People were saying they were too long, it was weird that they were plain, and she needed to get a lot better if she wanted to be able to sell them.

Glad people were actually giving someone a dose of reality for once.

>>
>>8902492
>>8902493
Someone posted about her in the last online comms thread >>8893661

As was mentioned then, you're probably just feeding into her martyr complex by posting her here.
>>
>>8902499
Yeah, I don't understand this either...in my comm people generally put their own birthday meets together.

>>8902492
I don't understand what the problem is...just have two separate birthday celebrations bitch?? One during the weekday for you and your man, another one for the comm? However it sounds like she has no friends or no good friends in the comm based off these posts? I'm assuming that because she sounds just so entitled and self-centered here. In which case, she probably has no friends in the comm who want to make her a birthday meet because she doesn't put the effort in to get to know anyone well enough. Plus, all this bawwing about people not catering to the fact that
>wah, my husband doesn't come home until this time and I'm too scared to take a taxi

so then...........make your own fucking meets? I can't stand people who complain about meets not meeting their personal needs. you can't cater to everyone and you can't cater to just one person all the time. if she really wanted to be apart of the comm, then she would find a way to get to meets. like fine I understand having that anxiety about uber I guess but there's plenty of safety apps and devices that she can take advantage of.

I agree with >>8902495 though, if she's as old as she seems in the profile pic for ants she seems way to fucking old to be this pissy (then again anyone beyond the age of like, 12 is)

what stopped you from making one?

>it's online comm drama.
it's specific to a regional comm. all regional comms have an online element, but that doesn't make them "online comms" since their purpose is to meetup in real life with local/regional lolitas. "online comm" refers to comms that exist only online, which could be more aptly described as discussion platforms.

i think given how many people make this mistake, the next OP should specify that it means places like daily_lolita, Rufflechat, LSC, etc., with a note to use the comm thread for regional discussion.

Someone made a thread about lolita moms and it ended up being a discussion on why a lot of lolitas don't like other lolitas bringing their (young) children/infants to meets and that even if a child was well behaved, they would be really bored. 14 year old pipes up and says something along the lines of "well, I am a 14 year old child and I really wanted to go to a meet but after seeing this thread I'm not so sure!"

Seems like she lacks reading comprehension skills because the comments were exclusively talking about very little children.

It is a natural thing for a lot of people. Finding attraction towards youth and innocence like that. For some it's an appreciation for things like "moe". For others, it seeps into their sexuality of no fault of their own. It's /acting/ upon the pedophilia that's terrible for obvious reasons.

Japanese also use rori often as a short form of lolita. it's not a big deal, it's just a cute short form of a long word.

what is a big deal is oujis who call themselves shota. please keep your unambiguously fetishistic terminology out of my meetups. if we don't tolerate sissies why do CP loving fujos get a pass?
>>
I don't usually come to this board so I don't know if this is the right place to ask.
I'm getting a 3D printer soon and one of my friends wants a custom chess piece from Jojo. I made the 3D model and I'm waiting for the printer to arrive.
What do you guys think is a fair price to charge for a commission like that? Keep in mind all she provided was a picture of the piece from the book, I had to make the entire model by myself and print it.
I don't want to rip my friends off but I also don't want to do cheap favors since I had to do the whole thing myself.

While ideallly you should set aside money for it, if you are someone who has a small budget to spend, it can be pretty hard to set aside the whatever hundreds you need for a 'dream dress' while actively building your closet up. And if you just spent money on a dress, it makes sense you cant just drop more money on another one right away.

Decide what you are willing to charge a friend per hour and add on materials costs. I wouldn't charge less than $15/hr to a friend (free to a really good friend) and i'm really really new to this.

>>
Is anyone else annoyed by body mod posts in RC? You can get your answer by doing a quick search. It quickly turns into some edgy hug box imo. Some of the responses just get painful to read.
>>
>>8929260
Most furries refuse to "identify" as a furry, because the label is associated with the creepy NEET men who fap all day to hardcore furry porn. I wear and make fursuits, and I won't even call myself a furry - most girls especially won't.

I know it sounds weird to hear someone say they do or don't identify as a hobby description, but it's not like a gender or sexuality. It's a subculture that is extremely hated, so you only identify yourself as furry if you're really invested in it, really trust the person you're talking to, or have no social standards.

But wearing a fursuit to a lolita meetup is in bad taste just like wearing lolita to someone else's wedding or a funeral. Consider it a gracious red flag of a sperglord, and avoid. Believe me, there's far more furries in lolita than you think, we're just more subtle about it via animal-themed prints or wearing fur shawls/etc. Or the abject avoidance of animal-anything, depending on the individual.

Most of the things in the 'Lolita sewing groups' look like this. There are actual Lolita patterns and pattern books for things and they have been published for many years now. Translation software for scanners exist yet this 'loliable' shit and trying to lolify subpar western costume-quality patterns continues. Why, God, why?
>>
>>8901538
Where is she posting them? I'd report the posts cause that shit's not lolita. I can't think of anything lolita that this would even coord with.

Then I guess they get what they deserve if they can't manage to buy and translate a pattern. Not invited to tea in that shitty costume handmade though so they better not cry about that either. I have an odd question.
Over the years on cgl, I hear a lot of drama stories. They blow up and the person either doubles down in bitch town or says Sorry, I'll change.

Has anyone seen one of these people actually change for the better? Or do they all just leave or shut up. Really curious desu. Not sure I've ever seen someone become liked or respected after drama. In lolita anyway.
>>
>>8931861
The only time I've ever seen drama whores get slightly close to transitioning into normal people they always end up saying some shit like "You aren't allowed to judge me on my past! I've changed and if you try to bring that stuff up you're bad and i'm the victim!" and the drama starts all over again.
So I've only ever personally seen these people leave or fade away.
>>
>>8931866
I often see drama whores slink away and then try and come back half a year later hoping everyone forgot what they did. If you bring it up, what you said happens.

Although, I did see one girl start drama years ago and get full karma'd by a new girl drama-ing her in the same way recently, which was kinda poetic. I guess that's kind of a happy ending.
>>
>>8898148
They are ugly and poorly made
>>
>>8931861
I can only think of one who changed for the better and doesn't bring up her past. On the very few chances it is brought up by others, she takes responsibility, but doesn't make excuses for it. She is a much better lolita now than she was then, but keeps a very low profile online now.
>>
>>8901735

I actually know someone like that. She did a total 180 and is now kind of a mentor to new lolitas. In fact, if you ask her about past drama, she will take full responsibility and use herself as an example of how not to be a shit. She did her best to make amends to not only the wronged party, but the whole comm.
I wonder if they are the same girl?

Either way, it's nice to know that people can actually change for the better.

>quoting: how does it work?

Kind of off-topic:
Sometimes I wish we could permanently delete stuff online. Like, for example, the girl that turned around. She'll forever be known as a terrible person and everyone involved gets reminded of it no matter how much they want to move on. They are just kind of...stuck with it forever.
I didn't have the interwebs as a young'n, so all my shitty mistakes weren't dissected. I'm glad no one was there to remember me being a dumbass growing up. Shit's embarrassing, yo.

>It's scary when you think about it, man. Hope I never get like really fucking drunk and fuck up (or worse, go psycho) or it'll stare me in the face
>...forever.

On topic:
Anything you wish you could erase from cgl? Or your weeb past? That you released into the void of the net?
>Like, imagine if your first con were recorded online.

TL;DR- The existential horror of the Internet never erasing shit... Your ita photos, shittalking, and crappy 11 year old YuGiOh X Tenchi Muyo fanfics are out there...
>Sleep tight.
(Sorry for late night rambling)
>>
>>8932139
Post this question in the ita thread, or the weeb horror thread. It's really not suited to the online comms.
>>
So on the topic of past dramallamas, I just found out that a certain sour grapes lolita is apparently moving to my country and joining my comm. All I know about her is that she's been kicked out of several communities in the past for being a nasty two-faced bully, but if course now she's claiming she's changed for the better. Should I give her a second (or third or fourth or whatever) chance or keep my guard up?
>>
>>8932222
Given she pleaded 'I can change I can change!' repeatedly then just last year kicked off drama again, no don't give her a chance.
Tl;dr version is she banned a girl from CoF for no reason other than being friends with the girl she bullied. Girl asked why and got no answer, got over it. Fahr posts a coordinate to CoF that also has aforementioned banned girl in the image. She also gets banned without warning, as do several others who simply commented on the picture. Fahr being Fahr calls it out, Sour grapes immediately adds a bullshit rule that you can't post pictures of banned members to cover your ass, gets called out and quits the group and declares she's left the fashion forever due to how triggered she is by it all.

>>
>>8932899
>what is sarcasm
>>
>>8932323
Not so much a drama llama as capable of turning the mob on. She frequently referred to other lolitas (and wank comms especially) as ogres. The implication being that only she and her frilly followers were the true lolita princesses. So she has some rabid fans who were nasty.

I'm honestly kind of tired of people looking at the past with such rosy tinted glasses. There wasn't "more of a lifestyle element" to the fashion back then like people keep insisting. Anyone calling themselves lifestylers got made fun of for being deluded, and usually for not having any clothes, ffs. The most popular/envied girls in the online comms were also the biggest bitches that everyone was scared of crossing. They made the lolita fucks comms, and also made eatfuckingcake in response to the lifestyle push for "lolitas should be lovely and ladylike!"

And just a note, I'm not saying their picking on convention itas or making people fear they'd be posted to wank comms was a good thing. What I AM saying is that everyone remembers this period where lolita was about having tea and being nice to your fellow frill-wearers, and it really didn't exist except in small, individual pockets. The overall situation was almost never about "the lifestyle" unless you were someone who didn't have any lolita clothes to begin with.
>>
>>8932139
Tbh I've been thinking about this for awhile and the best thing you can do if it happens is just own it. I get drunk a lot and say a lot of stupid shit and when people ask me about it later I just double down and act like it's not a big deal and everyone moves on.

I don't get lolita humor sometimes. Much of it is actually funny, but it seems like lately, I'm seeing also a lot of childish jokes like the pussy bow blouse and Lolita the Orca. Idk if I'm getting old and the lolitas are getting younger or what.

good times.

To be real though, while in my opinion, there was a lot more closeness among lolitas back then, I'm fine with the way things are now. I don't want to go back to the days when there were only a handful of English sites and willing shopping services, and seeing a lolita at a convention being a general rarity.

I feel like maybe it was an artificial closeness, really. I'm still friends with the lolitas I knew back then, and I have even more lolita friends now, but there are just so damned many followers of the fashion now that it FEELS much more distant.

We were a lot more niche than now (not that lolita has gone mainstream), and I think that created a false sense of intimacy, maybe? But yeah, would not go back to the days of unreliable shopping services or crappy translations.

>>
>>8942517
Oh I hate when buyers go "I wish I could buy this but siiiiigh" and even more so when they drag in something completely irrelevant that I as a seller give no shits about. In fact, if someone dragged in something so pointless as "I'm saving for transition / moving out / name change / new car / etc" then I'll make a special note that if they ever comment on another post of mine with the intention of actually buying, I make up an excuse not to sell to them because odds are, they'll either flake or string you along with "Something came up, could you hold this a few more days/weeks?"
>>
>>8942517
>wish I could have it but I'm saving up for a transition
Ok love, that's some very relevant information
>>
>>8942645
god, seriously. Like, that's great and all, whatever, do your thing, but no one fucking cares. I don't know why people bother posting shit like that on sales posts. No one fucking cares if you can't afford it for one reason or another. If you aren't gonna buy it, don't post.
>>
>>8942643
This, besides it being totally unnecessary and the fact that no one cares, it reeks of the commenter attempting to get the seller to lower their price or make an exception for them or something.
>>
>>8942517
I wish more groups would ban these kinds of comments.
>>
>>8942645
>>8942648
But but they said they wished they could HAVE IT. They don't want to buy it, they want the seller to pity them and gift them a beautiful dress otherwise they're transphobic.

No, seriously. I had someone pull this shit on me years ago. They'd comment on items I was selling they wanted and never once mention the word 'buy', they'd simply talk about of how pretty everything was and oh how they wished they could HAVE it, especially since their first convention was in a few weeks and they'd love to cosplay for the first time. When I told them they were welcome to purchase what they liked, they got all huffy and told me "I haven't got the money for this, I just paid for a convention ticket!" They never had any intentions of actually buying my items, they just hoped if they lamented hard enough that I'd take pity on them.

>>
>>8943428
el oh el. seriously though. "sorry I'm just trying to build a wardrobe" so then you admit this was a lame attempt at trying to get the seller to lower the price out of pity or just give it to you?

I think everyone deserves to have nice things in their life but there's certain times where you need to choose. If transitioning is important to you, but you don't have the money for both that and a luxury fashion hobby, then you need to pick. You're not always gonna be able to do both. Sometimes you need to wait that extra month (or 2, or 12) in order to afford your next purchase. People need to face the facts that while yes, everyone *can* be a lolita, not everyone will be *able* to.
>>
>>8940701
Lmao that group sucks so hard, I had to leave it because their posts were triggering me. Literally no fun allowed

>>8942657
Teenagers seem to do this (spam sales posts with "I want it but have no monies"), too, but not necessarily because they want to stir pity, but they want to hold some sort of conversation with the older lolitas. It's pretty normal when you're in your teen years that you have little to no money of your own to control, or if you are lucky enough to have an allowance, you have to scrounge up to save. And they don't really realize this behavior on comm posts is actually annoying as fuck for the adults who have jobs that pay (especially for the adults who have jobs that are hard work and low pay).

Once those teenagers grow up and get a job, though, they will usually put those moments on their oh-god-why-was-I-so-cringy-back-then-list that we all have.

This person looks old enough to know better, though. Yes, transitional surgery is expensive, I'm sorry you were dealt a shitty hand of fate. But literally nobody cares about what financial state it puts you in now. If you have no money to bid on a sales post, then butt out, nobody gives a damn I'd be fucking ECSTATIC if I was given a Monet painting out of the blue, but that doesn't mean I'd go to art auctions and say about any Monet piece I like "I want it but can't afford it."
