I'm nervous because I'm nearly done with my cosplay but it's one of those things where it will either go quickly and be fine or I will hit a bunch of snags on it and won't be able to finish in time.
How the hell do the rest of you accurately guess how long a costume will take to make and also account for random difficulties you'll run into?

I sew and craft like a demon possessed, so for me I mainly judge by how many days off I am going to have from work. I know that any given costume I could probably finish in about a week, it's just having a week's worth of days off that's the real trick.

West coaster here formerly from San Antonio. I can't believe how big SJ has gotten since I moved away in 2011. I went to the very first year, in the basement of the municipal auditorium or something, and remember checking the newspaper and being excited about 3000 attendees. Can't believe they have actual Lolita brand tea parties there and shit. Wish I had a reason to fly all the way out there but it's so far.
