What are some good cooking/restaurant related shows? like pic related or kitchen nightmares
Does /ck/ approve of stouffers mac and cheese?
No but I know shitty eaters who do.
I know a couple of people who eat it regularly, along with Chef Boyardee and corn dogs. Do YOU want to be in that same category of people? I would think not.
Hey, /ck/. I've been really craving fried chicken as of late. Anyone have any good recipes they can share?
Pre-Heating is a meme. There's no reason to pre-heat your oven.
I'm a wine noob and have some basic stupid questions.
>does wine "go bad" after opening? what about fortified wines?
>do port or sherry need to be decantered?
>are stemless wine glasses a meme?
>does it matter if wine is stored upright vs laying?
>yes, it should be consumed that day, or within 2-3 days at most, though removing the air and storing it in the fridge will help, and higher alcohol wines will lose quality at a slower rate
>no, but they're dumb for white wine because the heat from your hand will bring down the temperature
>only if using a natural cork and storing it long term, as the cork will dry out and crumble otherwise, but that's part of the reason to decant
Never trust a woman with cookin meat.
wbhat are you cooking /ck/?
me? a chinese sausage and some rice on the rice cooker. heres hoping this works out
Pretty regular dinner
>garlic mashed potatoes
>thinly sliced carrots and pea pods with lemon and olive oil
>chicken thighs/drums with honey-lemon sauce
So what are some extravagant foods you'd like to try and/or prepare yourself?
Much food nowadays is just slabs of meat from here and there where you don't even recognize it was an animal once so I find stuff interesting where you still see where it comes from.
I'd like to try Ortolans once. It is whole songbirds drowned in Armagnac and then prepared. Eaten whole.
Caneton Tour d'Argent sounds crazy too.
A duck is choked to death and then roasted.
Then the duck is put into a press which squeezes out the blood and fluids to create a wonderful sauce.
i was wondering if its possible to bring my own sauce to mcdonalds.
I like mcdonalds chicken burgers but they have really shitty mustard, i like djon mustard in my chicken, i also want some guacamole frys but they dont serve that
so i was thinking on going there with a mustard jar, an avocado, a knife and a fork and maybbe some lemon to sueeze on the fries
sure i could take the food home but its too cold outside so my food wouldnt arrive home warm with me
Quick Question: How do you pan fry breaded chicken breast without burning the breading but making sure the fatter side is cooked all the way through?
Pounded it out (still uneven) and currently brining in buttermilk.
just inherited $250k.... what kind of restaurant should I start... wuz thinking Italian but I really like curry and sushi, but I think Italian would be more profitable. thoughts?
How about you don't and actually keep your money. If you have no vision already, you're already fucked. Not successful restaurant owner ever started their business by asking what to do on an Internet forum
Just fucking end my life. I hate Food Beast so much.
what is wrong with people? wrapping cheese in bacon is not a meal, you fucking reprobates.
your turn /ck/
I'm staying in Austria and the pizza I just ate had stones in the olives. Do Austrians eat pizza in some bizarre way where this makes any kind of sense or is their catering industry run by dentists?
