They're not, actually. Kinu's ears in her sprite are about half the height of her head and this cosplayer made them more like 3/4 the size of her head. Similar with Nishiki. The colors you used, imo, are also too bright, but that's a matter of taste.

When we made the ears we didn't realize how large they actually looked compared to our heads until we we're already done with them. We also had other cosplays to finish so we didnt have the time to re-do them. It was something we wanted to fix, but we did make them into Neconimi's which was the main idea for them.

I'm the Kinu and the one who patterned the ears; What winded up happening is we patterned them without realizing that there was an extra 2 inches because of the headband. There are a few things, it was our first time working with fur so we also want to mess with the color.

Any suggestions for tackling Tharja's neck piece/tiara? I've never made props like that- I've made fake jewelry/pendants but nothing attached to the main outfit before, so I'm not sure what I should be going for in terms of flexibility/attachment.

Tharja cosplayer here, the way I did my neckpiece was with very thick, gold upholstery leather that the rest of my gold pieces were made from backed with interfacing in the three front panels. Once I got the shape down it was pretty easy to achieve! The best way I can describe the shape is like a spoon, just with the straight part a lot thicker. For the tiara, it's very easy to do if you can just sketch down the flat design on paper, then transfer that to foam, and put a layer of worbla over it before curving it to your head with heat. I did mine against a wig head and it turned out rather nice! I then attached the diamond with fishing wire, and I did it the same way with worbla and craft foam.
If you need any more advice I'd happily drop you some pictures if I can PM them to you somehow.

Shyly self postin' from Katsucon. I had a couple cosplay plans fell through/irl pain and a friend was kind enough to let me borrow her Robin cosplay for the day. It was really fun and I loved seeing everyone at the Saturday shoot! If you were there thanks for making it a fun time. Usually they go over pretty well with effort put into them, especially if the character has distinctive hair like Lissa does. Combos like weird Robin designs and less recognizable classes don't seem to do as well. I love the swordmaster Olivia here, for example.

Arda's Rufio seems like a good place to start. You could either add a shitton of wefts to the back or splice in pieces of white & black long wigs to get dat wolfskin mullet. The "fake-looking divides" are just from people who don't know how to blend the fibers well after you've done the wefting/splicing.

The more accurate official art would actually be the one in game since the renders were drawn by Kozaki. IIRC there's a comic anthology for FE14, so that image is probably by the artist who drew the comics. I would think you'd want to start with a regimental coat pattern. You just don't build the pockets or epaulets and replace the collar with the hood. Then remove material from the lapel. I'm thinking about cosplaying Felicia but I can't for the love of god figure out how her dress works. Is it two pieces? An undershirt with the ruffle and the black dress with the "apron" part attached? Or is the apron part a third layer? It'd be great to hear another opinion.

Dress with a cut out and white inset, attached collar and ruff. Separate apron with straps. You definitely want to do the cut with which fabric stitched to the facing to keep the heart shape. Having a separate blouse would add a lot of bulk and make keeping the shape much more difficult and complex than it needs to be.

you can pretty easily make a covering that is relative fleshtone. Even just get those stupid toe-shoes and paint them.
Are there any fat playable characters? I'd rather not be "Fat Insert-Character-Name" if I can help if but all I can think of are NPC/Enemies from Awakening/Fates (only ones I've played).
