Got my Bodyline skirt in for my Free! themed nanchatte and I dunno, something just seems off?

Tried the skirt on right out of the bag and didn't remove the stitches Bodyline puts in the bottom of their skirt to hold the pleats down so maybe that's it. Either that or I need to ditch the bow and just zip the athletic jacket all the way up.

Any suggestions? Also excuse my mirror, didn't notice the smudges before I took the picture.
>>
>>8964712
Also anyone have any sporty/athletic nanchatte inspo? I've only see wearing tennis shoes with the regular school uniform.

I'll try to keep an eye out for more alternatives for nanchatte. When I found >>8963857
I thought it was kind of cool.
>>
>>8964712
i'd personally prefer the jacket completely unzipped, you kinda look like a tube right now
>>
>>8965282
I'll try it on again after I've taken the stitches out. I was actually surprised by the material because I thought it would be like the amazing solid grey Bodyline skirt I had that was thick material and held the pleats fantastically but this is a different fabric and it's like.. the in between of that fantastic skirt and then the shitty little thin fabric skirts on Bodyline they were trying to get rid of for like 250Y.

>>8965294
Thanks for trying, anon! I'll play around with some search topics and see if anything pops up. If I find anything, I'll share!
>>
>>8965300
Yeah, I see what you mean. Maybe that's what was off and I couldn't figure out what it was. If I remove the stitches from the skirt and it still looks like that, I'll try the jacket unzipped.
>>
>>8964712
I would try unzipping the jacket all the way and have a sweater vest under it.
>>
>>8965308
I'm wearing it to a summer convention so I don't think a sweater vest would be too good for me in 85F+ temperatures. I'll definitely look into it for the Autumn convention though! I might just ditch the jacket entirely for a sweater vest by then.

Do any gulls have good recs for western stores to get blouses at? I've found skirts online no problem, but I can't find any blouses to fit due to my chest size (110 cm).

Also I should add, I'm about the same size, a bit bigger (114cm), if you look up "port authority button down shirt womens" you'll find the Port Authority brand has larger options, and a bunch of color options in case you want a blouse that isn't in white.

Does anyone have a good source on some authentic high schooler bags? (The wide rectangle ones you can wear as a backpack or over the shoulder, preferably not made of real leather?)

I see the same cheap ones from China on ebay all the time. I would prefer to buy from a store that ships directly to the US but I am okay using a SS.

I did see the ones on Conomi but nothing else.

These are up for sale, only worn once each from my 2008 jfash phase.
Red and brown skirts are woollen and the blue/navy one is just cotton. They fit a 68cm waist.

Red - $20 (has built in shorts)
Brown - $20
Blue/navy - $10

Shipping from Australia, can do cheap untracked shipping if you're willing to pay by gift. Email up there and feel free to make offers too.
My sales feedback is at www.lacemarket.us/author/empire/ if that makes a difference

So jelly. I'm attending the local community college in the fall and I've been tempted to use my nanchatte bag for classes but I don't know if I'm brave enough to wear nanchatte itself.
I'm more uneasy about adult weebs than normal adults.

First of all, these aren't really suitable for nanchatte
Second of all, you can buy cheaper skirts on aliexpress/bodyline, including shipping, so you should probably try lowering your price
>>
>>8966129
Just do it. Maybe it depends on the size of the school, but I never got any comments from guys, or girls. I think the worst kind of weeb you're thinking of will probably be too shy to say anything. Also my Japanese class was full of them, and only my conversation partner would compliment me, but nothing like "omg you look like a Japanese schoolgirl!" Funnily enough, my Japanese prof totally noticed the resemblance to uniforms, but she said it was very cute.

Come to think of it, I've also done a few classes at college (It's Canada, so I guess that's like your community college). I wasn't quite wearing nanchatte - it was a pleated skirt, ivory otks and a black turtleneck. I passed by a group of freshmen (I assumed cause they looked so tiny) and one of them started teasing another by saying it's rude to stare. So standard stuff, but I wasn't harassed for being a weeb.
>>
>>8966195
not AYRT, but from my experience the worst kind of weebs are the exact opposite of being shy.

>>8965302
Which solid Grey Bodyline skirt do you have?

Been thinking about ordering a couple of their pleated skirts the next time the shipping/prices aren't insane for casual wear and possibly trying out nanchatte to see if it's something I'd like wearing.

>>

I bought it in Japan..I tried to find it online but I couldn't. I got it at Don Quijote (Donki) in Akihabara. They have a huge, and cheap nanchatte section in the store. I believe the brand is either sugar academy or school academy, I'm not too sure anymore since I threw away the tags and inside the tag doesn't have a brand.
>>
This might be a stupid question, but how many of you guys wear nanchatte as sort of a nostalgia thing?

I've been wanting to get into it (haven't been able to yet but hopefully soon!) because I have always liked cute uniforms, but the other day I had a thought and maybe I also want to get into it because I want to feel like I'm fulfilling something I didn't get to do. I grew up watching and reading series about (and still do sometimes) school life, and while of course those are far fetched and unrealistic, I didn't have a "normal" high school experience, it was a very traumatic time for me. It's been 5 years since I graduated and I'm starting to feel old.
>>
>>8967279
I only wear mine to conventions currently but it is pretty much because I can nostalgia all I want without being seen as weird/fetishy because everyone else is dressed oddly too. I get so sad when I see group photos of nanchatte girls going on day trips to amusement parks and stuff because they're living the dream, really.

Those pictures of nanchatte girls at amusement parks are so bittersweet.

I feel a little nervous about wearing it because I don't want to come off as weird or fetish either. Part of me would like to be able to use nanchatte as a work "uniform" if I can get away with it. I guess that's kind of weird but honestly there's some days where I struggle with picking what to wear and that would simplify things as well as make me feel like I'm getting to relive am idealized version of my "school" days. God, I sound so creepy and pathetic. I guess it would just be nice to be able to feel like I'm making up for having such shitty teenage years.
>>
>>8968311
It's only fetishy if you dress like a slutty 12 year old and/or trying to get fucked(which isn't my business on that part) . People keep repeating the difference between nanchatte and your typical HT slut costume but I guess people refuse to realize that.

I'm fully aware of the different between nanchatte and "slutty school girl." That doesn't mean it won't look fetish to other people though. I live in the Midwest which does not help things.
>>
>>8968315
Different anon but just because we know the difference between a totally normal school uniform and a fetish/sexy one doesn't mean normal people do. For those of us living in areas where school uniforms aren't a thing or are like pic related, we're worried that it's going to be seen as fetish wear or even a "living doll" outfit by anyone that sees us.

That may not actually happen but it's hard to not worry over it, especially in areas where just wearing anything other than jeans and a tshirt gets you looks and comments about "Why are you dressed up?" and "You trying to look sexy?"

I know you're trolling but if anything, we're the one turning to a fashion to cope with issues. Three of us have already admitted to wanting to wear nanchatte to relive the ideal high school experience because we all had a shit time in actual high school. Hell, that's how the fashion really took off in popularity in Japan.

Don't worry anon, it's a nostalgia thing for me too. I grew up going to private schools that were so strict about modesty we were never allowed to wear skirts so I feel a little cheated.
It seems like quite a few people who wear nanchatte are making up for the ugly uniforms of their past.

I got pîc related because I was so smitten with the color of the skirt. However it just bareeeely covers my ass. I was thinking of pairing it with black tights, loafers, a pink button up and a white baggy cardigan. Would that work or is all hope lost?
>>
>>8970836
White shirt, black cardigan, black tights, black shoes. And don't wear that hideous pink bow in the image. Let your skirt be the statement piece. Maybe tie it together with hair accessories that match the skirt's color if those are things you like to wear.

Honestly though anon, the skirt is kinda shit because if you can't go out without wearing tights to cover your ass...maybe you shouldn't wear it. Especially if thats not the look you're going for. Do you though - good luck!

I am curious about what Japan thinks about adults wearing nanchatte? From what I've heard, girls stop wearing it once they are either out of high school or officially become an adult (with the exception of school reunions at amusement parks). I would imagine then, it must be frowned upon for someone in their 20's and 30's to dress like that?

Even though it doesn't matter because I don't live in Japan, I do have to say I'd feel less awkward about wearing it to know it's considered acceptable.

>>8966461
>>8969032
Oh that's fantastic then! The photos make it look like it's see through polyester, but I'll take your word for it being nice. Now I just have to decide between the navy and grey, I like both so that's tough, and then hope Bodyline fixes their dumb website.

Also, this is dumb, but I can't wear cardigans because they make me insanely uncomfortable, and I don't like blazer jackets. I'm worried that will take away from the look though, because all the cutest outfits feature cardigans.
>>
Noob here, are loose socks a dead thing already or are they still in?
>>
>>8971146
It's been posted a lot here but nanchatte has changed in Japan.

What you're talking about, that's more what it was before? When high school girls would change into cuter uniforms to wear after school hours to hang out with friends because most schools have stricter guidelines so very little to no makeup and skirts can't be too short and overall, they're not that cute?

Now, nanchatte is definitely more for adults than the high school students. There are shops open that cater specifically for nanchatte uniforms and there are online websites/forums for nanchatte. Interviews with nanchatte have been posted a few times and it's generally adults who want to relive their school years and have a better time than they did the first time around. It's not just women either, there are men nanchatte as well.
>>
>>8971147
I see loose socks some in street snaps. They were most popular with kogal though and I'm not sure if that's still a thing or not.

Thanks so much for the information. Maybe I've never seen modern interviews/articles on the subject, because I've never seen one with adults, and the girls would usually say they would quit nanchatte once they reached adult age. Sorry if that subject has came up a lot, I'm only around once in a great while.

I wear nanchatte at work more or less three times per week. Two of my colleagues said it does not look like I am trying to be sexy, but it may look suggestive. I do not care much.
>>
Quick question... I'm trying to find a specific style of shirt for a nanchatte, but I'm not quite sure what to search for on Taobao. A polo-collar short sleeve white shirt with a pocket on the left breast. Polo as in the buttons don't go all the way down. Preferably cotton. I can check my local thrift stores, but it's such a specific look and while I'm getting other items such as bows I might as well look on Taobao.

Any ideas?

So, I got my first skirts and they fall to where most girls seem to wear them, but I also have a big ass and I feel almost like I'm going to wind up flashing someone.

I plan on wearing opaque tights under them, but aside from that, does anyone know of any stores that'll do custom sizing? I'm not to keen on the idea of accidentally showing anyone my cheeks.
>>
>>8970948
Don't worry, I definitely was not intending to wear either the shirt or bow with it. I appreciate your tips. I probably won't be referring to it as nanchatte now that I think about it, but it's still cute as fuck and I'd like to style it somehow.

I'm really into GFriend and Lovelyz lately, all their MVs are incredibly aesthetically pleasing. They're both supposedly done doing school concepts for the time being though, which makes me sad. At least their music will still be great and they'll still all be super pretty and cute no matter what they're wearing.

Definitely recommend watching their stuff for nanchatte inspiration.

>>
I love Lucy Pop's ribbons and scrunchies so much, they are just really cute looking!

I also really like all the cute school bags, but I have absolutely no need for a bag like that.

I really wish I could find a skirt in navy X dark green. I don't think I've ever seen one in those colors.

>>8973190

>>

It was more of a review of the event more than clothes (save for that "such great quality" comment).

I can't decide between brown loafers or black. I prefer black because I feel black matches everything but a pure white outfit, but I like the soft look that brown ones give some outfits. I also have to admit that I'm not a fan of loafers in general, I can't figure out how they were considered professional looking when to me they feel so frumpy.

So, I want to know, brown or black loafers? Why? Is there a shoe you prefer to loafers?

Personally I'm more laid back about the shoes of nanchatte and think anything goes so long as it doesn't look like something a stripper would wear.
>>
>>8973302
It's spring so it'll be hard to find dark colour skirts. I bought a green, Navy, red one a while ago from Taobao. It was the last one, and it got lost in the mail. So now I can't even buy it again because it's all sold out.
>>
>>8974507
I prefer mary janes to loafers, because I also think loafers are pretty ugly. Downside is that mary janes are definitely less waterproof since they've got a big hole on the top of the shoe. Minus the hole you put your foot in.
>>
>>8974507
I really have a soft spot for heeled oxfords. Ankle boots for fall/winter coords too.

I do like loafers quite a bit though. For some reason, brown loafers give me a stronger nanchatte vibe, if you will, but I can't explain why. I own three pairs of them though, so I really don't know which colour to recommend to you.
>>
>>8974507
I actually like wearing sneakers with nanchatte. They're functional when you're on your feet all day and can look well coordinated depending on what you get

this is the link to see all I have for sale and their labels.

I am selling all of my conomi clothing. The skirts are waist size 60-64 cm
The blazers and vest/cardigans are size S. I'm linking a folder with all the photos of the items so you can see that some of them still have the price tag and all of them are real (not imitations). The condition of all of the items are new, I have not worn them anywhere therefore I want to sell them. Prices are:
75$ for skirt
50$ cardigan or vest
20$ for blouse
15$ for tie
45$ for scarf
90$ for loafers (size 24.5, fits 6.5-7.5 depending on thickness of socks)
+ shipping
Here are the photos of all the items and their labels. http://imgur.com/a/OtvDc
Note: Pink blazer is not conomi (so not for sale unless anyone wants to buy it as well, its Ralph Lauren), but all the others are.

>>

You're thinking of a yoke.

Cute first attempt though!

I really wanna do some outfits with my bodyline skirts, but they need to be ironed and I'm too lazy to clean my iron. I'm hoping posting in this thread will motivate me.
>>
Is it weird I'm making a uniform to wear to a high school alumni spaghetti thing they hold every year? It's casual and most people wear school spirit stuff, their old jerseys or letterman jackets if they can still fit the stuff.
We didn't have uniforms but I tried to petition for them once.
I also want to do it to show off I still have my trim athletic highschool body while most the other women have turning into cow moms of huge girth and flapping arms so soon.
They used to be mean about my acne.
>>
>>8987220
Yes I ship worldwide
>>
>>8987357
If other people are wearing school spirit stuff I think it's fine, you'll probably fit right in.

Though you say you want to show off your body, desu skirt aside nanchatte doesn't really show off that much, so just be careful that you don't make your skirt too short and end up looking fetishy or something. You can always tone it down and wear tights instead of kneesocks etc. to be on the safe side.
>>
>>8988611
Nono. I get that, it's just a tiny bit above the knee, much longer than my finger tips which was our dress code for skirts. I look like a block in the shirt, nothing sexy about it.

It's just /that/ obvious that I haven't turned into a hamplanet like most of them by the fact I still have legs at all.
>>
how bad/unusual is wearing patterned tights in nanchatte? I know white and navy plain tights/socks are the norm, but I went to an event recently wearing some pseudo-nanchatte (all western items and no neckbow/tie) and went for dark argyle tights because I had no others I could go for and it was balls cold outside. I'll probably post pic of the coord a bit later, don't have it at hand right now

I think argyle is really cute. Socks that have two or three horizontal stripes at the top are cute too. Short patterned socks work well with sportier outfits like >>897131 and >>8971310 . Horizontal stripes otherwise would be too much I think, same with other patterns on otks (maybe it would work well with a pastel seifuku but those seem more fairy kei anyway depending on styling). thanks on the input! I'd love some general crit on my look. please disregard the wig, it was a mess and I gave up on it halfway through the event. I feel like it looks a bit too plain, but I don't really know how to accessorise this. also, does the skirt work? it's not a true pleated skirt and it has some weird buttons that were mostly covered.

(also, do you think a scarf could've worked instead of a tie/bow? I don't think I'd have had a fitting one at hand at that moment anyway, but for future reference...)
>>
>>8988905
Actually I don't mind the wig, but I think altogether the outfit isn't very cohesive. I think if you compromise on one thing it would work but with several it just doesn't.

I think the skirt would work but it would look better with plain tights, as the patterns clash pretty badly there. The tights are cute, but would look better with a plain-coloured skirt and maybe one that was longer so you can't tell where the pattern cuts off.

The other problem is that the v-neck on the sweater is kind of wide so it leaves awkward empty space. You'll notice that pretty much all the photos in the thread have a v-neck that isn't very deep and is very close to the collar. I have a sweater that's similar though not as side and I get around this by unbuttoning the top two buttons and wearing more casual footwear, but I think this is too wide even for that.

So I would say

>nix the sweater for sure and
>change either the skirt or the tights

It's a terrible first attempt, it just doesn't quite scream nanchatte to me. Keep at though anon, and you'll be looking super kawaii in no time.
>>
>>8988976
*it's not a terrible first attempt

hurr durr I need to proofread better
>>
>>8988976
sweet, thanks for all the input! I definitely agree that it's not very cohesive haha, I basically threw it together in 15 minutes the morning of since I realised I have some items that might work. I'm pretty new to j-fash in general, I'm a recent convert to nanchatte from lolita.
if I got a really big neckbow would that maybe help the empty space? I'll have to get another sweater or two or five anyway but I'm wondering if I could somehow still make it happen with this one. maybe for something really casual? legwear wise I already got myself a new pair of white overknees as well as tights, and I have some dark grey kneesocks somewhere but it was too cold for them that day. (and trust me, the wig was a mess. it was sliding back constantly and my hair was making escape attempts, in the end I just gave up on it.)
>>
>>8989119
Honestly, I think it may be for the best to give up on that sweater, the bow may help but it's not a sure thing. I think a black sweater like this and a pleated or 3/4 circle/skater skirt and kneesocks or tights would make a really cute general jfash/borderline normie outfit but it isn't really nanchatte (that's just me though - I'd like to see what other anons think as well)

>>
>>8991751
alright yeah, no worries, guess it just wasn't meant to be. thank you!
>>
>>8988905
My biggest issue is everything looks ill-fitting here. Do you see how the skirt seems to hug so low on your waist and the v-neck seems scrunched up?

A baggy sweater must either be really low and cover a lot of the skirt if you're going to wear it or it must be small and well-fitted up around your torso.

You honestly just need to get rid of those tights because they clash with the pattern and coloring on the skirt. Use either some black thigh highs or some nice white socks that go a bit under the knee.

The blouse needs a cute tied bow on it, otherwise it looks a bit masculine actually, like it's for business.

The wig just doesn't fit for this. It's raggedy towards the end and too long. It looks like it'd be better for almost something like Mori Kei. Consider a short brown wig with much smaller braids if you want that, or just a nice plain brown shoulder length wig.

For shoes, since I do not see them, I recommend some black loafers.

Hope that helps! Post again when you think you got it more refined. I'd like to see how you progress.

yeah, the sweater isn't the greatest fit on me. I feel like the skirt would be ok with a baggier sweater though, maybe? it's not fully pleated as I mentioned, which is probably why it looks strange.
those tights were the only things warm enough to go out with that I had so that's sorted out, as I said I got some new white tights and OTKs.
lack of bow will be fixed as soon as I get around to hunting for a bunch on ebay or aliexpress or something.
the wig was a load of fuck as I said, a friend and I were trying to fix the braids and they ended up looking shitter than before. I'll just redo the braids some day, but yeah the wig was originally meant for lolita. just need to find somewhere with big caps to fit all of my damn hair.
I think I was wearing sneakers or wellies because of weather constraints, but yeah shoes are a thing I need to look at as well. I'm not a huge fan of the loafers look, would mary janes work instead?

thank you! as I said this was a pretty quickly thrown together thing, but I appreciate the tips a lot.

Gotta say, I hate those sort of loafers. I keep seeing them in store/online and being excited for half a second thinking they're plain ones, then seeing the fringe and being disappointed.

>>
>>9005327
Not that anon but I think it might be able to work. It'd help if you posted pics of what you mean.

No problem guys! This is pretty much the only thread I check regularly so I thought I'd contribute a bit instead of lurking.

Anyway, what styles do you guys like best? I really love the look of kogal even if it's pretty dated. I'm a sucker for loose socks.

A while ago I had the chance to go to a nanchatte hanami, and instead of putting together a cute kogal outfit I panicked last minute and bought a plain sailor uniform at harajuku bodyline. So much regret. (Pic semi related)
>>
>>9005393
I love kogal and I'm trying to get around to making one.
>>
>>9005393
I got some loose socks, don't know if I'm wearing them weird/wrong or if I got the ones that are too long. I'll show you when my new skirt arrives so you can tell me.
Well, skirts. I have 3 ordered. I'm already into lolita and vintage silk kimonos. I hate my savings account obviously.
>>
>>9005434
I've been eyeing the styles for years now, I can't personally super styled hair some do but I definitely want to put a kogal look together for fun!

>>9005455
Do you mind sharing where you got the socks? I haven't found any that I want to buy yet, trying to hold onto my money until I find all the pieces I want!

I love it all, but if I had to pick a favorite it'd be any coord with a baggy cardigan. Least favorite would be coords with official looking blazers. Too unflattering and too much like real school uniforms for me. I still like the opened or more fitted ones like this.

I think kogal is really cute, but I'm pale so I don't feel like I could pull the full gal look off.

I think this is a pretty cute example of a more toned down kogal look. I enjoy the gal look, but I try not to do heavy makeup as much these days.

Aside from kogal I can go for anything except really sailor style, I always feel awkward wearing it. Baggy cardigans are definitely a favorite too.

If it makes you feel better sailor outfits were originally a British thing the Japanese "appropriated" and they were extremely popular in the 1950's America as well. If you wear it in a more western way it won't read as Japanese at all to people not into anime. Pic related is sort of what I mean, but just swapping the pleated skirt out for a normal one makes it normie approved. It wouldn't be nanchatte then though.

This is the uniform! I got it at bodyline. It's very cute and the quality is great but I just feel like a little girl wearing it, if you know what I mean.

I want to add some pieces like a cardigan over it so I don't feel as weird. I have another sailor style uniform but it's just a basic one from Amazon.
>>
>>9005489
Yeah a cardigan and a bow could help tone it down if you don't want to change the skirt. I just wear it the typical way, but I feel the same way about the really girly and cutesy fashions like fairy kei. I really like them, but I feel too out of place in them.
>>
>>9004697
I had been thinking of getting converse for nanchatte but was worried since I don't really have any sporty jackets except my high school letterman one which is suuuper bulky
>>
>>9005503
I'll definitely do the cardigan then! It would be a waste to never wear this out again. If I pull something together I'll post photos!
>>
>>9005573
Why don't you try thrifting for one? I don't know where you live, but in the states it's pretty easy to find cool/vintage sports jackets that won't drown you.

Nike, Fila and Adidas have pretty nice things!
>>
Can anyone tell me the difference between these two? I'm a big dumbass and can't figure it out

http://lawrarashop.com/school-bags/candy-sugar-japanese-school-girl-square-round-school-bag.html
Is the first one just an older model and thus more expensive?
>>
>>9005701
>different colouring
that's the main difference. Do you only see in black and white or something?
>>
>>9005701
1. The dimensions are slightly different between the bags.
2. The pass case is a different style/size between the bags.
3. It appears that the old bag has a pink patterned lining; this seems to be absent in the new bag.
>>
>>9005701
$91 for a bag? Jfc. Anon they got the same bag on ebay for way cheaper.
>>
>>9005709
I didn't think so, but both looked navy w/ pink strap to me. Sorry.

>>9005716
Ooh, thanks. They dimensions seemed about the same to me so I missed that.

I know. I had that one from ebay and it tore on my second use. All it had was my climbing shoes which are pretty light.

I ordered this one last month, but on sale for 28.11 on Ali
Now I'm worried. Tracking number has had no info for 10 days. Hold me.
>>
>>9005975
I really loved the style but of course I didn't expect it to last long as a knock off (but longer than two uses ugh). I think I might try the fake leather ones with Hello Kitty etc. embroideries in the corner.
My friends have gotten some srs headaches from Aliexpress so I've never even attempted
>>
Do those bags last long? I don't have a good bag for nanchatte and I feel a little incomplete without one.
The things I normally carry are pretty heavy, so I go through bags very fast.
>>
>>9006831
I think it depends on if you get a replica or the real thing.

Recently bought this from bodyline, and can't quite figure out how to coordinate it. The colors are slightly more vivid in real life than on my screen. It's costume660
>>
>>9006831
I have a Candy Sugar bag and they're pretty durable. The feet have gotten scratched and a little worn over time, but still function great and the canvas has slight fraying, but no holes or anything obvious.

I used the bag every day for four months of university before swapping to a backpack so I could save the bag for nanchatte days.
>>
Trying to find a particular inspo photo, but its of an asian girl with a pretty short skirt and oversized blazer in navy, she has a scarf on covering her mouth a bit and I think a sweater (it might be beige?). Straight dark brown hair with bangs.

Realising I'm reaching a bit, but I really liked that picture lol
>>
>>9007257
Maybe a red vest and a white blouse would work

ha, I ordered this one since it's on sale for 7.99

The grey skirt I got from amazon is 4 sizes too big. I hate when the size chart is wrong. So sad.
>>
>>8966161
I would say short skirts are suitable for kogal. I used to think the same but I've seen lots of outfits with quite short skirts which still look okay. It's all about what you wear with it.
>>
>>9007508
>>9007736
thanks for the advice! I'm going to mess around with it tomorrow and I'll post pics of how it looks.

>>9008209
I think it's more than the length. Only the second skirt seems the most appealing in terms of pattern, pleats and thickness, but it's overpriced compared to, as >>8966161 said, other nanchatte brand new skirts.
>>
How long do you all wear your skirts in nanchatte? Knee length like real school uniforms? Or short like in anime?
>>
For smaller anons looking for more Western style uniforms: I recommend frenchtoast. They have a really cute Peter pan collar blouse, size 20 fits a 30in waist and 36in bust
https://www.frenchtoast.com/product/short+sleeve+peter+pan+blouse+lace+girls+4-6x-7.do?sortby=ourPicks&refType=&from=fn
>>
>>9008975
for me personally I like the median between the two lengths. Anime length is too short for me, knee length is unflattering, so I go for a few inches above
>>
>>9008975
I wear mine really short, with shorts underneath so no one can see my underwear. I try to balance the rest to look as much like a formal uniform as I can, so that it doesn't make the outfit look slutty.
>>
Does anyone know if socks dream's "harajuku scrunchy socks" actually fit like the kind of loose socks kogal wear? The model they display them on is pretty fat so I can't tell
>>
Do any of you have trouble with skirts flipping up in the wind? I live in a coastal city at the moment and was wondering how you guys stopped this. I've already considered safety shorts and skirt weights, but I'd be worried about the weights ruining the look of the skirt so any other suggestions would be great.
>>
>>9009030
Spats. That's what actual Japanese schoolgirls wear
>>
>>9008975
I like mine to be the length of my fingertips while standing with my arms at my sides or a little shorter. Any longer than that looks wonky on me as a 5'3" person.
>>
>>9008975
Half way between finger tips and top of knee.
>>
>>8970836
This looks slutty role play
>>
Does anyone here make their own nanchatte items?

So, since nobody responded I went ahead and ordered this out of sheer curiosity and wishful thinking.

Pic is how it looks in real life.

The quality is surprisingly good given it was only $10. The material is a crisp cotton blend and only the tiniest bit sheer. I'm a small in US size so I ordered a medium thinking it would be super tiny. I think it is too big so I'm going to try getting a small this time.

This is how it looks on. (Sorry for the bad pic and sad floppy skirt.) This is exactly the sleeve look I wanted, so I am counting it as a victory even if I have to wait another bazillion years for the small to get here.

No problem!

Sort of related, if anyone is interested the sweater vest I'm wearing in the pic is from Old Navy's girls' section. It turns out that a girls' XXL (size 16) is basically equivalent to a size small in regular sizing.

They are having a sale right now where everything online is 40% off with no exclusions and there's a free shipping/no minimum code until the end of today as well.

They're very affordable already ($6!), so this is a steal for anyone who wants to pick some up super cheap. (I bought 4 a few weeks ago, one of each color and then two more greys to dye darker.)

Oh, I have this uniform too! I wear it with a white Liz Lisa Doll cardigan and a bow that's actually a hairclip from Forever21. Pic related is the only picture I've bothered to take, sorry it's just a shitty snapchat from when I went on a vacation.
I'll try to remember when it's daylight out to take a proper outfit shot for you, anon.
