Self posts welcome!
What are your favorite shops to get fairy kei? I'm having trouble finding stuff I actually like.
You could always try storeenvy and those j fashion blogs were they have links to stores
>>8868577
I keep seeing pictures of this girl posted. Who is she? It's always the same background.
>>8868612
She's on my Facebook group and she has a blog: http://pastelcubes.blogspot.com.br/
>>8868907
This is so cute except for the weird middle bang part. But I love the unicorn scheming.
>>8868907
This is lovely
Is there anywhere that sells landwhale size clothes?
i got suckered into helping my cousin make a fairy kei outfit because ~family~
I miss old school fairy kei with natural or dyed hair, less clutter/accessories and the 80's casual feel. It was sooo much lighter and natural.
The fairy kei western people wear nowdays looks more like pastel decora clusterfuck.
> inb4: "why so salty", "don't like what I like"
I just miss it and wish the fashion would take a new turn.
>>8871714
maybe you would like yumekawaii-kei, it's like a fairy-kei inspired in a dream feeling with less accesories
>>8871714
No I totally feel this anon, you're not alone. I don't really care if other people are into it but I miss when fairy-kei was starting to get bigger.
>>8871721
fucking stop that shit.
>>8871721
>yumekawaii
>like fairy kei but less accessories
So pastel decora is really what we are considering as the standard for fairy-kei, huh.
>>8871721
From what I hear yumekawaii is just updated fairy kei that looks more like the western interpretation.
>>8872366
>>8872367
why is it only ugly girls like fairy kei? I like the style but seriously, I've yet to see a pretty girl do fairy kei
>>8868574

>>8872500
ok that's all I got
>>8872498
is that a boy? hes really pretty and passes well if he is.
I usually wear lolita but I wanted to try fairy kei but honestly even after lurking for months I'm still having a hard time trying to grasp exactly how it should look. Will I look like shit if I wear this?
>>8872546
oh also I'm not planning on wearing all of those accessories I'll probably pick only one or two of them
>>8872546
Not bad, just kinda simple. Maybe wear a cute bag too? Definitely not a bad start.
>>8872556
Yea I'm trying to keep it a bit simple since it's my first coord so that I don't end up looking like an OTT mess or something. Glad to hear it doesn't look awful haha and oh yea I always forget to put bags in with my collages! I think I'll try to find one of those AP bags that are shaped like candy to go with this.
>>8871714
I feel this too, anon. I think it's the influx of tumblr cluttering up the style.
>>8871714
This so much. For example, OP picture (>>8868442) this girl is cute but she looks SO bad in wigs... I follow her on instag and she always looks really mannish in her wigs, but with her natural hair she is gorgeous.
If anything, more natural looking wigs in solid colors are best and make it look more cute and less like pastel throwup.
>>8872389
>>8872581
Stop shitting up the thread, asshole
>>8872761
Are the Fresh Precure ones legit because I want them
Where are the best places for wigs?
>>8872763
Me too anon
Anyone going to that meetup tomorrow? I'm not, but I'm seeing it all over my Facebook and dash.
Remember guys, report and ignore.
I love massive sweaters in fairy kei, they look so comfy.

>>8873830
it's not though, it's discussing what's posted in this thread
>>8873829
no, it's not adding to the thread at all. your comments are shit, yea they're ugly but it's not thread related, take it to the bad cosplay thread.
>>8873829
You're being reported, that's why stuff is getting deleted. Enjoy your summer of bans, newfag
>>8873835
Like.. i dont get it.
Yeah, they're ugly, but why point out the obvious? Maybe you have better things to do?
>>8873831
No see, this is an image dump thread.
You're new tho, so you don't get that. Also, long comments like that ate considered annoying, even in CoF threads
>>8868574
shes just decora though
>>8873840
That's cool, so, uh, what's new other than that?
>>8873844
Any particular reason? Do you have a fashion you like?
>>8873799
what meetup?
>>8873745
seconded, my wig is basically dead due to an accident while i was moving and it was a con buy so idk where to buy a new one.
>>8873845
my husband got home after almost a month away from home and now we're just chilling so my shitposting may let up some. gotta get it in while I still can
>>8873847
I actually really like fairy kei but the colors usually don't suit me. I'm REALLY fair but I have heavy yellow undertones so most of the cool toned pastels don't flatter me. I stick to Lolita because there's more for me to wear
>>8871699
also looking for fatty-chan stores. I'm very pear shaped so I'm really only looking for plus sized and flattering bottoms.
>>8873852
Ah, I tend to have yellow undertones as well. But most of it's not on my face but rather my neck so I just hide my neck a lot or as much as I can. (damn you summer...)
I do get really bad rosacea tho, which is usually pink/red which can be cute but not if it's all over your face, then you just look drunk. So that blows but I just use make up to off set it. Surely you can do the same for yellow undertones.
Do you not wear sweet in lolita?
>>8873880
I'll wear sweet more chocolate themed cords and floral cords but I have to make sure they aren't blue based because I look sick when I wear colors like that.
I could use makeup to make my face neutral/cool toned but I don't like to wear really heavy face makeup since I don't need heavy coverage. I just stick to like a tinted sunscreen type product and the ones where I am are usually a little too dark so I mix in more sunscreen
I don't mind it because it's just the way I am. warm colors do wonders for me so I figure I can just do that.
if there were more peachy colors in fairy kei I'd be all over it

Love these shoes. Does anyone have source?
One of my favorite things about fairy kei are the oversized puffy sneakers. Comfortable and fashionable.
Do they make cute puffy shoes in biggu piggu foot sizes? im like.. a 10.5-11
anyone got some cute diys to share? I have almost a whole roll of this stuff left after making a couple fluffy 2-way clips. No idea what to do with it. Ideas?
I wish my area had a fairy kei community like UK does.
>>8876409
i know this feel, i'm in northern canada.
There's fucking NOTHING but normies that are 5 years behind in normie fashion
Most if the fairy kei I saw at Magfest was on dudes. Nice.
>>8876409
The UK has a massive J-fashion scene in general, no idea why. I heard yesterday's meetup was massive.
>>8876409
I feel you anon, in my zone barely we have a lolita comm, other jfashion are non existence
>>8868577
Now I like fairy kei, but I would be embarrassed to go round wearing dungarees and a badge that said "I love Spank!". Gives off the wrong impression.
>>8876866
It was big. We swamped the bubble tea place.
>>8876866
Most of them are elitist cunts so it's not really worth going to those meets unless you're involved in the inner circle.
>>8877100
Really, who? I didn't feel like anyone was elitist except for a small handful of people.
>>8877094
You went? What were the e-famous girls like?
>>8876866
>The UK has a massive J-fashion scene in general, no idea why.
Because it's so shit and grey, we need to bring in as much colour to this place as possible.
>>8877144
Everyone was talking to everyone but there were a few small groups which formed. I socialised a bit but mostly stuck with my friends. It didn't really feel like there was elitism going on.
>>8874832

try looking for pastel reboks. I know there are other places that sell fk shoes in bigger sizes but I can't think of any rn
>>8877231
i feel sorry for you
Someone tell us how the meet went, for those of us who weren't able to go.
>>8877231
I agree on some of them but it's more like:
>>8868576
Those under eye bags are terrible. It looks like a homeless lady found someone's dropped with. This would be better if they took a full body shot
>>8868577
Looks like a Mexican mom who wanted to be cool. Just picked up they're kids clothes from the 90's. I think a more mature jfashion would look amazing on them.
>>8868907
Look a bit young. If they removed the glasses and added makeup they would look better.
>>8872367
Dat skirt.
>>8872376
Looks like a man, could be fixed with more makeup.
>>8872427
The low bang wig does bring out the monkey. If she had a multi-/pastel color with it would be better.
>>8872451
The one on the right looks unfortunate. Maybe it's a bad picture.
>>8872454
Looks fetishy. Needs to try again.
>>8877387
It was fun. We walked around Camden for a while, went to Cyberdog, then to MooBoo, the bubble tea place, then took photos. After that some people went to a Japanese restaurant to eat, some people went to Starbucks and some people went to go look around Camden some more. The only bad thing was that is was raining the whole time. I think everyone enjoyed themselves though. Can't wait for the next one.
>>8876866
It does? I didn't think we had much outside of lolita. I've certainly never seen anyone wear jfashion other than lolita here (and I'm a lolita so out of meets I've seen it like, once).
More pictures, please.

>>8877669
What's up with Kumamiki? I haven't heard anything about her lately. I still love her style.

She's pretty big on YouTube Japan. She's toned down her style a bit now though.

>>8877231
I know how to ban evade too but this doesn't mean I go out of my way to be a fucking jackass for no reason other than you're a bored housewife.
Get another hobby and this is coming from someone in the same fucking boat as you, my only hobby is lolita and other j-fashion. Like really that's it, and I'm pretty much a bored housewife myself but man, shut the fuck up already.
You're fucking boring.

I wear fk daily and am always listening to music on the bus and such, but my headphones are plain af. I'd like these but deco would fall off in my bag super easily. Any other kawaii-fying ideas?
>>8877839
I've lived in three major cities, but not in London. I don't think non-lolita jfash has much presence outside of London.

from the videos I've seen of the phone cases that were made with silicone, the decoden pieces don't come off that easily.
There's a girl I follow on insta that does them using silicone and she had this video up a long time ago of her dropping cases she had made and they didn't break.
I wish I could find it but haven't been able to since I saw it on my feed (not sure why she'd delete it but whatevs)
her insta is catscradledecoden
she does custom orders and is now doing more than just phone cases so I bet she'd do some headphones!
>>8877874
I contributed to like half of this thread with images.
We get 150 image replies and 310 replies in total before autosage.

>>8877885
Content doesn't need to be images. It's still pointless to reply to obvious bait and get butthurt about it when people could instead talk about their experiences, ask questions, and/or post photos. The easiest way to maintain thread quality/keep it up is to not reply to trolls.

Milklim is really cute.
Anyone really, really, not like pastel wigs in fairy kei? It's too OTT imo and natural colored hair usually looks betger
>>8879628
I don't think it's the worst but it also depends on the wig color and style. But you're right something about natural hair colors does look a bit nicer.
>>8877895
How old is the one in the pink wig? She looks kinda haggard and her face is just... not suited to cutesy pastel at all.
>>8872376
Is that the ridiculous self proclaimed "legendary trapguy" with the super annoying nasal voice ? angelicmacron/david/devon/akira/.. or something?
The one who is a complete bratty twat and don't support his family being in difficulty and ask people on the internet to donate to them while he keeps on buying loads of AP going to Laduree/QPot cafe and such?
He really would benefit from some makeup especially on the nose area...my gosh, what a potato.
>>8877857
if you were going to get an entirely new pair of headphones i've seen these ones that have a clear case over the ear parts so you could put drawings or something like that in them, my friend had them and it looked nice!
>>8879713
Oh anon... they're overpriced and you should only use them as a last resort.
>>8880462
The secondhand prices are the same range as ebay or anything else. I've had some good finds that way.
>>8880462
...what are you even talking about? Buying secondhand hard to find items is apparently overpriced? O...Kay...?
Sorry if this is a dumb question but is mahou kei just fairy kei while holding a sailor moon wand, or is there supposed to me more to the aesthetic other than themed items? I was hoping there would be more examples with the super poofy skirt + mile long legs look that I usually associate with mahou shoujo
>>8868574
>mahoupiss
Why
>>8880731
Yeah and you can get them cheaper elsewhere. You're buying from girls like pastel cutie and other tumblrinas who are constantly over pricing their storenvy shit.
Like what are you getting? Do you buy from hollyteatime or some dumb shit?
Why would you get a pair of platforms for 37.99 when you could get them for 7 bucks?
That part doesn't make sense to me.
Do whatever you want, I was trying to help you.
literally everyone who dresses in fairy kei is a gross ugly/fat bitch who is trying to overcompensate with pastelvomit for being gross
>>8880846
You're not making sense because you don't seem to understand that people on storenvy can and do sell secondhand Milklim, listen flavor, etc for half retail price.
I know what you're talking about but you seem to still not be understanding what I'm talking about. If you still don't get it now then...best of luck to you I guess.
Please learn that resellers =/= secondhand. No one is defending resellers. Jesus.
>>8880774
imo there is (or should be) more of a poofy skirt aesthetic in mahou kei
>>8872366 is a good example of how the skirt/dress should be
skirts like >>8874328 would work too
I think generally tulle is a major contributor to the aesthetic, but i think that pettis that are tiered are more suited for fk than mahou eg: >>8872368 >>8874330
Sorry I'm really bad at explaining but if you're thinking brands, Pinkly Ever After is more mahou than say, Nile Perch is.
>>8881312
>>8880774
also while sailor moon merch is pretty common, any kind of accessory that is something usually associated with magical girls could work. Pic related.
>>8879633
this is adorable. Do you know the artist?
>>8881182
Well that's interesting because when I see listen flavor it's literally the same price as it would be to buy from their store minus the shipping but then you have to pay storenvy shipping still. I sure never see them do free shipping.

>all this ugly and fat in one thread

>>8884784
Can you please practice your shitposting somewhere else? You are so fucking novice.
>>8878033
Dream hair color!I never saw such dark unnatural colors in fairy kei.
By the way, i want to get these pleated skirts in pic related in many colors but i fear to look like a potato, i'm not fat but my legs are a bit thick, waist is almost unexsistent and generally i'm flat like a tube and no tummy except the damn legs, also short torso. I know ankle socks aren't the best but in summer fairy kei with tights is a nightmare.
Any suggestion?Maybe platform sneakers would help to have a more cute leg appearance?
>>8886151
I think the best tip i can give you in terms of skirts is to make sure it FITS on your waist (even if its practically nonexistant), in between your belly button and the bottom of your rib cage. Most pleated skirts have an a-line shape and if the waist fits correctly it will give the allusion of a defined waist
speaking as a flat-chested banana shaped female, I can tell you it helps, a lot.
Good fairy kei bloggers? There aren't many outside of tumblr nowadays, but I want more to read.
>tfw pastelraindrops doesn't post anymore
>>8886383
Thank you!I found one on Aliexpress, i have to choose the L size (74 cm) because my waist is 71 cm sigh, it's weird when i have a bodytype that fit most stuff that many cannot (like the sack/A line dresses) but the skirts and tights are my weakness!
>i used to think i was pear shaped but a lolita friend told me if i fit high waist jsks it means i'm banana or a thin apple shaped woman
>big waist sizing explained finally
I fit weird also tutus or full elasticated skirts, it's true also for you? Maybe for fairy kei i should wear only dresses lol.
>>8886898
I felt disappointed when she left for CPK?Larme kei?
>>8887122
No problem!
>I fit weird also tutus or full elasticated skirts, it's true also for you?
Yes!! omg I love the look of tutus but for some reason I can never get them to stay up on me? My waist is like 63/64 cm so they always fall down and make my waist look low, so I usually wear them under skirts to poof them out! (again, adding to my "fake waist"
As for skirts though, I don't mind fully elastic if its a full skirt. None of that h&m "circle skirt" bullshit, (there old ones were ok, nowadays they are skimpy with the fabric)
Pic related is my favourite skirt EVER. Milklim's volume dot-chan skirt gives me waist to hip ratio I could only dream about.
>>8886898
My fav fk blogger is cherry-chii. I don't know how active she is on blogger anymore, but shes pretty active on tumblr at least.
>>8887234
I love drop waist skirts, these are the only type of skirts that fits me right like the Milklim one!I have two drop waist AP skirts one is lolita (Toy Parade) the other more fairy kei/decora oriented (Girly Dot in dark pink), they look fabulous and the waist is adjustable!I suggest to buy drop waist AP mini skirts they are really good for fairy kei, confy but beware the length if you are tall, i'm just 5'2 and they hit me knee length.
These fake circle H&M skirts look like shit and fitting too, they look too saggy and the waist is unconfortable, for this i love to stick with no elastic/side zipper skirts like the pleated ones or drop waist.Pic related is the Girly Dot skirt i have.
>>8887250
>tfw lolitadesu has toy parade low waist skirt but you can't justify (or afford) dropping $230CAD on your dream skirt rn
I absolutely love drop waist skirts. I'm constantly scouring closet child & yja but alas, because I am a poor student and the canadian dollar is so low I cannot afford most things sold on LM rn.
>side note abt h&m skirts
the b/w polkadot one is actually not that bad, esp if you're going for that frumpy spank kei look
>>8887265
I bought Toy Parade for 9000 yen on Mbok more than a year ago, it was a real chance with the low yen rate, at that time in Euro was around 60, you should check Mbok or Yahoo JP auctions for real deals, i'm not sure if CAD Yen conversion rates are good right not but i can find print and non printed skirts and salopettes that no one wants/unpopular for cheap, the Girly Dot one was just 20 euro lol, there was a tiny loose thread by usage but i fixed it. I wanted to get this skirt (Shy Bear Applique) i saw it many times on auctions for dirt cheap but i'm not sure if i fit it, because i have some butt lol, it could ride too high and mini sized!Unfortunately not many Western people are into AP casual pieces and finding non asians wearing this pieces is really hard, not just because they don't fit, it's the "wahhh ageplay" bullshit or i'm not sure why.
That polkadot skirt look really cute, i hope to find similar ones but the last one i bought (navy colored) was too saggy on me and i had to sell it.
>>8887265
Here the mini skirt!Wish AP would do more causal fairy kei able items!
does anybody know/want to take a guess at how to make these?? I really want to make my own.
>>8887349
You can buy that fluffy yarn stuff at nearly any craft store.
Then just buy a cheap pair of bear ears and a thick needle and thread the whole thing with your new fluffy yard until you can't see the original fabric anymore
>>8887978
where do you get bear ears though? I've only ever seen kid sized ones around xmas time desu
I was thinking of creating a wire frame for the ears over a normal headband, and wrapping that but I'm not sure if that would work
Where do you guys get msot of your fairy kei feed from? I like tumblr but sometimes the tags are too full of bad taobao resellers and mistags.
>>8888268
>>8888273
>>8888276
>>8888158
Yeah the fairy kei tag on tumblr is garbage compare to what it used to be sadly
>>8887985
That sounds like it would work for sure. Look up tutorials for the fluffy star clips
>>8880777
Do people on /cgl/ not like her much anymore or something? She does some pretty good decora coords
Is there a fairy kei or lolita and jfashion comm in NJ, PA, or NY?
I have dressed fairy kei for a couple years now and would really like to make some friends who like Japanese fashion too!
I have never joined a comm or anything though and think it would be really nice too but don't know how to even find one to join.
>>8889142
I think it has to do with the whole gender identity thing. Like if you identify as a dude but wear pink or more feminine clothing then you're not worth being taken seriously. Which I don't really agree with but whatever.
>>8889255
well look at it this way, if you don't have dysphoria and you 'identify as a dude' what does that mean other than in regards to gender stereotypes? not trying to make this OT but the only thing that separates men from women other than genitalia is the stereotypes. it legit makes no sense especially when a lot of dysphoric trans people actually embrace stereotypes as a way to distinguish themselves from the opposite gender as something comforting especially if they can't get surgery/HRT. it just seems edgy and tryhard to claim you're a guy, do nothing to justify your feelings and even more, do the exact opposite. it makes trans look like a joke.
>>8889145
Right now, to my knowledge, there are only comms for lolita in this area. I wanted to start a general jfashion comm, but I had a hard time starting it. Where in the area are you located, anon? Maybe we can start one!
>>8889264
i'd be interested in this too, although i'm in ct so the only area of those mentioned i could reasonably get to is nyc or some other parts of new york
>>8889262
Agree to disagree I guess. I see where you are coming from and the reasoning behind it but I honestly don't care if a guy wears pink or colorful clothing, trans or not. Its not even a social justice thing, I really just don't have the capacity to care.
inb4 I'm called an "edgy tumblrina" lol
Pic because I feel bad getting into this without contributing
>>8890212
I live in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, PA area! I'd be up for having Pennsylvania meets, and sometimes New York!
>>8890663
Oh cool! Do you have any contact info?
We could message about it and try to make it happen.

>>8892131
>>8892132
>>8892142
Does anyone have any tutorials for fairy kei weapons etc? I want to make a pastel/jewelled baseball bat to go with an OTT fairy kei baseball themed coord. Would just pastel painted look okay, or would a load of cabochons ruin it?
>>8892146
I'm not really sure about putting cabochons on a baseball bat, but maybe painting it with pattern (stars, moons, polka dots) and colours that compliment your coord would be cute! I'd love to see it when it's done.
>>8892160
I want to use a lilac and pink colour scheme. I was thinking of doing a pink base with lilac swirled stripes, and then I want to design a logo for my imaginary baseball team and stencil that on, the way lots of baseball teams do. I was just wondering if anything else would be too much, so I don't buy a load of cabochons and don't use them!
>>8889145
There's actually a fairy kei comm for the area already, called North East Fairy Kei Community on Facebook, but it's not particularly great and I don't know that it's ever had a meet.
>>8892179
Thank you!! I just requested to join, maybe I can plan a meet or something there.
If any fairies here want to make a Jfashion comm though I'm all ears

Love the side ponytail and the jacket. What are some good hair styles for fairy kei other than typical pigtails?
I'd love to start making some accessories. I plan on doing fluffy stars, some headbands, and a few bows. Is there a specific item/theme (ex; hearts, rings, or certain colors) that anyone is looking for?

Please don't make more of those chocomint stars they are so overdone.
If you're making fuzzy stuff like this though then yes please.

Would you be interested in doing elastic puffy bow belts?

I think that anon meant something like this

Yes please
>>8893068
Oh thanks! That makes more sense. I'll see what I can do!
>>8892887
Yep, >>8893068 is right. If you could make belts similar to pic related, that would be a dream.
Can something like this be considered toned down fairy kei?
>>8897977
I agree with the other anon, it can't pass as toned down fairy kei

God it pisses me off when people don't cut their wig bangs and just do this shit

It would look about 100 better if she has just moved the skirt up to her natural waist instead of her hips

It's not a matter of it looking nice, it is moreso of a matter of it actually looking like fairy kei.
The outfit you posted has a couple pastel colors and looks -nice-, but doesn't fit the cutesy dreamy aesthetic of fairy kei. Your image shows more of a mature pastel look and it is lacey and dainty instead of being sweet and cutesy.
Maybe try a shirt with a cute character on it or a cute designed resin necklace and some pastel legwarmers! Pic related is a good example of casual fairy kei and I will post another picture that fits it too

Here is the 2nd good example I have. I hope this helps!

Oh thank you! I always worry about wearing a tutu outside on normal days because these girls look like middle/high schoolers but after that it's very weird to wear. It doesn't seem casual but the poof in your pictures look very reasonable.
Would this picture be casual and afairy kei?

Sorry if this is a stupid question or if I've missed the answer somewhere, but did the designers of Pinkly Ever After ever go on to other projects or labels? I loved their style and I was gutted when they closed only a month or two after I heard about them.
