I've personally used kairai in the past. They're a bit slow through and I've lost some auctions because of it. The larme kei group on facebook also lists some others: chibitenshi, and Jpn depot (they are a forwardig service like tenso but apparently someone had success using them. I thought fril wouldn't work with forwarding)

I'm thinking of trying Chesire's Chest on Facebook next.

Japonica does mercari for a steep fee, they also do fril along with Chibitenshi.

I've been doing the same thing, at this point I've just adopted a 'sod it, if it looks like something that could feature in the magazine, it's going in' attitude. I like to put everything in dedicated folders but I suppose even my sperg level only stretches so far, it's a god damn revelation.
>>
>>8870666
Well Popteen just features an array of trendy stuff and the Larme style is trending right now so I'm not surprised that they're done a few things that look like hey could be from Larme. It's only a few pages here and there so I wouldn't recommend people pick up popteen just for the Larme like stuff. At least scans are more readily available.

I'm a little stumped for spring. I guess I'll see what brands start coming out with, but most of my Larme stuff right now is long sleeved and better suited for winter. I guess I'll mostly be wearing dresses in the spring since I don't have many good short sleeved separates.

I want brands to make more tops like this older Crayme one. It's super casual but it has cute details that make it pop. I don't want to be wearing blouses and stuff all summer.
>>
>>8870964
I think I'll be shopping at mall stores and just editing it to fit. Like, it sounds lame, but adding some small bows and lace to a f21 shirt and it comes out about the same. I'm just worried for what colors will be in season, it's hard to find the pastel stuff after a certain point.

Yeah, in winter we were all complaining because there's not much leg coverage, but now that it's warming up I'm realizing my cutest shirts are sweaters or long sleeved. Plus all the layering will no doubt have me sweltering unless i'm smart about it.

There aren't many shorts in larme, are there? I have a pair of lacey shorts from F21 that i had been thinking about using in a coord but now that i think about it more idk if that would really work

>>
>>8871054
not the same anon you've been replying to, but if the shorts are lace I'd say to test them out and see how it goes! They would probably look nice under a transparent skirt if you have one.

I also have a problem with finding shorts to match. I might consider making DIY shorts with lace trim because unfortunately a girl can't stick with skirts forever.

>>
>>8872741
if blonde hair suits you, I'd say to keep it. Although brown and black hair is the most common in larme, I have seen purples/pinks and some blondes. As long as you follow the rest of the fashion, I feel like the color of your hair shouldn't matter!
>>
>>8873405
020 has a few sections that specifically show winter outfits and how you can modify them for spring, but that mainly involves removing a layer or two.
I really love this issue as I think it does a good job of showing all the different 'types' of larme fashion (for lack of a better word)
>>
>>8873428
I really disagree with this, but it's just my opinion so not gospel. For me, dyed blonde and unnatural hair colours throw off the entire look. Especially unnatural colours, there's something inherently immature about it.

Is there such a thing as a sensible, weather proof larme coat? Japan has cold winters, so I imagine they ones we see are warm, but they also have really dry winters. I've never seen one that looks waterproof or one with a hood.

At the moment I'm stuck with a normalfag coat because it's just too wet to contemplate wearing anything that doesn't have a hood, and it's too windy where Iive to just use an umbrella.
>>
>>8877196
Japan does not have very cold or dry winters, unless you're in the mountains or somewhere far north, anon. When I was in Tokyo it was relatively warm (compared to the northern US) but rained almost constantly; it was awful. It might not have rained a lot amount-wise, but it seemed to rain every other day.
Larme, like many fashion styles, tends to privilege look over practicality. Why not just go with a practical coat for the months when it's nasty outside?
>>
Where could I find some cute low-heeled shoes/flats?
>>
>>8877218
Well, I'm in the UK - one of the rainiest cities at that, raining every other day would be considered amazing weather here. All of the Japanese people I know have complained extensively about how wet it is here compared to Japan in the winter, speaking in terms of humidity too, because it's often heavily misty/foggy and all of the houses have problems with damp.

When I say they have a "dry winter" I mean that they're a summer rainfall area, winter is their driest season.

As for cold, I imagine the lowest temp here is pretty high compared to the northern US.

>Why not just go with a practical coat for the months when it's nasty outside?

I have been thus far, but it's always nice to see if there's a way to be cute at the same time.
>>

What about a cute wool coat? You could pick up something in pink or white, even black if you like the darker larme looks. Wool wicks away water pretty well and at the very least won't get bogged down just by some rain. It's not fully waterproof, but cute and waterproof are mutually exclusive and you're going to have to live with that.

It might be hard to find something with a hood, however.

I've got pic related curly hair. Do you think it can be easily relaxed to be lame-curly without too much heat? People have suggested braiding it before but it always comes out looking really bad, I think my hair might just be too thin for that? Any tips on products that might help keep it more relaxed and shiny but still whispy?
I'm thinking about cutting it bob length and adding volume to my bangs. What do you guys think?
>>
>>8877897
The type of braid you do will change the waves/curls you get, and you can add in strips of material if your hair is too thin.

>I'm thinking about cutting it bob length and adding volume to my bangs. What do you guys think?

Curly hair usually gets curlier the shorter it is, it's probably going to be more work if you cut it short.
>>
>>8877916
>Curly hair usually gets curlier the shorter it is, it's probably going to be more work if you cut it short.
You know people always say this but as my hair gets longer it always just gets tanglier, not nicer in any way. I think because it's so ridiculously thin, it doesn't start getting heavy enough to actually weigh anything down until much longer than I'm probably physically capable of growing it.
>>
>>8877802
or you could like, sew one yourself. find a high waisted pencil skirt and sew on some ruffles with a front panel.
>>
are there any skater skirts in larme? i mostly just see pencil or shapeless skirts. my wardrobe is shifting from normie girly clothes to larme, but i have countless skater skirts i hope i could still work into coords if possible..
>>
>>8877897
Try foam rollers.
>>
>>8878030
I have and it doesn't work either. I don't know why but whenever I try and dry my hair in something (a braid, rollers, etc) it never fully dries even if I leave it in for 10+ hours, and even when I blow-dry it it just comes out wrong.

I'm hoping for like, product advice that can speed up blow drying my hair to make it more wavy.
>>
>>8878015
If you make it work, it'll work. While pencil skirts show up more then anything, I think the right styleing could work with just about anything.
>>
Is this larme-able? What would you wear underneath?
>>
>>8878209
depends on how loose it is on you, but I'd go for a lacy bralette or top. If you can, put some cute bows on the color, or maybe even some lace.
>>
>>8878217
should I go for a bralette that matches with the cream color or something contrasty, do you think?
It's somewhat loose on me, but I think it still fits well? I can tailor it a bit.
>>
>>8878222
Differrent anon but i think a cream would be better, imo a darker one might look more trashy than classy.
I think the top is cute though, what kind of bottom will you wear?
>>
>>8878222
I would add small black bows to the top, and wear a black bra. Then you can pair it with black bottoms- a solid contrast, I should think. I'd keep the top loose, or as loose as it can be.

Again, it depends on how you coord it and what your other pieces will be. Try to mix and match! dont be afraid of switiching out colors to see what flatters you.

I really don't think it's important as people make it out to be. The only reason we don't see it much in Larme arm is because Larme is in a more natural phase right now and a more natural looking color for Japanese girls is brown (granted it's still dyed but not to the same extent). Just work with what you have.
>>

So I just found this website linked from WEGO, and I thought it might be interesting for some of the bigger hipped girls around here. It's general trendy jfash, not just Larme, but some of the hip measurements go up to like 130cm. Here's the bottoms section:

>>
does anyone have reviews for bobon21? i just ordered my first top from them on aliexpress but for the price ($34) i'm kind of nervous about the quality.
>>
>>8880148
I have a blouse and some socks from them. The quality was all pretty good; obviously not brand fabrics, but not horribly cheap, and no manufacturing flaws. Socks lasted as long as socks should, but the blouse fit poorly. Like it could be worn, but the sleeves were tight (which is a common problem for me), and the bust sat higher that it should, like it was made for someone with a really short torso.
>>
>>8880148
I have some really nice stuff from them. I'd say it's good for the price you paid. I usually get mine direct from taobao so it's a bit cheaper. Any other good larme-able stores on Taobao? I'm going to be making an order soon and would love to pick up some cute stuff. I checked out the store posted above and Bobon21, but I was wondering if there were any other options. I'd especially love to pick up some cute high-waisted scallop shorts.

Here's a rough guide: http://fallenangelsarelazy.tumblr.com/post/94987390948/taobao-direct-guide

For more info check the taobao threads. Like I said it is a bit more difficult than using an SS, because you will need to deal with everything in Chinese and if there are problems you're on your own. But if you're not buying customer made clothes or costumes it's generally fine. Again check the taobao threads.

I like the larme group on Facebook but does anyone else want to give concrit but feel too bad about doing so? I think the group is coming along nicely and am worried that saying something may turn people away from posting themselves. But seriously some people dress so bad that it wouldn't even look good for normie standards.
>>
>>8887659
Yes. By 'some people' do you mean Cindy?

I'm going to post my first coord soon and am planning to ask for concrit because I might need it.

I think CoF-style rules, where people get concrit if they ask for it, only work when there are members willing to give helpful criticism and also improve from it. Ideally I'll be good enough eventually to give some.

Maybe gently ask the person first, like "would you like any suggestions on your outfit?" or something.
>>
>>8887659
I've both given and gotten concrit on the page and it's gone well. As long as you're nice about it and throw in a compliment or two I think it will be fine. I love getting it personally.

It's too much of a hugbox imo, but most of those facebook groups are. A lot of the coordinates there are really bad.
>>
>>8887736
Ahh yes. Hers are exceptionally bad and no one says a damn thing. There are plenty others too but at least for those a commenter can be honest when saying "your top looks bad but your beret is cute!" and still sound nice. Just popped in today for new tulle skirt. Some of the new stuff that's sold out online is still available in store. I meant to ask if stuff's that's sold out will ever be restocked but I forgot, ugh.

Quality's pretty much the usual E hyphen world gallery standard (they're a chain store that you can find pretty much everywhere in Japan, Bon Bon is their most expensive line, all their other stuff is relatively pretty cheap and they have insane sales during the sales season),

I'd like a new don't cry baby thread too, I don't have a fb but I'd really like to see more non-model/magazine larme coords. In the tumblr tag, there's usually just stock photos, models and the occasional tumblrina who just throws on everything pastel in her wardrobe.

Not the creator of the taobao doc, but I'm working on compiling a list (it may end up including non-taobao stores as well)

I don't care about replicas, so I'll put replicas on the list.

If anyone finds any stores, just post them here or send them to taobaolarmakei(AT)gmail.com
>>
>>8891417
Thanks, I appreciate it. I just really wanted to keep them seperate if we can. I'll send you what I have found, but honestly like I've said before "Larme stores" can be hard to come by, but I've found Larme pieces here and there. Wuld you want specific item links or just the stores so people can wade through the crap on their own?
>>
>>8891484
If it's a large store, I'd say if at least 40% of the pieces are larma-friendly, it'll work

If it's small, wading through is fine

Here's a rough of what I've started

Most of the girls I see wearing this type of fashion are slender. Can bigger girls pull off this look? I'm not overweight by any means, actually at the lower end weight range for my height, but my built is thicker. I've got a fuller bust, tummy, and thicker thighs than the girls I see posted. Like, how can I coordinate in pencil skirts? They all accentuate my hips, which I dislike...

I'd appreciate any sort of basic tips for hiding a big frame as well. Thank you all in advance!

I don't think hip accentuation is any bad thing in larme, if you're on the thicker side, I think the more 'pin-up' side to larme style would look especially great although you should definitely still wear what you love and enjoy.

Pic related isn't larme but I think the principle applies, just bellow the knee to calf pencil looks are especially flattering on a thicker frame i think, as are tea or just below knee-length a-line skirts. An a-line net skirt might be a good investment, they appear a lot in larme.

hey anon, I don't mean to sound dismissive but whilst there are certainly plenty of non-pencil and non-short skirt looks etc in larme, I don't think heavy ruffle details, boxy cuts and especially puff short sleeves are often that flattering on a thick frame, especially top sections similar to this >>8894292 >>8894297
>>
>>8894324
Fair enough, I just have thick hips & thighs and a limited perspective. But I'm also wondering what that leaves anon with when the weather's too hot for long sleeves?
>>
>>8894591
spaghetti straps and shoulder straps are an option, shoulders and arms don't need to be hidden, it's more that puffed short sleeves in particular aren't often flattering on thick arms and/ or broad shoulders. Even regular short sleeves are likely better than the puffed kind. 3/4 sleeves are great to but admittedly aren't always that easy to find.

So I went through all the scans and tags on tumblr and it seems like larme is really simple when it comes to accessories. I rarely see anything but earrings, chokers, and hair bows/pins. Sometimes I see really toned-down rings like in >>8870412 but not much else.

Is this a pretty true assessment? I'm trying to get some more accessories for my larme wardrobe and I'm sort of stumped. I'm all loaded up on chokers, fluffy earrings, ribbons, and cute hair ties and clips.
>>
sorry if this is a really dumb question but I couldn't actually find an answer to it which surprised me. Within Japan, is larme a popular enough magazine to be found in regular convenience stores etc, or would I need to go to a more specialist magazine and book store? I'm just looking for the most convenient way to pick up a copy whilst there, preferably on my last day so I’m not lugging it around.

Also are back issues available to purchase in stores? I know there's plenty online but seems like a no go if you're only around for a few weeks with no Japanese address.
>>

How is this even a distinct jfash style? It looks like mainstream fashion. Half of the girls at my uni are accidentally dressing Larme.
>>
>>8911625
You must not know what Larme is. Normalfag blouses and tight skirt =/= Larme
>>
>>8911625
While Larme can more easily be done with bits and pieces of mainstream clothing than other jfash styles, the styling is totally different. Here are some differences you may see between the girls at your uni:
-Soft eyebrows
-Sharply winged eyeliner is a rarity
-Blush applied below the eyes rather than across the cheekbones, also usually more of it.
-"Airy" hairstyles, commonly with with sparse bangs
-Color palette jumps from girly to gothy without much middle ground
-A bunch of other subtleties that you've just gotta look at scans and stuff to understand.

If you still don't get it, make sure you've gone through all the links at the top of the page. We also explain this to somebody like every thread, so you can try to track down some archives of older ones.
>>
>>8911777
To add on to that list
-Mixing of different textures, like lace and marabou

They're these ones. It's pretty nice velvet(een?); I mean I've seen better, but it's nowhere near cheap. Any dirt that gets on the velvet just kind of brushes off. They haven't gotten any creases over time either (a couple dozen wears). Using an SS brought the price up a bit, but for a shoe initially priced at just under 7000 yen, they're well worth it.

No cool editorial style photoshoot this time. D:

There's a lot more examples of "looks" like romantic girly, sweet military, street girly, retro, vintage, hippie, pin up, french... etc.

Imo I get the feel that they're trying to broaden larme style.

For Spring, there's more red, white, florals, light grey, denim and gingham in addition the the classic pastels, lace and black.

Larme newfag here. What are some general guidelines and stuff for larme? What's the best site to get clothes for it?
>>
Has anyone checked out http://1861.ca/ ? I get that it's not larme kei, but some of the things they sell fit the style, and aren't too expensive.

mature nymphet is kind of the look. lots of dusty/pastel colors. natural hair color is usually best. socks + sandals are perfectly a-ok. A-line is nice for most body shapes.

mon lily on dream v is perfect for larme. the rakuten store seemed to stop sorting things by brand so look for mon lily in the pictures. It's really easy to tell the brand pictures apart from others.

looking through mag scans or even buying the mag will give you a pretty clear idea of what larme is. overall it's more of a "feel" than a particular style, though i think since it got popular it is starting to have a definite silhouette.

I was going to, but my computer gives me all kinds of security warnings when I try to checkout. Is this normal?

Looks like the dress I wanted is now sold out in my size anyway..
