And Mori girls?
I am really getting into the fashion and was wondering if anyone else here is.
I've been wanting to get into it too, but the only pictures of girls wearing it that I ever see are the models for taobao shops.
Does anyone actually wear mori?
Would anyone be willing to selpost?

Op here. I am trying out a co-ord but I dont have a photo. I'll go take one
>>8987543
I wear natural kei sometimes, pic related.
From what I understand, mori kei isn't as popular in Japan as it used to be. More popular in China nowadays.

Op here
This is just me being experimental so forgive me if there are too many mistakes.
I want these stockings but my calves are too big.
This is a cute outfit
>>8987643
I dunno, depending on the size you order these may fit you perfect or be way too big!
I used buyee to get the 3L size (for the 350 yen sale) and they're massive in the lower leg!
(My calves are 13.5 in around).
I'm going to get my mom to take them in so they fit like leggings at the bottom.
Fit through hip, waist and thigh are perfect though.
>>8987765
They look nice. I have huge calves from lifting weights D: but they look like they should fit.
>>8987769
Thanks! I'm sure they'll work out for you!
Going to dump a mix of pics from old threads and Google Images
>>8987765
link or name of store if you still have it?
>>8987543
I don't have any recent coords, but here are some older onces.
Outside of work I mainly wear mori-kei. I always feel very comfortable in the loose clothes and layers .

>>8989130
I purchased them from http://www.rakuten.ne.jp/gold/soulberry via buyee shopping service.
I don't see them posted in the shop anymore, but it's possible they'll restock.
Hey guys, trying to put together my first mori outfit ever and it's a bit more complicated that I thought! I'm especially finding it more difficult to find suitable male clothing. I do wear female jackets and such on the regular anyway, and I found this at my local Rue 21, but I'm not sure it really works for a mori look or not. Trying my best to not be the mori version of an ita. Opinions?
>>8989134
You are so super cute, anon. Where do you get your clothes from mainly, if you don't mind me asking?
>>8989615
Thank you so much anon!
No not at all, I get most of my clothes from Aliexpress. I know that a lot of western mori girl get their clothes from thrifting. But I am horrible at thrifting and I personally really like that mori 'magazine' look. These are some of my favorite shops:
And around fall/winter I always check local stores and stores like H&M for knitwear.

I really love the look of Mori, however I don't actively dress in the style. However, I have ordered some mori style pieces- If you guys are looking for new shops, try Yesstyle.com. They have a ton of mori themed shops on the site, just look up 'forest' or 'mori' and you should find them.
I pretty much have always dressed this way subtly
Here are a few inspos
This one is nice
Anyone have hair accessory ideas?
Lacey headbands? Mushroom hair clips?
I'm at a loss.
Another inspo drop
>>8990660
There are a few ideas for hair. I think Mori kei is about being simplistic but effective.
>>8990660
You can use a lacey headband with this style to cover the back elastic that is not lace. Leaving out some wispy curled pieces would make it look more natural.
>>8990660
Here is a nice page I found
http://dearmisskellie.blogspot.com.au/2013/11/mori-kei-wardrobe-essentials.html
I love homeless in a cold city chic.
>>8987543
I'm wondering this too. Where do Japanese Mori Girls post these days? I know tumblr has a comm kind of, but what about street snaps and stuff?
>>8990819
As another anon mentioned, mori has nearly disappeared in Japan.
There are still some followers of the style that post to sites like coordisnap, codenote.jp and wear.jp
The majority have gone back to wearing more simple natural styles though.
Current mori street snaps are very rare.
>>8990789
I laugh, but I am literally posting this from the library.
>>8990050
Thanks so much, anon! <3
>>8991162
no problem!
I especially bought a lot of clothes from Say-Buy Discount Store (second link). I always received great quality from them.
Any cute dress for Spring and summer? Mori style is perfect for cold season but for the hot ones is troublesome.
>>8990915
Like.. If I had to explain this to a normie that pretty much how I would explain it, but add in the words 'pastel' and 'earthy' and 'layered', I'm pretty sure the cold city thing would already give that last part away.
>>8991966
I'm homeless
>>8992151
Nobody cares.
>>8992152
I'm chic
>>8992154
If you spend money on jfashion when you are homeless I can only assume you deserve it for not spending money better
>>8987579
I used to have a hat exactly like that, but it fell into the sea and is gone
>>8992160
My clothes come from dumpsters
I live in a cold city

Mori was a fad/trend in Japan in around 2009. Fads tend to die quickly....
The western groups have stayed with the style, but I think even that will die at some point. What keeps it alive is unlike Lolita, Mori was always kind of on-your-own-time/do it alone type of fashion. I've only seen a handful of meets and they are always small.
saving this thread from the brink of death
How would someone go about dressing in Mori in the warm summer weather?
>>8997461
I tend to wear thin cotton/linen one-piece dresses, culottes, and bat sleeve tops that don't cling to the body.
Then add accessories to enhance the look.
Will dump a few snaps from Mori girl lesson 6, which was the final issue based around spring & summer style.
More sort of summer appropriate outfits

>>8990660
I agree with >>8990664 completely. The hair styles are usually simple and messy. Loose braids with flowers are pretty common.
Some common accessories are flowers, flower clips, flower crowns, headbands with flowers, knit/crochet headbands, barrett (the hat, not sure how to spell it), those straw hats, fur earmuffs, fur hats, etc. Though none are really necessary considering many girls use natural or wavy hair styles and look great
I love the idea of mushroom and butterfly clips but haven't found any yet. but I'll keep an eye out!
bump to save from oblivion
>>8987579
Yeah, when I visited Japan back in 2011, it was pretty much dead.
I am glad that there's still some Chinese brands that are still devoted to the more aesthetic.
>>9005173
that chunky sweater on the right <3
Anyone know where to grab a good quality oversized cardi like this?
Tossing up some older coords.
I still wear mori during colder months, but stick to natural more these days.
>>9008114
I'm getting some good results by searching for oversize(d) cardigan on aliexpress.
