Ensure stuff gets monitored. Example is how i keep seeing porn spammed on LSE, they need more mods. Changing group photos. Accepting join requests. Removing or banning members if they break rules. Really just keeping the group nice. Obviously any member can start or contribute to discussion, but a mod ensures a quality group

G+ is better than facebook in that it doesn't have to be tied to your real identity.

It's an alternative. When you're in your gmail account, go up to where it shows your username and then go to g+, it is easy to set up but the interface might take you a bit to figure out since it's very different to other sites

It's under the information icon (i) up in the corner of their profile on mobile. Sometimes you just have to poke around.
