Sadly, I think D.va is going to be the over-saturated cosplay of the fandom. But if you have great sewing skills, and can put the effort into making a clean looking suit with all the intricate details and depth, I'd say why not give it a try? As long as you avoid the whole "LADY TIME = BOOTY SHORTS AND BOOB ARMOR" shtick, I think it's a reasonable option. Normally, I'd suggest trying full crossplay, but there are some male characters who have exposed chests and facial hair, which can be difficult for many people to (comfortably) pull off.
I feel like Overwatch is going to be one of those series where many people are going to to get attached to certain characters by the very nature of the game, and will want to cosplay their main regardless of their own personal appearance. Or maybe we'll all just drown in a dramalicious avalanche of D.Va and Mei "glamour cosplayers".

The only problem with that is that Hiccup's peg leg is really low, like ankle level; Junkrat's amputation is above the knee so you definitely can't use the same technique to try and emulate it.

It's really only gotten popular this past year or so. IMO it cheapens the experience of propwork since anyone with 2 grand can drop it on a printer that spits out 90% accurate props with no work on their part.
