I really want to cosplay Zarya (relatively buff girl here so fuck yes for this character), but I have zero clues where to start. Never made anything like it and i tried looking up tutorials but it feels so overwhelming, lol. if anyone has a solid tut, please point me in the right direction.

It feel like its going to be a serious construction project no matter how you do it, but here is what I would do...
You want your head to be about where D.va sits, so you have something to look out of. Your arms go into the cannon arms, and your legs go into the legs such that your legs are at the front and most of the robot 'leg' is begin you. If you really want to replicate the way the mech walks, you will have to get something like those fetish pony boots that force you to walk on your toes and basically turn your feet into hooves. I have absolute no idea how comfortable that would be, but I know they exist because I saw someone use them to cosplay a Tau Firewarrior once.
If you go with that sort of setup, what this means is that you will basically be walking around like a velociraptor, and the bulk of the mech will be behind you, and a fair amount of hit will be on your back. To make that not absolutely insane, that means most of the mech needs to be light as shit.
So your best bet is probably something like foam blocks covered in a thin sheet of plastic (like wonderflex or worbla) in order to give it that armor finish.
I have no idea how you would ever sit down or do other con things in such a costume, though. Its not very functional. You dont even have hands, unless you find a way to actually so the exposed arm-thing that Dva does, which I dont think you can do without making an actual robot suit.

The good news is that most of Zarya's outfit is fairly generic scifi armor. I feel like a lot of that can be replicated by finding other scifi costumes and modifying them to be closer to Zarya's.
The only part of her costume that is super unique is the gun. That you have no real choice but to make.

Gremlin D.Va is the best thing that's happened to tubby cosplayers who want to do sexy/fit characters.
To make it work though, you have to put the orange makeup around your mouth and carry around a party size bag of Doritos. Otherwise the fact that you're in on the joke doesn't get communicated. There's no reason why you can't make the full costume like that.
Bonus points if you replace the pink triangles on her face with Doritos or MtnDew logos.

Started over on my McCree gun yesterday. Didn't like how it was going with the previous technique, so I'm redoing it with MDF instead of a balsa/ply sandwich. Also disregard the battery markings, I'm gonna have to skip lighting on this thing. There just isn't time to get it done right, and I'd rather have a durable and good looking prop than a shitty one that lights up.
AX anxiety is looming pretty hard now, but I think I should be able to get it done in time. I guess I need to go cowboy hat shopping in the next week or so. I think I'm gonna have to skip accurate shoes and just wear my normal brown boots as well, which probably won't be a big deal.
Also, I'm actually kind of glad McCree got nerfed - now I don't have to feel bad about cosplaying the OP scumbag character of the game.

You can get tattoo transfer paper to print on and there are services which will print it for you. Just get a high quality vector of it, although with the size and placement it might be pretty tricky to apply. Dust a little translucent powder of the top of the tattoo for it to look a little more realistic.
I'm really stuck on making Yeti Hunter Mei's hat. I'm planning on making it out of suede but I'm really stuck on the ingame colour. It seems like it's the same colour as the backpack, which when I colour-picked both it came out green. However my friend tells me it's grey ingame for them.

So I'm a dude who wants to do an over watch cosplay. The problem is that I hate like all the male characters so I'm thinking of doing my first gender bent character. Most of the really rough parts you see are either unfinished or in areas that will be covered, too. (I'm doing an aluminum tape wrap with oil washes for the final finish on most of the gun, so it'll hide a lot of the surface imperfections as well.)

I used hardware store caps, yeah, but the pipes for them were too costly to cut and use, and didn't really have too much of a "bomb" appearance
I used the smaller cans shown here for the center piece (I messed up a little bit on the far left one here: >>9055467 )

Those are literally the easiest parts for me as I enjoy making props. The shoes on the other hand have to be a lot more comfortable than a normal prop, have to go through a lot more wear and tear than my props (being held and bumped into vs being walked on for 12 hours) and require sewing to match the rest of the outfit, which is my biggest weakness. Especially something like boots where I have no pattern for them.

Fat people gain traits that aren't cute, really squished faces and weirdly distributed fat, something not true for a character that is specifically designed to look good, even if bigger.
Look at Pochaco for example. She's fat, but she doesn't have the bad things about being fat, like a really chubby face, fat arms, fupa etc, because she was designed to be a cute kind of fat, something that doesn't really exist in real life
