Fellow seagulls,

what are your thoughts on people cosplaying as kpop idols?
>>
So fucking lame.
>>
>>8913238
That's weird desu
>>
I like it, but only at k-pop conventions/events. Not at anime cons and -especially- not at concerts.
>>
>>8913842
>>8913856
How is it any different from cosplaying someone like, say, mana or utada? It's not common, but people do it.
>>
Personally,
I love it. Most people stick to the big names like 2NE1, BIGBANG, SNSD etc.
Do what you waaaaant.

i think it's ok, especially if it's from more "over the top" concepts, like pic related for example. also when people do dance covers, it looks extra nice if they cosplay as well

desu I really want to cosplay split-face t.o.p
>>
>>8914070
or anything orange caramel, the hamburger outfits have a special place in my heart
>>
>>8914071
Film actors are actual people too, dumby
You think these guys don't act on stage and in mvs?
>>
>>8914099
As if the actual person would wear a hamburger dress irl
Most artists play personas, like 'the tough one', 'the innocent one' and don't look or act anything like they do on stage
Keep your autistic weeaboo butthurt to yourself, nobody's gonna take away your glorious nippon
>>
>>8914097
>Film actors are actual people too, dumby
People are normally cosplaying as the characters and not the actors behind the characters
that being said I have seen a few Supernatural freaks who go above and beyond trying to look like the fucking actors and that's creepy

I don't understand all the hate itt. No one actually cosplays them as private people but as their stage/event peronalities.
>>
>>8914139
Yes autism. I'm really trying to understand both sides. Is it because of the word "cosplay" and not just saying they're copying celebrities?
>get the look
>>
>>8913871
>cosplaying someone like, say, mana or utada
also weird
>>
>>8914162
People who play characters on stage, nobody's dressing up as Sunny from SNSD in her pyjamas or anyone dressed relatively normally for that matter
People mostly dress up in weird costumes of kpop groups because they're cool costumes
>>
>>8914170
>it is still fucking weird. this is a persons image, not a completely fictional character
Koreaboos never seem to understand their idols are real people. That's why a shit ton of them ship idols and/or have gender and sexuality headcanons for them
Pursuing an argument with them is kinda pointless

Not just koreaboos. Everyone who's into idol culture
>>
>>8914174
Except I don't care about Korea or kpop and don't even know who these people are, your argument sounds like those idiots who say gay people must also be paedophiles because 'what's next?'

Shipping real people is disgusting, but I don't see why anyone dressing up as a celebrity is wrong. People go as Lady Gaga for Halloween all the time, how is this different? They're public personalities.
>>
>>8914183
>you are taking someone's image, a person who exists and lives and breathes and feels, something personal to them and wearing it for fun
They're fucking clothes

I don't see anything wrong with it.
Though IMO its a lot better when the kpop idol they're cosplaying as is wearing a recognizable outfit (OC,Crayon Pop, etc.)
I'd rather see a 4minute-Crazy cosplay group than a casual dressed EXO member cosplay.
>>
>>8914072
I know it's not Lolita, but burgerlita is all I'm seeing.
>>
>>8914178
Kyary's not an idol
>>
>>8914398
Then what is she?
>>
>>8914438
Not that anon but Kyary is a singer/model. There's a difference between being an idol and being a singer.
