I can understand not going to Midwest if you don't have a coord, though. It is a very lolita friendly con and BTSSB have been a guest for the past couple of years, which is actually what made me return to lolita after a four year break. I'm not one of the people who was posting before, but cosplayers of things like Homestuck and western cartoons have been so consistently disruptive at cons that it's really hard for many of us to have anything but a very negative opinion of people we see cosplaying those series.
I won't complain about LoL at all, because gaming costumes have always been popular at anime cons and it fits the aesthetic, but I'll admit that I get a bit annoyed by how many people I meet these days at anime cons who aren't even into anime and only show up to wear /co/ or /tv/ stuff. I'm sure it's not the majority, but I've recently spent time around a number of people who were openly hostile and derisive of anime while cosplaying at an anime convention, and that makes me want to tear my hair out.

Cosplay only for the most part, but I've been open/am open to Lolita if I found other people close by into it. No Brolita though unfortunately, something more Aristocrat seems more my thing. My knowledge of the fashion is very basic though aside from knowing briefly about the different styles.

I do like me some card games (mainly of the boring 52-card variety), along with sports and vidya games, but I do understand not everyone else feels that way :P
