I have some boneless pork loin steak and I wanna cook it. I haven't done this before but I was thinking I will first defrost it in a microwave, then I will put 2 steaks on a plate, add soy sauce and sweet chili sauce and then put the steaks there for like 5 minutes (I think this is marinading?) Then add some seasoning: salt, peper and maybe cinnamon; then put it in the over for like 30 minutes and then if there is no pink meat or something, eat it.
How do I make the plan better? The instructions don't say that I can oven it. Will I get sick or something? What...

I just realised that perhaps I should've cut them thinner . Oh
Do you like Mexican food?

Why aren't those jalapenos inside the burrito, and why are they from a can?

SLICE THE BURRITI
Hi, I made potato salad (Kartoffelsalat) (Southern German tyoe, i.e. no mayo) and Krautsalat (approx. comparable to cole slaw).
I'm German. What do you think? Stereotypes about German cuisine? Confirmed non-confirmed?
>>7714132
I couldn't guess what it tastes like without mayo.
not sh*t posting
this stuff is pretty good
In general, German food is pretty heavy
Looks good, what do you use in place of mayo? It's quite yellow.
For example, pasteurised and bottled lime juice. You could not tell that it's lime juice. It tastes like gasoline. Never witnessed anyone using that.
Also:
Artificial strawberry/watermelon taste - who the hell thought of that being a good idea?
Anything else?
OP
>>7714112
oh you
Yeah I agree about the bottled lemon and lime juice.
You can't substitute them for fresh because they taste nothing alike, and I have no idea what else people could be using them for.
Hello /ck/
I'll be making some pasta with minced meat and a cream sauce, how should I spice it up? I'd like to try something different.

Try making a white bolognese: http://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/11111-rigatoni-with-white-bolognese

What do you think of this breakfast burrito, /ck/?
>>7713958
Burger King breakfast burrito.
It's shit.
don't like that big piece of meat in there. the meat should be in small chunks.

looks great
I just tried peanut butter for the first time in my life. Why are Americans so crazy about this stuff? It's one of the blandest things I've ever tasted, I'd rather eat a fucking cucumber sandwich than this stuff.
It just tastes of fat and nothing else. It tastes like I'm eating some sort of flavourless oil (e.g. vegetable), except with a much different texture.
I thought to myself "maybe I'm just not meant to eat it on its own" so I tried it in a sandwich, I tried it with icecream, I tried it in porridge. It adds no flavour, just makes everything fatty as if I'm eating McDonald's. I guess that's why Americans love it so much.
Pic related, the brand I tried. Tesco only had this brand and a local brand.
>>7713891
Tastes like peanuts to me.
>>7713891
i dunno i guess its something you have to grow up with
it might've been the brand you tried. if you care enough, its pretty easy to make as long as you have a food processor.
i like to take granola and mix it with peanut butter and chocolate chips and eat that instead of like dessert
>>7713900
I love eating chocolate chips instead of dessert. Do you ever eat potatoes and steak instead of dinner? I highly recommend it.
Tonight is a good a night as ever to have good beer, and good food to go with it.
This is a general cook along/drink along/eat along thread for people who don't wanna make their own. All welcome, all skill levels, from wifey to 3 star Michelin tire chefs, to fast food junkies. Whatever floats your boat.
Tonight I'm having spinach artichoke dip and fried pickles. Already prepped spinach achieve, getting together the pickles to have batter set.

we believe in you, glorious OP
grilled my first steak today
i followed all the instructions 100%
1. bought myself a piece of 1 inch thick new york strip with some marbling
2. oil up the grill, heat it to 500 degrees F
3. put salt and oil on steaks
4. grill 5 min each side
5. let it rest for 5 min, put on black pepper
wasn't impressed with the taste. although it was perfectly medium with grill marks, it was hard, difficult to chew, not much beef flavor. just like a salty piece of soft rubber.
what did i do wrong?
not a great cut, also obviously overcooked for your tastes
salt and pepper alone will be pretty bland, next time add butter to a frying pan towards the end of it cooking and baste it with it
some garlic in the pan won't hurt either, rosemary etc

Buy a shit grade cut and sandwich steak slice thickness at that. Get a 2" thick prime cut next time son
Halp me, /ck/, I got diarrhea
I ate some shit yesterday, and since the middle of last night I can't stop rushing to the toilet to let the ganges flow.
Problem is, I gotta go on a 3 hour train journey today, and can't just be shitting all the time, nor can I not eat anything. Have you guys got any suggestions for foods that don't make your ass explode?
I figure with the amount of alcohol you guys drink, and greasy pizza you eat, you must have some experience.
>>7713674
Buy some Imodium from the pharmacy you won't shit for days
>Take frequent, small sips of water and small bites of salty crackers.
>Avoid spicy foods, fruits, alcohol, and caffeine until 48 hours after all symptoms have disappeared.
>Avoid chewing gum that contains sorbitol.
>Avoid milk for 3 days after symptoms disappear. You can eat cheese or yogurt with probiotics.
It's not much, but it shoul help a little.

thanks senpai
ITT: POST SANDWICHES.
No burgers
Bumping with the best pastrami I've had.
This kind was thin and it had crispy edges, why the fuck is all the other pastrami I find on sandwiches much more fatty.

I'm not sure if you guys know alcohol, but I figured this was the board to ask.
I love absinthe, but it makes me fucking NUTS. I stabbed myself and then cleaned a whole bathroom to sparkling while bleeding all over myself through my makeshift tourniqet on the stuff, and another time I dislocated one of my hands by punching a concrete wall as hard as I could. Barely felt it.
I drink vodka, whiskey (which makes me violent but not stupid), beer, you name it. But only absinthe turns me into a rabid animal. I looked stuff up and people are saying there are no hallucenoencis...

maybe you're just a shit show nutter and that has nothing to do with it.
>>7713578
Absinthe in Europe had wormwood in it. That's hallucinogenic. The pussy version we drink in the US doesn't unless you made it yourself.
Have you ever made your own sourdough /ck/? I really want to try and get away from the store bread and I want a baking challenge.
I make a pseudo-sourdough in my breadmaker. It gets the sour flavor from powdered milk and plain yogurt. It's delicious when warm and slathered with butter.
get the book Flour, water, salt, yeast by Forkish. I pulled it off torrents in e book . Follow the levain method and you will be making amazing sourdough.
I did it, ate it and shitted like a hose for two days.
Which one is better?

cheeze-it is the best snack that could ever exist. This better be bait

We already have too many nips in the world. Stick with cheese its.
My dad and his gf won't stop cooking salmon. We had 4 times in the last week. I think they do it because of some health shit. I mean I don't mine it if they don't cook it the same way every time. Season it and pop it in the oven.
I would like some other fishes or ways to cook salmon. Any suggestions.
salmon sashimi

Of course not - you fish for it.
