Lovelor claimed to not have an opinion about this.

Her argument doesn't make any fucking sense. Brands are well aware there are oversea customers, else they won't open official shops there.
>>
>>9014341
lol i don't know why people were freaking out about this, it wasn't exactly a groundbreaking video.

Can we talk about how bad Lolita Humor is? Wtf finally they got moderation

Yeah. It was interesting, but by no means something to get excited about.

Oh well, she got a deflated petticoat donated. This project just got doomed. Why would she send a ruined product for a company to work with? They will assume that's the amount of poof we're interested in..

Just for shits and giggles, I tried to find something that fashiondegree-chan designed and made. This is all I could find and it looks like something an eight year old girl would scribble in her maths binder. The construction is decent-ish though, so I will give her that.

There is nothing original about it.

Tbqh 8 year olds come up with some pretty darn good ideas.
Even if this isn't a groundbreaking idea, it's still original unless she directly copied it from one source (which is her issue with the petticoats).
It's a goddamn petticoat though, I wish people would get as worked up about replicas as they did about this.

Sorry you guys. I didn't know this was gonna happen.

To clarify about the deflated petti thing, I explained that a spare would mostly like be deflated but that isn't how we like to wear them, and they said they understood and they just wanted to see like the basics of how it's made. They are also down for buying a new petticoat from BH. The only reason I went with sending them a donation first was so they don't have to wait for a commission to be finished and international shipping and whatnot. Also after considering it I told them I would be willing to give up my not deflated MLT petticoat. If it comes to that I'll figure something out until I can get a replacement!

I just kept seeing people talk about long petticoat waiting times and needing stuff in time for events and I thought this could help since MM pettis are so great, and I guess I got a little too excited when MM was responding so positively to the idea, judging by how unhappy people are with me.

I'm gonna keep in contact with MM and hopefully you will start seeing some bell pettis from them at some point... I'll not post about it anymore if people are annoyed by me/all this

Also sorry for deleting the thread, but I already got a donation and the thread was devolving real quick and I didn't think there was a point in having it up anymore, and I kept having to make the same comment over and over and over
>>
>>9014914
Hey dont be sorry! You are doing a great thing and the people complain know so little about fashion and industries its almost insulting!

Im sure MM will send your petti back to you even, unless they are buying it from you.

Itll be great if they start this and all those pissy lolitas will end up buying from MM anyway

>>9015080
I did link them to meta and AP's pettis as well!
>>
>>9015100
I would love an official MM petti for lolita fashion, especially if they give the right length. I fudged a bell-shaped one with the 580 by pinning up and stitching (8 spots around in one layer, another 8 spots in the second layer), but it's still so long that it only works with Meta's "medium" skirts and some IW pieces. The fluff's staying power is amazing, but it's still too long for a lot of items I own.
>>
Anybody have any issues with guys messaging you after posting to groups like Rufflechat and Closet of Frills?

Ugh. Yes. I used to get random dudes from Qatar and Dubai messaging me after posting to certain comms. I changed my privacy settings and it's tapered off, though.
>>
>>9014914
I'd rather you send the deflated. I'm no longer happy with my mlt and I've only had it since January. Most of my dresses are too heavy and deflate it disappointingly as soon as I walk outside. I wonder if there's a problem with her construction
>>
>>9014559
'Ethic of work'. Holy shit. This girl. I'd be more happy if something I made was withstanding time because of proper design. That's good work.
>>
>>9014673
>>9014658
Stop white knighting a bitch who is throwing a fit over pettis. Its a scalloped skirt. Absolutely nothing new or inventive about it.
>>
>>9015595
I didn't say it was some groundbreaking design. She is complaining about directly copying another persons design by taking it apart and replicating it. This is different, it's a skirt she self drafted. I'm not whiteknighting, y'all are just looking to bitch about her.
>>
>>9014914
I recommend one day in paradise's petticoat from Lolita Collective. It's like $40, but really comfy and from organza material. I live in the Northwest and it arrived 4 days after I ordered.
>>
>>9015513

ok anon, and how do you claim to know this
>>
>>9015513
Please, please report it if this happens. A lot of these groups are set up so that people can approve/add their friends, so if one spambot or creep sneaks in, they can add others, but if it's reported, a moderator can track back to who added the creeps and wipe out the whole chain.
>>
>>9015685
>ODiP
Are they still around, or is this leftover stock? I'm all for good pettis but feel uncomfortable buying these if the money goes to a known scammer and dramacow.
>>
>>9015814
Its left over stock, and really they never made anything themselves. Its likely a CP petti.
>>
>>9014384
Does the whole thing scream scam to anyone else?
>>
>>9015938
no, because malco modes is a reputable company and will probably either cover the cost of the petti or send the girl a free one in return
calm the fuck down, what evil masterplan do you think this to be
'oh, I know, lets steal all the pettis of all the lolitas so they can never look cute again!!'
>>
>>9015944
I was thinking like she wasn't actually taking to a mm rep but I like the evil mastermind thing better. But tell me again, who needs to calm down?
>>
>>9015947
I'm calm, I just like to swear
so many people seem to be convinced that this is some sort of fraud or scam
why would it be a scam? someone got tired of waiting on MLT's waitlist? from what I've understood they contacted MM, not the other way around, so how could it be someone else?
>>
>>9014914
So do you still need donations? I'll throw you a little bit if you're buying a new one for them to look at.
>>
>>9015715
Not that anon, but regardless of how salty we are at her, she's still innocent until proven guilty.

It's just a scalloped design, it's not patented. Unless she's claiming she came up with that idea, or something?
>>
I'm convinced the MM drama is only exploding like it is because there simply isn't anything else going on in the online comm atm. It's absolutely a non-issue.

If the worry is that MM won't properly reimburse the person who sends a petticoat then...why not simply...ask? "Okay MM, I'll agree to send the petticoat if I am guaranteed reimbursement or receive another free petti of my choice."
>>
>>9015938
Not necessarily a scam, just ill-advised. From what she's been saying about her conversation with MM, I wouldn't be surprised if they're expecting her to make a wholesale petticoat order from them once they hash out all the production details.
If that's the case we'll probably get to see a whole song and dance about preorders or Kickstarter or whatever in a couple months, and you know how well those tend to go.
>>
>>9015968
considering several people emailed them, not just her, and they asked about how much interest she thinks there would be, it's highly unlikely
>>
>>9015971
>several people
>how much interest kim thinks there is
Right, several people and an amateur guess totally means they'll have a sustainable customer base. Why would MM do a relatively small production run on their own dime for a niche clientele that they don't have any real numbers on? Nobody's surveyed the comm at large for what they want in a petti, the price point they'd pay, etc. That's not even bringing into account the number of people who talk about how much they want one but won't shell out the money when the time comes.
Sam's (the manufacturing side of MM) does do customized versions of their base pettis for a higher price, and wholesale orders of petticoats made to spec (which is what this would most likely be), but from the business side of things it would be a risk for them to do this themselves without any real information.

If she is in fashion and used it for school, there is a 99% likelihood that it is self drafted. Or even if she didn't, if it's something she is proud enough to present like that, it wouldn't be copied or from a commercial pattern.
>>
>>9015823
It is not a classical puppets petticoat. It has a custom printed label and is a different design to the CP ones. I've had mine for a while and it doesn't deflate. It's very fluffy. The only fault I can see with it is that the lining is slightly shorter than the petticoat material so it can be a bit itchy, but I generally wear another deflated petticoat under it anyway for extra oomph

Don't worry, no scam here. I'm not sure which side you're saying would be scamming, me or them, but I can say no to both.

>>9015959
No no, no cash! I wasn't looking for cash donations, please keep your money. I was looking for spare pettis that people didn't need anymore for whatever reason. Someone did contact me about donating one. Sorry for being unclear!

Skepticism is good, I'm glad there are comments like this! I'll send them a clarification email to make sure that they're not planning on making this a wholesale scenario. I am 100% not interested in pooling money via KS or any other method and will never do that.

I had to go check out what you were talking about. Here are caps for everyone's entertainment.

It sucks that this is how she had to learn (everyone telling her that the dress she spent money on is awful), because I think it's one thing if someone is reading a blog and they find out that lace monsters are bad on their own/by themselves, but everyone commenting was still pretty cordial. She just took it so personally...no one was even saying anything about *her* specifically. It sucks to be told that your dress is ugly but, what are you gonna do.
>>
>>9017850
When did thoughtful concrit become bullying and meanness? People need to stop asking for opinions if that's not what they actually want. Or were they looking for proof that the lolita community is full of meanies?

Why not just show them a Lolita dress with one of their regular, non-altered pettis under it, then the same dres with the petti trick so many of us have used to make theirs work and close up photos (or a handy diagram) of how we do the tacked tucks in the first 2 layers? Between the technique and the shape difference under a dress, they will 'get it' right away and see what shape we want. Using one of their models they are familiar with, 582.

Good. People who pull the 'lolita at heart' bs and the ones who ASK for but then argue with concrit are my 2 biggest peeves. If I ask for concrit and get something vague, I might ask for clarification or how I can make it better but I thank the people who post for taking the time to reply, blunt or not. Concrit is (ideally) a favor you are doing for someone to help them improve.

Is she sure she was actually looking at posts from this group or looking at things on her newsfeed and seeing posts from other sales groups? I'm in that group and I've seen nothing that didn't fit the measurement minimums the mods put up in order to have proper plus size items in the group...sorry that you can't find anything in your size in this group but nowhere does it say "your size will absolutely be found here"...it's a personal sales group, not a shop, whatever is up there just depends on who's selling what. she sounds legitimately mentally ill.

I think she just made the video from a neutral 'reporting' standpoint because it IS a current topic. Youtubers make videos on current topics in their channels but don't always voice an opinion either way. It gets views and it's very promotable in search because it's a popular topic in the online community. Her channel is monetized, right so it's not rocket science why she made it but avoided being opinionated one way or the other.

The FB thing is true but happened back in 2012, they aren't doing it anymore...

From RC: Uncensored.

Quite honestly, I don't see why people are getting this upset over this? Yes, it's gross misrepresentation of J-fashion, but it's coming from Chelsea Handler, a comedian who's known for offensive "humor". So long as it is known that they do this.
I've been a dresser at fashion shows before and the models (mainly the males though) sweat to disgusting amounts, we had two people mopping this guy and he was still dripping sweat (granted this was a winter show in the middle of summer). But people try on garments in stores, there isn't much difference. And if it is true that buying here is cheaper than buying from brand, it's worth the potential of someone having worn a dress for an hour or so beforehand.

>Mommy issues: The thread
>>
>>9029056
Locks for kids doors though. No... They abuse that too much.
>>
>>9029387
Most bedroom door locks are just the type that open with a really generic key. You just put the key somewhere easy to get to for an adult and it's fine.

I grew up with locking doors and I can only remember one time in my childhood when the key was used and it was on the bathroom for one of my brothers because he was throwing a temper tantrum.
>>
>>9029635
If the parent can still get in then there's no point unless it's because of terrible siblings, or living in rape-city.
>>
>>9029635
To add, it's bit of a fire-hazard to regularly lock room doors. If there is a fire and the kid needs to be rescued, it's that much more time for the parent or firefighter to get in. It's really just not good practice. If the parent steals from the kid, they're not giving them a lock. If the parent wouldn't steal, then there's no point.

Damn those three are cringy as fuck. R keeps on posting shit like lolololol you #lolcow on every damn thread she can. Not suprising the girls jumping down P's throat are edgelord tumblr itas
>>
Also only just joined RC: U and already starting shit
>>
>>9034381
She's gone back and commented on a couple older threads too
>>
>>9034327
I think she is misunderstanding why people are upset/reposting her. It's not exactly what she is saying, it's how she's saying it. Incredibly rude and entitled.
>>
>>9034359
She's also specifically trying to stir up shit in older threads.
>mfw R is in my comm
>mfw I have no face
>>
>>9034316
I think most people agree with her original sentiment. But then she went full retard about her leaving and blah blah im da #1 fat shamerrr. Like girl, no one cares. Just leave quietly you random edgelord.

R is like a 12 year old who just discovered 4chan. Lolcow maymay topkek.

I have nothing against her, but I think anyone who's been to a meet with her will agree that there's a pretty funny gap between her online and irl personas. Online, she's like this. irl she may say the same things, but mumbling slowly and looking down.
>>
>>9034928
I'll never really understand this. The other way around makes more sense since in IRL conversation there is much less downtime to review your thoughts and filter your response than there is online, so someone who is a total spaz in person can be very calm and collected in writing. But people who talk shit online but are awkward little dweebs in person? If anything, things you say online have bigger consequences than things you say in person because it can be logged and read back later. It doesn't make sense to me.

Either way, then good; I can't stand Handler's obnoxious ass
>>
>>9034928
Been to many meets with, her, don't really agree? She talks normally... Like I get not liking her, she's tryhard and edgy and spends a lot of time #feelingherself but at least use real reasons

>But people who talk shit online but are awkward little dweebs in person?
they are thinking the same type of things they post online, but are too pussy to say in person. this builds up a lot of pressure and they let loose online. when you are a nervous or shy little dweeb, what you can physically say is limited by the physical effects anxiety has on you. without the physical presence of other people, that anxiety no longer serves as a "filter" and then such people can feel almost elated and overconfident online.

i hope that makes sense. basically shy dweebs seldom learn appropriate interaction because they are controlled by fear, so they engage in juvenile behavior when that fear is absent because their social skills are literally immature.

I don't think you know what it is.

What fabric did you get your petti made in? My hard netting ones have held up well but I'm not sure about her organza or voile.

Thanks for the caps, anon.

Fuck this is why I'm always tempted to go lone lolita. Every time a lolcow leaves the comm I think "hmmmm maybe it will be better now" but then another steps up to shame the AZ lolitas.
Why can't you people just be fucking normal human beings?
>>
>>9034300
Fun fact about blue here, her likes keep popping up on my feed and they are mostly racist jokes.

>i'm in that group

that group that literally doesn't exist anymore, you're late Janice

Must have
>>
>>9035644
Yeah, the replica thread got deleted by the OP, and good riddance.
>>
Has any one else noticed the cross over between RC:U posts and cgl? I think the RC:U posters feel like they are being sneaky but in reality they are just outing that they talk shit on cgl.
