Paint your face, style a regular cosplay wig to look like her hair, and wear blue circle lenses instead of Sclera lenses. Avoid masks and plastic or fabric hair, that always looks like shit.

I think it's a bad character design and it's gonna look bad no matter what. The amount of shine indicated by the character design won't translate into fabric well unless it's well formed - not all droopy and wrinkly. Add on an unflattering dress design and then the necessity to have a very close match between the left arm fabric, face paint, and hair and you've got a recipe for consistent disaster and mediocrity at best. This is a design that needs to be altered to look good in reality; we'll never have a good looking Fi that also appears accurate to source material.

Self-posting my Fi from a few years back. I feel like I hit a pretty good balance of accuracy vs not looking creepy, though I wish my wig was a better colour match for my fabric and I really could have used some contouring on the facepaint. The cape was half lined so I could slip my arms in and out easily - which also made for the best built-in storage ever. I had A4 signed prints stashed inside those wings along with phone/wallet/etc!

The one thing I would advise you change other than the sweater is the makeup. Saria is a child, and if you look at pictures of her you can see her lips are a nude color. I think a nude lipstick with a bit of pigment (i.e. not concealer lips) would look best.
You have a cute and youthful face so I definitely think you could make a great Saria. But heavy makeup like that will make anyone look old.

Thanks! It's long retired now, so I doubt I'll ever get around to doing anything with it but I appreciate the crit. Wigs in particular are my weakpoint which is why I wanted to try this one. I feel like as a total wig noob I did a okay job on the pointy bit at the top, but the bangs stuck out from my face weirdly instead of framing, and the flicks at the back sat really badly with the collar of my cape and quickly got beat up by it/ruined. I've a sneaking suspicion the bangs issue is half me having no idea what I'm doing with wigs and half my massive head making things sit weirdly. Still got a lot to learn, hahah. Obviously there are Zelda fans on that site, but it never really became a huge deal with SJWs like Undertale or Homestuck, both of which are games. It's kind of strange to me given the amount of diversity, great character designs, attractive characters, and the fact that it's a super easy fandom to get into.
I'm really glad it didn't, don't get me wrong. But the worst people in the fandom are some annoying (yet harmless) 14-year-olds on Deviant Art. It's just kinda strange to me.
