spicy food and no experience with peppers.
What advice can you give me to reduce pain and heat.
The peppers are in my possession. I can't do any marinating to them or anything, but I do want to best prepare for the moment when I eat them.
