I don't wanna be a party-pooper (and you may already know this) but this is like bloomers you wear with Victorian-era period clothing. The women wore so many layers, they wore open-crotch bloomers so they could squat at their chamber pots or whatever else and just go without having to undress. I actually would buy these? I'm always worried about my wigs smelling like factory or that "yeah it's been stuck in a storage bin for six months" smell and it's such a hassle to wash them when they're right out of the bag and you've never worn them.

These are so lumpy and deformed. How can someone not see how shit they are? In all honesty I've done this. Its definitely tricky to do still but it does save you from having to dig your bloomers out from under the corset and then wiggle them back in under again. They overlap kind of like wrap pants (I don't have a picture to show this more clearly sorry) and are sewn in a way that you won't flash someone accidentally or get a cold draft across the coot but they're easy to part and almost completely bare your backside when in the right position for bathroom needs.
As to using modern toilets.... Back when I was at a living history museum, we had a single bathroom that was employee only and was also our dressing room. It was reasonably spacious since the house had been lived in well into modern times and only the public sections were restored. To go you'd have to catch the back of your skirts, lift, step back towards the toilet, plunk the skirts down over the tank and then blindly reach under and get your bloomers in order. You've basically got the entire toilet encapsuled in your dress. I've had to rescue my mom once because she got her hoop caught on the piping and couldn't turn around.
