i've been playing the first game on steam, it's making me want to remake my celeste cosplay -- it was the first complex cosplay i ever did and it was decent for a first attempt, but with more experience i know i could do it so much better now. i also discovered apparently i am the same exact height and weight as naegi, and my friend is the same height and weight of sayaka, so we're talking about possibly cosplaying them together. she'd been planning to cosplay sayaka anyways and my girlfriend cosplays naegi so i could just steal her stuff for a photoshoot or something
i'm really excited for sdr2 to come out on steam next month!! ibuki has grown on me a lot lately, so i'm considering cosplaying her, which i think would be a fun challenge because i haven't worked with complex wigs much. and maybe someday i'll FINALLY finish my nanami cosplay lmao

oh lawdy that happened to me too, was when dangan ronpa was at it's biggest, I was at a pretty large photoshoot they called out every character for photos except Mukuro and I had to awkwardly say you forgot Mukuro.....
Now when I cosplay her I make sure to have a Monokuma plush with me....

I went up to a genderbent junko one time for a picture and he asked who I was even though I was wearing junko's outfit (but with mukuro's normal hair like in >>8926050).
another time someone commented on how I didn't have freckles when I cosplayed her. I naturally have freckles so I wasn't about to do freckle makeup over my real ones.They barely show up in pictures so I can see why they didn't realize it, I thought it was pretty funny though.

Almost every single time I cosplay Junko I have a Mukuro by my side, and she's resorted to just photobombing every time someone asks for a photo of just me. Which I'm totally okay with.

I feel you I feel you. Mukuro was the first Dangan character I cosplayed, walked right up to a Junko cosplayer on the day and she just blankly looked past me.
I normally cosplay Mukuro with my friend as Junko but you can tell most people have no idea who you are. I normally grab a picture of any Mukuro I spot and most of the time they tell me I'm the only person who recognised them (even with combat vest and monobear in hand)

With Komaeda's shoes you can get away with it having a bit of a heel, and you could also get some shoe lifts if you want to go that route.
Also it helps that his clothes are baggy, his jacket and loose shirt can help hide wide hips if you have them, also for his pants you could opt for straight legged pants instead of skinny jeans so they don't completely conform to your figure
Also straight legged pants for men along with compression shorts could help too but i think compression shorts may be a bit much (but it depends on what you're comfortable with)
