Do you mean the border between the pink and the white or the nail edge itself? For the border, I think curved looks a lot nicer and more natural.
IMO French manicures only look porn-y when the nails are super long and the colours contrast too much because that makes it look tacky and cheap. As long as you keep your nails about OP length or a bit shorter and use a top coat that diffuses the colours a bit I think French manicures are one of the nicest things you can wear on your nails.

After seeing most Lolita's nails even for meets, any sort of a plain, neat French manicure with nice cuticles would usually be an improvement. Filed a little more oval on the tip than both OP pix is most popular and practical if you keep them short. The right curved shape at the back 'smile line' looks better and more natural than the straight one on the left.

Any recommendations for the best short term adhesives for false nails? I can't have them on for more than an evening out due to work regulations requiring us to have short nails without polish.
I've tried the generic drug store press on/stick on ones and they seem to catch and come off easily. I've heard mixed things about tape and was really looking for recommendations that aren't just sponsored reviews. I want to buy/make nail sets for myself that I can change depending on my outfit without worrying about losing a nail into my dinner.

As a nail tech, I usually go with what works best for the individual client's fingers. Some people naturally have a straighter or more curved smile line, so if they want it to look natural I'll try to follow it. Some people want the super curved shape to try to make their nails look longer and more elegant. Some people just have more stubby nail beds (which I have unfortunately) and they just look weird with the very curved line.

Porn star nails are kind of like pic related except way longer and obviously fake. I'm pretty sure you can find a pic of them if you google "porn star nails".
Here are the nails I wore to Comic Con last year.
Just basic cheap French nails from the drug store that I finished up with gold glitter and an extra topcoat.
I think my application was a little sloppy because a) it was my first time wearing fake nails and b) I had to apply them while riding a train, but I still think they turned out nice enough, and were lowkey enough to work with my coord without rendering my hands useless for a week.
I'd definitely try them again, I'm sure it's one of those things that gets easier to do with practice.

I've had pretty good luck with the nail adhesive that comes in sticker form, particularly the ones that Daiso carries. You have to press really hard to get a good seal, but those stayed for several hours during cons and photoshoots. Getting them off can be kind of hard, but I recommend soaking your hands/fingers in water for a while to weaken the adhesive.

I most be the only lolita that hates those acrylic nails. I just always use a light pink polish, and I keep my nails short because I think it looks more clean.

Also it sounds like if you're having issues getting them to match you might have fingers like mine. All the nail beds are a little off shaped from each other, and the nails themselves are very flat. I think it might be from having bit them for so long during my childhood. I usually go for a slightly tapered rounded off square which makes them all look more equal in shape.

Depends on the market and quality of place. The spa I work at doesn't do acrylic, but for our full shellac mani its $35 (which has the actual nail work and polish, plus a skin treatment, massage, and hot towel) and a polish change is $20 (which has the actual nail work just minus the massage and treatment). Most of the small Asian-run places here cost around $20 for a set, but are notorious for having unlicensed workers and unhealthy conditions. Larger full service salons tend to be more like $50 for a set.

I really wanna get cute decos and nail polish on my toes (really wanna get sandals and junk) but two years ago I kicked my foot into a very solid wall, popping my toe nail off. It was incredible but now my toe nail isn't growing. It has growth spurts but sometimes it just straight up doesn't grow and because I kicked my toenail off and it regrown back there's this really ugly thick risen up area at the tip of the nail and since it won't grow the crappy nail end wont grow out to clip off.
The nail is normal besides almost an inch of thick nail ridge. And it only happened to that one toe and I assume its because I straight up popped it off by nailing it against a wall, no clue why its growth is so slow though. Super embarrassed going to nail salons too.. Ugh..
Is there any nail bath/routines to make my toe nail grow out so that I can finally get rid of the gross nail portion faster? I hate having plain nails all the time for the toes.

If you got them both.. basically.. MAKE SURE THE SEAL IS PEELED OFF OF THE PLATE!!! So many of my friends I send plates to cant get it to work.. why? They leave the protective seal on it haha
So pretty much, its as simple as put the stamping polish (others work too but come out much more dull) on the design, scrap over the top to remove excess with the scraper or a creditcard which works surprisingly better.. then stamp the design really quickly... if you push really hard on it for any longer than 1 second it generally wont pick up the image.. then once it has been picked up on the stamper.. stamp it on your nails!
Its really really easy once you get the hang of it! And stamps plates are literally 50c with free shipping on AliExpress... so if you have naturally long and nice looking nails you can make some amazing designs with little to no effort!

That would be awesome but as others said its not very feasible. I'm a nail tech and I work in a Victorian-decorated salon right now and honestly, its a hell of a lot of work to start one. You have to find a good location that actually suits both your vision and the clientele you hope to achieve, you have to actually have a clientele to start off with, you need to have workers you trust that also share your vision, and you will need to be able to demonstrate all this to get your loans to start it up.
When my boss started this place up, all the workers came in with experience and people willing to follow them to a new salon, so they at least had a few guaranteed clients to keep them afloat until word of mouth spread. Even if you're at one of the biggest comms and every single one of your members comes regularly, that's still only really enough work for one or two people day to day (assuming you're both full time workers). We have over a thousand clients on record, and on average we serve about 100 individual nail clients every week. That's just enough that three nail techs can be almost, not quite, full time. This isn't counting the amount of clients that come through for the other departments which are all about the same size.

Yeah those are basically bandaids anon. Its like all the protein enriching shampoos. They'll help with the immediate issue by coating over it and gluing it together but they won't actually help you grow healthier nails or hair. In fact, hair and nails being brittle or damaged are a serious indicator that you're vitamin deficient and you should consider a supplement or diet change.

I don't think they're usually billed as having much to do with nails, but if they're helping then keep taking them! It could be that your body was using up nutrients for other purposes (organ health or something) and now that you have them to spare, your nails are able to grow healthier. Nails and hair are not as necessary to your biology, so they're usually one of the first things to suffer damage during a deficiency. I can actually track my client's health via their nails and can tell if they've been ill or started a new medication by the ridges and color.
