Oh I actually was about to do a scam with some fake dating profiles.
The setup was that I would take google-able panty shots and generic cam girl pictures from online, set up a basic ass profile, and write some sob story about how I would need money for rent or some shit and link the patreon.
Problem is, I had a little too much fun trolling on one fake dating profile before I set the plan into motion. I flat out mentioned the profile was fake in the bio, but there were still desperados messaging it. Apparently I buttblasted so many people they reported it and the mods b& me into oblivion. But maybe it's for the better, not sure if people can get into fraud lawlsuits for shit like that.

Because I started cosplaying in 1998 and we paid for it ourselves like people with hobbies do. We also made our costumes ourselves. So you never ran into anyone who wasn't a mega fan of what they were wearing. Which set up some decade long friendships and great conversation.

Patreon is like a last resort when print sales fall. What I hate are the girls that call themselves cosplayers and all their patreon is is lingerie and NSFW pictures. I actually gained some respect for Kamui. She said that she didnt' want to make a Patreon and start to charge for tutorials that she gives for free.
I know she has books, but all of her stuff is on her page/facebook and she even tells you where she gathers the information, unlike Lightning cosplay, to name someone that has already books and a store.

Rattle and Burn's Patreon seems worth it. Her craftmanship is insane and she major awards. Plus her rewards are things like her crazy patterns for specific things and tutorials for more elaborate things than usual cos tutorials.
