This thread is for everything plus size+j fashion related

Has anyone really dedicated themselves to finding plus sized resources? I have a few that I've personally ordered from which are listed below.

Plus sized tights
>https://www.etsy.com/shop/TejaJamilla
>https://meimei-charm.taobao.com/?spm=2013.1.1000126.3.ZDBHNJ

Plus sized petticoat options
>http://www.malcomodes.biz/

I will continue to increase the list/possibly make a google doc as I find stores and hear recommendations.

I'm not exactly plussize but I thought this would be the best thread to ask this question in.
I have very large breasts and I find that whenever I put on a dress that's supposed to have a natural or lower waist, all of the fabric goes to the bust area, making it look more like a high-waisted dress, which is very unflattering.
I've tried minimizer bras and other ways to flatten my chest, but the problem remains. I have broad shoulders and a narrow waist, so without emphasis on my waist I look like a linebacker in lolita.
What should I do? Are there any brands, Japanese or indie, that have longer than average bodices?
I made pic related to illustrate my problem.
>>
>>8984242
I have this problem too and I'm definitely not even near a plus size. I probably have a lot smaller breasts than you but I have noticed that push ups and longer straps helps a lot. I think my bust just sits kinda low?
>>
>>8984084
Sorry for the stupid question but what are the measurements?
>>
I'm plus sized (mostly due to my bust of 98 cm) and attempting to get into otome kei. I'd really appreciate advice if there is any or even someone to talk to it about!
>>
>>8984242
DD cup here.

Adjust your straps so they're longer (move buttons, carefully handsew some similar fabric to the ends of your straps to make them longer and add the button) and lift the girls up. Use a good bra don't use a sports bra. I also used an underbust corset but didn't tightlace so I didn't get shelf-boob. I just used it for added support in combination with a good bra.

The waistline would sit closer to my natural waist all the time and my bust would sit fully inside an empire waist.
>>
>>8984271
99cm busty anon here. I love ETC's full back shirring pieces. Comfortable and well-fitting even with my small minimizer underneath (because it makes my bust more proportional to my body). You can find otome-able blouses in high street stores and on Aliexpress/Taobao.

Honestly I prefer matching the width and color as closely as possible, so that's why I suggest sewing. If it's done carefully, there's little to no damage when removing it. But then again some people would say that just being larger damages the dress. So ho-hum whatever.

Be sure to watch out on length though, particularly on older styles. All my old ETC OPs and JSKs have a really short bodice compared to other brands which isn't ideal when you have boobs making everything ride up.

Yep, binding and/or minimizers are optional! There are no dubious fit-issues like stressed shirring or seams at all.

I forgot to mention that cuts with defined waists are more what you should look for (like pic related). I have a couple of ETC's fully shirred back OP's/empire cuts, but I find they emphasize my bust so I have to throw cardigans on over them. I've also heard that Leur Getter's dresses are generous, but I don't have first hand experience. There are some pieces with fully shirred backs, so I'm assuming they would be just as comfortable as ETC. If you like, I can take some pictures when I'm home tomorrow.

I have 2 of these blouses in size XL and they are great for otome. The green and yellow are accurate to the pictures and they fit me well.
Green (cheaper than the others)

>>
>>8984057
So I gotta ask, which combo do you think works better for fatty-chans?
>OPs
>JSK +Blouse
>Blouse +Skirt

I would say JSK plus a blouse, but finding plus size blouses in working styles is pretty hard
>>
>>8984980
Also curious about this
>>
>>8985062

Really depends on your body shape I think. Apple vs pear.

I'm a pear so its a bit easier to get away with. I can technically fit into OPs but I dont think they look flattering. When looking for blouses I only buy from taobao and have had a good experience, although I'm about a 90cm bust so I'm usually able to fit the L or XL blouse size.

But yeah anyway, I'd definitely say JSK+Blouse is the best. And if you have chubby arms then long sleeves look more flattering imo
>>
>>8985062
JSK and Blouse is my mine go to but I love OPs more which means I tend to buy a lot of indie custom sizable brands, not a big deal.

There are some brand OPs that would actually fit me too actually, but not much.

As for blouses I just pay for custom sizing those too or commissioning a blouse.
>>
>>8984980
Broad shoulders can be minimized by necklines that either drag the eyes down (vertically) like deep Vs or that run diagonally at an angle and the like. As for a wide torso, wearing clothes that cinch at the waist would help make you look more narrows. If you don't like that kind of cut, try babydoll styles. They're pretty flattering for people with wide cribbages and shoulders, unless you have a tummy, in which case it can emphasize the area. Structured clothes are perfect for concealing flab.
>>
It makes me happy to hear how much ETC and Leur Getter can stretch, but does it still boobloaf in an IW sort of way (like due to having a cup size above B)?
>>
>>8984945
a-and I thought my 98cm bust was annoying af. My condolenses, anon.
>>
>>8985112
Thank you for this, anon. I'm a petite girl with linebacker shoulders, so this will come in handy!
>>
>>8985112

I dont know what the neckline is called but the first one on the wide shoulder lines (the off shoulder type) is freaking beautiful
>>
>>8984934
They don't just say it though.
You'll stretch out the seams and elastic and possibly even tear the lining a bit if you're at the maximum size.
>>
>>8984917
I can't really say the same thing. I have two ETC full shirring dresses, and the maximum would maybe be 95-98cm, you could probably squeeze in at 100+, but it'll most likely fuck up the bust seams. My LG dresses have been fine though.
>>
>>8984271

With the debate over whether the item will fit or not, have you ever considered alterations?

I have a friend who gets a lot of items altered and they look really nice. She often takes them to a seamstress and has the fabric from the waist ties put into the side seams. You can only do this with JSKs however and not OPs.

Also I dont think the resale value goes down that much to be honest. She has sold altered pieces for about their going rate since there are other chubby-chans looking for larger pieces.
>>
That feel when I lost weight and got down to a 95cm bust and a 71cm waist, and then but most of it back on again and am now at 105cm bust and 74cm waist. Half my brand fits terribly again, I can't believe the difference 5 kilos makes.
>>
>>8985253
I think I might depending on if I like it enough. I'll probs just shelp it to truly darling or someone local.
>>
I'm a newfag-fattychan and in the process of losing weight but I'm scared I might have man shoulders too. What measurements would confirm if I am or not? And you measure your shoulders like the length across your back right?
>>
>>8985815
At least when you get a smaller waist manshoulders make it look even skinnier.

>>
>>8985822

>>
>>8985822

>>
>>8985822
I know anons like putting it into fat and tall girl's heads that if they alter their brand, it must sell for cheap.
A professional alteration isn't a damage. There's no reason to sell your brand for super cheap unless it's heavily damaged or the alteration was amateur.
>>
>>8985822

Yeah anon like >>8985858 you shouldnt sell it for super cheap. If the alteration is done well you should sell it about the same as retail. There are always busty/chubby girls looking for a buy. Plus it saves them the scare of getting it altered themselves.
>>
>>8985870

*sorry not retail price, whatever the going price is for the item. Of course dont include the cost of the alteration
>>
>>8985247
Yeah, but I've seen people here bitch about how something is irreplaceable damaged if the shirring is just slightly stretched at all. Say the max is 110, and the person is 96cm. Yeah, I get that stretching a little will make it not fit on someone who is very petite and small-framed. It's like, if you're going to complain, don't buy second hand. That's the risk you'll have to pay when buying other people's used clothes.

That said, I've seen some really stretched out stuff. I've gained weight and I've maxed some of my stuff out or are close to it now, and I try to avoid wearing them until I get the weight off.
>tfw: lost a lot of weight and gained it back due to medications not agreeing with your body and fucking up your life.
>>
>>8985213
I dunno if there's a technical name for it, but I always see it called 'deep V' or just 'off the shoulder'. Victorian era ball and evening gowns have that kind of bodice (especially the 1860s, my favorite) and I think it's flattering on plumper girls.
>>
>>8985822
>I'm getting a breast reduction this summer

why..?
just get a better bra. its cheaper.
>>
>>8986923
I don't think you actually understand how much large breasts suck.

>commercial clothing isn't made to fit them so shirts are either too short or too large everywhere else

>you have to buy expensive bras that you can only order online

>bra sales people will lie about your size to get you to buy bras from them

>you will forever be lewd or hot as opposed to cute

>they sag and make you feel like an old woman and are not pretty at all

large breasts suck so much.
>>
>>8986923
... you're kidding right? Not OP but I'm an F cup, there's not much that a "better bra" is going to do. And most girls with large breasts already have good (and rather expensive) bras because otherwise we're in pain all the time.
>>
>>8986975
There's a separate thread because it can be hard to find plus sized clothes in any fashion.
It's not an admittance of shame, at least not for many of us, it's a specific topic to discuss more in depth rather than derail an already existing thread to ask about sizing or alternative options.

How about instead of having to feel pious and make yourself feel better by coming to thread obvious not made FOR YOU you spend your time doing something more productive.

>Bra sales people will lie about your size...etc.
This is the most annoying thing. I absolutely hate the stores telling me what to do when I bother to ask if they have x size with y cup and they don't carry it. Online forever.

>>8985822
Like others I would be very interested. Don't sell too cheap. I say sell it at those prices and remember that custom means something is unique, even if it is just a larger size for that garment. You paid for it to fit, let someone else pay you back for those fees. Any busty chan who isn't new would gladly pay because they too know what's up. We've all paid extra for that one we couldn't let slip though our fingers.

>>8984945
Taobao has some cute stuff for people like us anon. Indie brands too, though the vetting will probably be hit or miss.
>>
>>8986943

At what point is someone considered pluz size, gulls?
>>
>>8988259
over 130 pounds
>>
>>8988259

To me I think this varies from a cgl plus size to an american plus size.

In American clothing I think of plus size as size 13+
But in lolita and jfash I think of plus size when you have issues fitting into clothes/brands and thus have to look for other alternatives. So even mildly chubby girls or large breasted girls can benefit from "plus size" lolita resources since its more difficult to obtain the clothes in larger sizes.

i'm super broad in my ribs and shoulders, my bust isn't that big but i just have a giant + long ribcage so a lot of dresses don't zip and are too short. i only buy jsk's with adjustable straps because i always have to add an extra inch of fabric to them. i try to draw attention to my waist and downwards, so i put most of the detail in my shoes and legwear and keep everything on top relatively simple. i also like long wigs for disguising my shoulders.

You have to take weight, height, bmi, fat percentage to muscle ratio, age, frame, race, sex, etc into account as well as measurements.
I'm speaking from experience, I'm very short and I used to be very heavy.
Currently I'm still overweight at 62 kilo's (bmi 25.8), I'm 155cm (or 5'1) and my bust is 91cm.
I fit a EU womens size 40 and sometimes 38 which are not considered very large but on my frame it is!
I'm definitely plus sized too.

Working hard on that though!

anyway, trying to save this thread from destruction by ignorant people, how do you feel about the new Meta series candy bottle? it's got a full shirring JSK and like a 3/4 shirred OP. I'm interested in this really mature take on a sweet theme.
would be really good for country coords

Man I always forget to check on metas new releases !
I'm sure something cute can be made of this dress. Also although normally full shirring looks terrible, I feel this type isnt so bad. With the small detail in the front it at least adds something

>I own this type of cut from Meta, but with the Happy Bell print
>>
>>8992385
this is like standard white girl sizes.
I'm 28,24,39.
>>
oh also I think metas happy bell is awesome for country looks. I'm putting a coord together for mine.

I might go for the OP, back shirring is usually enough for me. I love the print. They don't really feel like candy jars though, more like jam jars. Stuck on the colorway. I really like all of them, it's hard to decide!

I...I know clothing sizing is mostly bullshit, but naming it after flowers isn't exactly helpful either.

>being fat
>>
>>8993573
You realize that's not curvy, right? It's pear shaped
>>
>>8993916
I'm 36 - 26 - 39 and white. Checkmate anon, that's hourglass according to every way to measure it.
>>
Do you guys think there's any market for selling brand that's been altered to be more plus size friendly? I know the resell value will go down since technically it's damaged, but would that be the same for a "rare" print?
>>
>>8993909
Did you seriously just post a naked photo of yourself on /cgl/ for validation on your measurements?
>>
>>8986943
I feel you, narrow backed 32k cup here. May I ask what the tipping point was for you? I have welts from straps and its scary when men treat you like you are not real. I've stopped going out to clubs & bars because of this. Also lack of sensitivity. And for that sag test you could fit a 12 pack of felt tip pens! But they are not pissing me off that much yet and I feel so bad that you feel lewd, not cute. I think mine look frumpy in lolita. Its not quite the fit for a lot of popular dresses but i think with enough pouf you can disguise them well.
>>
>>8993920
No? A lot of the time they say that if your bust/hips arent the same you arent hourglass, even if the waist to bust/hips ratio is big.

There is literally no ass in this photo... what are we supposed to be seeing?

>that file name tho

It's difficult to find good plus size brand, so if you've altered it and the alterations are good, theoretically all fat people should be falling all over themselves to take it off your hands.

However, whatever size you alter your dress to, there's really only a rather narrow handful where girls are big enough to fit into it, but not too big for it, and also have the cash to pay you. Plus size isn't all one size, most girls in lolita already fit into brand sizing, and a lot of the rich lolitas seem to be skinny. So there's certainly a market, but I'd say it's not big, seems pretty niche.

As for the resale value, it's rare to see any altered brand go for anywhere near their original retail price. I've seen things like altered Chess Chocolate (way back when it was popular) go for less than half price. That on top of "rare" prints being a fickle thing, the most popular "it" print changes every week according to AP's release, and the older rare prints are sought after by a much smaller group of girls, so your niche market just became even smaller. All in all, I really wouldn't count on being able to resell even a rare print at retail value after it's been altered.

Personally I'd say to alter your favorite dresses anyway if you really love them, though. At least you'll look good in them, which is what really matters.

THAT is basically hourglass. The person responded to is not.

Is there any hope at all for someone with a 102cm bust to pull off this op? I usually just admire sack dresses from afar because I know they don't flatter but I have a weak spot for this one.
>>
>>8994800

I dunno, I once saw a girl with huge breats wear this type of cut and look adorable. I unfortunately dont have any photos because it was from an irl event.
Are you just busty or over-all heavy? I think if you are just busty you might be able to pull it off. If you are heavier, then maybe thing about some way you could cinch the waist? Like maybe a belt but idk if that would look retarded.

so, care to tell everybody how your first day on /cgl/ went?

Oh, but anon,
>According to their founder and CEO Hayat Rachi, “Neon Moon is mindful to all in our community, as some people are triggered by measuring.”

Too many people are getting triggered over knowing the physical size of their OWN bodies! They need code names to PROTECT these poor numerophobics!

Cripes, those comments...
>>"I went shopping today, and - while I miraculously found a too-small bra that I can cram into (I'm a 46JJ, which doesn't actually exist anywhere) - after an hour I left with nothing. Which is pretty typical. And I was ready to drop $50 on a shirt. One of the BIG problems is that stores like Penningtons - and all "plus" stores - start their lines too small, and carry too many small sizes. Every season is the same thing: racks and racks of X and 1X clothes, and none in larger sizes because they've all sold out. I almost never see anyone sized 12, 14, or even 16 in plus stores. And why would I? You can buy those sizes in countless other places, for less than half the price, and for better quality. IMO, "PLUS" standards should start at 16/18 or 2X and go up to... whatever. And can we PLEASE stop calling people like Ashley Graham "plus-sized". She's not."

Speaking as someone who's always fluxed between a 12-16, no, if I go to 'normal sized' stores and hope to find tasteful products in the plus size section they're either sold out or the clothes are hideous sacks. Alternatively, I hate most plus sized stores like Torrid and Lane Bryant because the ONLY body types they cater to are for tall fat women. They don't care about short fat women who have smaller bone frames. They also overcharge so why the fuck should I buy a Chinese sweatshop shirt for $60 at Torrid when I can source it for a third of the cost online.
So yeah, while I could buy an overpriced garbage shirt for $50, or buy their ridiculously priced pants I would have to get it altered.

I just feel so marginalized. There's no such thing as overweight women anymore. There's only 300 pound cow tumblr fatties or normal size.

Have you tried looking at plus sized taobao stores?
>>
>>8994864
wasn't me, i missed that shit (unfortunately). i've just seen people use that website in past measurement threads, when 90% of the time it's 100% wrong
>>
>>8994870
Yep, have them bookmarked.
Imo though it's not worth ordering from taobao unless you've got enough money to do a haul.
>>
>>8994874
Could you share some of them?
>>
>>8994879
Not that anon but a bunch of store can be found looking at the taobao doc on the taobao thread. They're marked as plus sized and everything
>>
>>8994886
Thanks! I'll give it a look,
>>
>>8994868
Torrid's end of year sale is a good time to get bras. Bogo and discounted pricing. Everything else is just... not great honestly. Pants are thin, even jeans, and lasted only one year without patching. But my bras are still like new...recommend store buy because sizing is kinda bananas. Their bands seem to be loose.

>>8994800
I've seen a few look good with interesting belts and waist chains. Rosary beads would look cute.
