is arroz con leche any good?
I often hear people here talk about how difficult it is to be a sushi chef, and how elegant and complicated sushi is to make. It seems like it would be the easiest food in the world to make.
So I ask you, what makes sushi more elegant and refined than something like a hot dog? Or is it just because this is a website for people who have that aspergers thing where they love japan?
We don't have sushi in my country so my wife and I make it ourselves.
It turns out pretty good even though we aren't chefs of anything.
The task of making sushi is just time consuming and being able to select the right ingredients.
Then you get an OK sushi. But to really hone on the sushi skills to sell the stuff at a professional level you need to be in it for a while.
So that there is more of a trade.
Running a kitchen is what makes you a "chef".
Hypothetically and theoretically could an individually live solely off of meat, milk, eggs, and water with no vegetables, fruits or grains whatsoever.
Decided to go to finally take a vacation out of my own country, however I can't go out of North America and I'd rather cook myself and serve myself with craft singles than go to Mexico. So the only place left is Canada, where should I go for the best/most food?
Pic related, not going to Jesus land.
Go to Illinois, get some thin crust (AKA Chicago style) pizza
Hey /ck/. Fat guy here (230 lbs at 5'11").
I'm fasting this week, to lose weight and help 'reset' an unhealthy relationship with food. I'm also hoping that this will help motivate me to cook challenging and delicious foods when I break fast.
Anyone have any suggestions for what I should cook this Saturday? Anyone else fasting? Pic related, what I'm craving right now.
You're going to fail.
Losing weight is a lifestyle change, and doing something like this is literally the worst way to go about it. I bet money you're just going to give up and binge eat. Fatty.
Should have had an inb4. I actually started what you would call a lifestyle change some months ago and have lost a fairly significant amount of weight. I find that fasting keeps me focused and in a way motivated, and I'm able to appreciate the food that I do eat to a greater extent than ever before.
Listen, have the tortilla chips. It's fine, but don't fucking go overboard. The idea is to ween yourself to a reasonable proportion. No point in going cold turkey really, you'll only end up breaking.
Also drinking water helps.
Food going bad. How often does this happen to you, /ck/?
>they wilt within 2 days despite being in crisper drawer
>eat anyway if cookable (to hide texture) but it sucks
>went from hard/crunchy/unripe straight to rotten, full mold
>buy eggs, make hardboiled eggs
>find out (just moved here) fridge is set too cold, eggs freeze in the fridge and crack shell, icy texture, can't even look at them or I get upset, have to throw out
>cottage cheese was also affected by the freeze-temp fridge, texture ruined but still edible, just sad
>had avocado, ate half, set other half on plate and put in fridge
>figured cut part wasn't exposed to air, would be good
>turns black/brown in 2 days
>due to how fuckwit at grocery store jammed the bag full, became bruised, got that disgusting slimy texture part on bruise
>an apricot also exploded on way home due to said fuckwittery, got apricot slime on everything else
I hate this shit soooooooo much. Sometimes I want to just stop buying fresh food and only eat frozen or shelf-stable crap. How does /ck/ avoid food going bad? I already go shopping about twice a week but fuck, it's like if I don't eat the produce within the next day it goes to shit. So tired of having to eat half-rotten produce because of this.
I'm going to america in my first time in my life.
Want to try "fast-food".
Do you have to book a table to eat at burger king or the mac donalds?
How fast is the food and will I have to eat it fastly aswell?
Which restaurant has the good chicken "nuggets"?
thanks in advance
Yes you have to book. Call the local fast food reservation service on 911 and tell them your order
McDonalds and BK don't sell chicken nuggets but you can get them on the secret menu. Ask for a foursome of chicken tendies and wink when you ask. The server will give you a plastic butter knife which you can use to make them more nugget shaped
The best dipping sauce is the Chinese one "cream of sum yung gei"
Sounds deliciously! Thanks for the advice cowboy!
I have heard about "drive through"
does not make very much sense, wouldnt the gas from the cars and the sounds from the cars be not very pleasent for eating a meal?
But sounds very interesting nonetheless. Can't wait to discover america!!
Don't bring a book unless it's a picture book for children
A Muslim communist atheist Jewish professor was recently dragged off a plane for national security reasons. That reasons: inscrutable writings, probably elitist
What sort of seasoning mix do you use? What do you put in the breading mix?
I'm planning to try this 18th century fried chicken recipe.
Gonna do it with beef. What veg should I chuck in for a good mix?
>Move into new apartment
>Empty Kitchen save for cooking equipment
>Only have $50 for food to last you a week
What do you buy?
Hey /ck/, what are you go to brands and flavors for tea or coffee when you're just trying to relax and take a load off? How do you brew it?
I like this in the evening. Sometimes I go with chamomile.
/ck/ I don't know what to do here. I started drinking IPAs hoping I'd like them after a while. Everyone I knew laughed at my ass because they thought that IPAs tasted like bitter dog piss and I was force to "fake it till I made it," so to say. I proclaimed that I loved the bitter, mature taste, and while they didn't buy it at first, it's been months and now I'm cemented as the "IPAGuy."
But here's the "sick-kicker." I still absolutely detest them and now I can't stop. Now people buy me the most bitter fucking...
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Fun fact: IPA's are popular because they're easy to brew. The ultra hopped ale hides imperfections in the brewing process really well. It's an entry level beer for brewers. It doesn't invalidate it though because some are pretty well balanced.
OP, go to a fucking bottle shop, talk to an employee and buy different kinds of beer. Why are you so fucking helpless?
I keep very aggressive company. If I go back on my only claim to fame then they'll treat me even worse than they did when I started consuming these horrid drinks. I'm at odds here, the easiest solution will be to buy both IPAs and a better tasting beer and pour out the IPA, pouring the other beer in and resealing it as best I can. I'll "BYOB" and nobody will want any of it anyway.
Does anyone know how I can obtain pig or cow intestines like in the picture.
I live on the central east coast of Florida.
Any tips or know how? I want to prepare my favorite Korean food 곺창 데창 but after moving from Korea I cannotfind it.
What's the most popular food in the world?
When I tried looking it up, it gave me rice, but that's bullshit. Rice might be the most commonly consumed food, but the most POPULAR? As in the most favorite food of the most amount of people? I say, no!
I realize this is hardly the place to get any kind of legitimate basis for speculation, but it was the best one I can think of. What do you think is the most popular food in the world, /ck/? In terms of passion, not lukewarm acceptance and ease of access
i'm guessing fried chicken.
you see it in every country. most cultures have some take on it.
