many, if they were black, they would be definitively EGL. the detailed cross lace, the silhouette, chunky shoes, and Michelin-man sleeves seen in many are part of the EGL look. >>8953951 is EGL by the numbers (right coord is basically >>8953936 which, if black, surely would not raise any red flags). makeup/styling is also a factor.
some are closer to classic, or are coorded in a fairly classic way (like >>8953934), but that's all right. the dresses themselves are designed in the gothic style despite their colorways. to reiterate the OP,

that is interesting, because it is one that seems furthest from the EGL flavor of gothic. i find a lot of people associate gothic with that kind of mature, retro, rather Western gothic look. it is not to my personal taste (i prefer the doll-like look, usually), so i almost did not save/repost it.
as for coords posted by other anon(s), i do not like some of them, and do not think some are gothic, but after over a decade of people like >>8955541, and after years of crusading myself in gothic threads here on /cgl/, i am a lot more relaxed about it. gothic threads are among the most repetitive, predictable image dump threads here, and i am at a point where i specifically look for a) unusual takes or b) iconic EGL/Moitie-style gothic because nostalgia and stuff.
