What do you usually get when you order Chinese, /ck/? For me, it's:
>Tofu in black bean or szechuan sauce (veggiefag reporting in)
>Noodles with beansprouts
>Vegetable spring rolls
>Curry sauce to pour on the noodles and spring rolls
You?
Egg Foo Young, an egg roll, and a small cup of rice.
Just a pint of chicken fried rice but if I'm super hungry I'll order steamed pork dumplings with it
>>7611749
salt and black pepper prawns with sliced chili peppers, garlic, mushrooms, and bok chow (a sort of cabbage)
yangzhou fried rice
some kind of veggie dish - i'm partial to fried tofu with chilis or black bean sauce or something like that.
sometimes if i'm not feeling sea food i'll just get the fried rice and thinly sliced beef flank with some sort of finger food like egg rolls to snack on.
I eat a mostly meat diet. What are some ways to avoid Scurvy?
>>7609853
eat a lemon
>>7609853
Eat an orange. Scurvy is a very specific and uncommon deficiency. Westerners eat way, way more vitamin C than we need. I'd worry more about other forms of malnutrition if you have a very lmited diet.
Drink grapefruit juice ya dingus. Are you a pirate?
Hey everyone. Just recently turned 21 wondering what is a good place to start with liqueurs and alcohol in general. Picked up a bottle of whiskey and vodka but have no idea what good brands and what to make with them.
>>7606233
I mix my vodka with soda or seltzer water
>>7606261
So far I've just tried orange juice and vodka. It's really the only thing I know about. Also someone told me tullamore dew was a good whiskey so that's what I got
>21
For you Four Loco and Corona.
Just kidding, but anyway you're asking a crazy broad question, almost as silly as saying "I've just started eating food and I don't know what to make with them." Alcohol comes in so many categories and moods.
For Whiskey I'd say Whiskey Sour, if it's a good whiskey you might want to try and Old Fashioned but keep in mind that's an old man's drink and you probably won't like it until you're a full blown alcoholic. Don't drink Jack and Coke,...

Am I the only person under 30 who never took a picture of their food? If I see people doing this I immediately lose a lot of respect for them
>>7618875
why do you care what other people do
I've started cooking real food from base ingredients instead of just reheating crap, making pasta sauce, cooking steaks, that sort of thing. I usually take a photo if I'm particularly happy with how it turned out, so I can see my progression. I don't post them anywhere. I have no idea why people take photos in public of resteraunt meals.
>>7618878
do you not observe the behavior of the people around you? do you go around staring at your shoes everywhere? idiot
>have Chinese gf
>one of her friends is a chef
>all that hotpot
>all those dumplings
>basically bring him any ingredient and he makes something delicious
>pic related
Picked up 6 pounds of live crab for $20. FUCK YEAH.
Why haven't you integrated yourself in to the local asian culture. Those fuckers love food more than anything
>>7614358
>one of her """" friends"""'
Top cuck
Is this the new "my wifes son"?
>>7614358
Heck yeah, OP. I made friends with this old Chinese lady who owns the local Azn market. She's been teaching me all kinds of cooking tips; inviting me into their restaurant kitchen to share food & teach, etc. It's awesome. I guess she's surprised to see a white boy buying chicken feet, pork blood, etc.
And don't limit yourself to Asian. There's plenty of other cultures who can teach you a lot of awesome cooking stuff.
where do you eat when Mcdonalds and Taco bell are no longer affordable? What are some delicious fastfood options for those of us who don't have the luxury of eating name-brands like McDonalds and Taco Bell?
>>7614246
hmmm you're going to have to buy the ingredients to make your own fast food. start with your local dollar store and buy beans, rice, and tortillas to make your own imitation taco bell burritos.
>>7614250
nice idea but is there any store thats like 50 cents and under?
>>7614255
The store that sells you your instant ramen
Now neck yourself
do you ever eat those sketchy looking gas station sandwiches that look like pic related? I only do it when I'm real desperate and just need something solid to fill the void temporarily. earlier I was out bird watching and forgot to eat lunch before I left and I started to feel like shit in the woods. I realized I was starving so I hauled ass to the nearest gas station and grabbed a sammie. I didn't even bother to look to see if it had a date on it or if it was growing mold and I don't even know what kind of meat it was I just inhaled it. About 3 hours later I'm...

I worked at a gas station about a year ago. We had Deli Express and a couple of other brands of those sandwiches. Just make sure you check the hand written dates on them before you buy. We would receive the sandwiches frozen in a crate, thaw them in the back coolers, and then write the date 28 days out from when we put them on the shelf. Most of my co-workers would forget to write the dates on them and pull the old ones, which led me to check each sandwich I sold so the person wouldn't get sick or pissed off.
They...

I often eat them. Sometimes I make it a meal by adding a can of soda and a bag of chips.
>>7613624
I do that too! I'm definitely not some pretentious douchebag who scoffs at anyone who decides to eat those things for lunch.
Are you drinking your water, /ck/? Be honest.
How much water do you have a day? What source does it come from? Faucet? Bottles? Gallon jugs? Filtered? Garden hose?
How do you like it? Over ice? Room temp? Garden hose temp? With lemon? Also curious for you filter fags/spring water fags, do you not use faucet water when you cook or make drinks like coffee and tea?
Spring water: the patricians choice, or meme of the century? Distilled water: the literally who, or the dark horse contender for best H2O?
I drink roughly 2-3 liters per day.
Source: my faucet, which has a filter on it.
>>faucet water when you cook
Using filtered water makes a difference for some things (drinks, stocks/broths) but I didn't notice any difference when, say, boiling veggies.
>spring
some of it tastes good, but I don't find it worth the price.
>distilled
contains no minerals so it doesn't taste of anything.
>>7611699
At least a gallon a day
Iced
Filtered from fridge at home or machine at work
Filtered for coffee, tea, and cooking
Cup at home, tumbler with straw at work, 1L Nalgene when out
>Be at very nice steakhouse ($150/plate) w/ in-laws
>MIL orders Prime Grade Prime Rib
>Complains that it is "very fatty, gross and not lean"
>Asks for Heinz 57 and slathers Prime Rib in it
>FIL orders "Extra well done" NY Strip
>Comes out as charred leather
>Complains it is "dry and chewy"

>going to a nice restaurant with baby boomers
You brought this on yourself. If I walk into a new restaurant and see it full of elderly white people, I turn 360 degrees and walk away.
>>7606474
Prime Rib is fucking disgusting. I ordered it once and couldn't finish it, literally a block of fat.
>>7606486
>boomers at a restaurant
>even once
I am planning to visit a highly rated Ethiopian restaurant soon and I am wondering for any recommendations of what to order. I like spicy and more subtle food equally.
Often times you just choose the meat (or vegetable) and get a full platter like in your OP pic.
most ethiopian places have some kind of combo plate on the menu so just order that to hit all the bases and save money
otoh do they do tend to load those combos up with cheap shit like lentil or bean dishes, so order the meat if you want it
Who the hell decided to add burgers and fries to a "Mexican" restaurant. You first kill my fucking family and conquer our land, now deport us and you still can't steal our food correctly?
>>7606732
>he doesn't get del taco chili cheese fries
>>7606732
Stay on your side of the wall. This does not concern you.
>>7606735
seriously though, is there anyone that can give a legitimate reason why having a wall there would be a bad thing?
>Crab and chilli
>>7614683
Tropicana and colgate
>>7614683
shrimp and chocolate
I've always wanted to try this.
>>7611881
>I've always wanted to try this.
So mail order some.
I'm belgian & craving for pic related
>>7611881
Get the Giant pint can and chill it to as cold as you can before drinking.
What do you do when you're at a restaurant and the table next to yours has a baby who won't stop screeching?
>>7603338
I continue my conversation with my guests and act like the adult I am.
>>7603338
I am thankful I'm not an autist who gets upset at other peoples evidence of intense sexual relations
It obviously is going to depend on the situation.
Last time I was in that situation (in a place where it wasn't appropriate) I asked to have the food boxed up, tipped the served, and explained why we were leaving.
I'm honestly too old to put up with that kind of shit.
Whats the nickname for Mcdonalds in your country?
