New sewing group anon here! I hadn't thought about it, but I think it could be good idea. So far, all of the people I've gotten requesting to join are people with 7+ years experience sewing, most with pattern drafting experience and just a few who admit they aren't super great at sewing but they're looking for a group who actually discuss sewing and not "is this pattern lolita".
I think the description is doing a good job of deterring complete newbies from applying, but if I feel a tagging system is needed I'll implement it. I just feel like all the other groups with tags are kinda stifling, conversation wise, so I'd want to do something different than big sisters and lfm

Honestly, it might be too late, but we wanted to at least try to establish something helpful. Restating the whole point of the group is important, to remind people that they can speak up when someone posts something stupid.
I've also previously stayed pretty hands-off to avoid cries of favoritism/elitism, but I'm going to try to be more involved in an effort to show people that they can post good, honest feedback.
