Educated, reasonable people doing a complete 180 the moment females they have an interest in are involved is baffling. And this kind of plot, where a headstrong woman is "faulty" and can essentially be "corrected" because it's natural for women to be submissive to men isn't uncommon either. This is what loonies believe. That women can be coerced into very specific roles that are supposedly "natural" for them no matter what their inclinations. This is a bit off topic but anyway, I don't live near my school and i have to take the bus for a trip of 45 minutes twice a day, and in three years I've had a few cases of creeps. Even a stalker. this is the real problem, as evidenced by creepers of both genders. the primary offenders are neckbeards and fujoshits (and Love Live cosplayers lol). weeb culture is very sexual, fanart and merch aimed at both genders is often sexual despite asexual source material, and autists can't understand the difference between fantasy and reality.
the consumerism aspect of this culture was created to profit off of horny men, and women aren't lagging far behind in demanding more ways to own objects representative of their sexual fantasies. as long as anime cons celebrate and encourage sexual objectification, creepers will be a problem, and as dealers and programmers realize the spending power fujos have, women will make up more and more of these creeper stories.
