This is pretty accurate. It looks like the lolita comm there's the same way - a few people over 21, but a lot of youngins. They're not as bad as the cosplay kids at zap though; couple of them actually want to do well surprisingly and it's pretty fortunate that most who don't only lurk (hopefully they'll come around).

Aw, I wish I could. I haven't cosplayed in ages, so I wouldn't be much help. I wish there was more of a con scene over there; all I can think of is gen-con and it's not cosplay friendly.
The only two lolitas I know from Indiana include one who mostly participates in the Chicago meets and the other who is allegedly leaving lolita (which really sucks since I wanted to twin with her).
I feel really bad for a friend who's starting to get involved, but she's down in Terre Haute where it's a void of lolitas.

Not going to say where but we keep our comm tight, make sure to only invite new lolitas who already have at least one good coord, a decent grasp of the fashion and can be willing to come to nice meets. We send the itas and clueless weebs and cheap girls to a nearby comm already full of asspatting ita weebs who do mostly freebie pot luck park meets. It works out well.

I just saw another Kopf-con going to take place the same weekend as ACen in Columbus. I'm not an Ohio-fag, but I've been to some of those cons and I wanted to share my sympathy.
I wish that they'd focus on either their Iowa or Illinois located cons and improve quality-wise, not quantity. There are only so many calendar days for committed con-goers and cosplayers to afford to go to anyway.
