So basically what they're doing is releasing the exact same dress design just in different prints.

Way to go AP, I'm losing more and more respect for you.

When do the brand fukubukuros usually come out? Every year I forget to get them, so I want to make a note in my calendar so I can try to get one this year. I know it'll probably be a struggle but I might as well try.

Rumored to be releasing towards the end of this month or next. Hoping for some cuter cuts/colors and accessories (I'd drop mad $ if they did a wand purse/magical girl accessories) but either way, my wallet is ready.
>>
>>8824609
beautiful.
>>
>>8824618
You're over a month late, buddy. Reservations for lucky packs are usually in December and they're released around New Years.
>>
>>8824629
Oh no, I know that. I meant for this year, 2016 bags in December. sorry if I didn't explain myself well. I wanted to know when the reservations start for this year since I keep missing them.
>>
>>8824636
>Asking in January about December releases...

No one is going to know that until the brands announce them. Why don't you just pay more attention toward the end of the year?
>>
>>8824644
I get really swamped with work and I always forget to check here and elsewhere. I thought there might be a rough time frame when things are usually released, like the first or last week of November or so.
>>
>>8824647
I hope you miss them again this year
>>
>>8824607
Same. AP has gotten so fucking boring for me lately, and the way they're turning out prints, many of which lack the cuteness and charm of the older ones (imo), makes me feel like they're just turning into a greedy cash machine with no soul. I wish they'd at least reuse some of their older cuts and get over the whole crosses/overskirt thing already.
I miss shyness bear and cotton dresses.
>>
>>8824636
>>8824647
hoenstly that's no excuse, i'm swamped too during nov/dec (to the point where i work so much unpaid OT i don't even sleep at night for weeks at a time), but i've never missed my fukus. you already know to expect them around this time, so you should just keep your eye out- no one really knows much more beyond this time frame.

i personally felt like they eere a huge disappointment this year anyways, i regret wasting my time on them. i'll probably skip next year so i can get hyped again.
>>
>>8824647
>>8824636

2016 bags came out Nov-Dec 2015.

2017 bags will come out Nov-Dec 2016. Mark your calender for Nov-Dec 2016.

There will not be a one-week mark. They aren't that predictable.
>>

Yeah but if they keep doing releases i'm hoping for a Mercator Antique Shop, but that's asking the gods too much.

I'm so bored. There is no drama, no new releases that I am interested in and no meet for another month...

I use lulls in lolita activity to (re)read old drama (I don't like drama in my own life, but seeing other people's stupid drama is entertaining), catch up on the blogs I read, craft, and do other general life stuff, like reading and watching movies/tv.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the dress on the far right in the last clip whip magic? Is AP planning on rereleasing that monstrosity? Cause there is a mile long list of prints they should rerelease and whip fucking magic is definitely not on it.
>>

Basically what I think about it. Not very impressed with it but at least her coord is pretty cute (though I will admit that I laughed when I saw *the socks*)
>>
>>8824781
It's definitely whip magic, but the strawberry print is also an older print, so maybe they were just using it to "show their roots"? I swear to god, if they re-release that instead of other things...

I can't vouch for Strawberry Millefeuille or Whip Magic, but the Memorial Cake looks exactly like this dress:
http://marietuonetar.blogspot.my/2015/07/discover-japan-new-shop-opening.html

which is the old runway dress, not a new design. So there's hope that those shots aren't actually upcoming designs but just AP showing off their accumulated made-for-runway collection. I think. I hope.

Anyway, for girls who haven't seen them. I remember this dress because this runway of high fashion models doing lolita was rather striking:

Has anyone communicated with Haenuli recently within the last 2-3 days and gotten a response back? I know on their Facebook page they said they were a bit behind with emails. I sent them a message on the 16th and then another one on the 19th. I don't want to keep bothering them with tons of emails if they're already bogged down but I'm a little nervous as I was in a payment plan and I sent them my remaining payment so I would really like to just have confirmation that they actually got it. How much longer should I wait before trying to contact them again and should I send another email or try contacting them elsewhere (like facebook)?

I need help gulls, recently about 4 months I have been on birth control which caused my bust to grow and now sadly, my jsk doesn't fit anymore.

What would be better in terms of modding this dress, using the waist ties to add room on the sides or add a extra panel on the back with either waist ties or a similar colored fabric? And I know some people just cut the elastics on the back of dresses with panels but how does that help when trying to add room?
>>
>>8825407
Chill, they're always hyper busy. As long as you have confirmation through PayPal that you sent it (which would be attached to the invoice they sent you) then you're fine. They notoriously ship late. I'm general add like 2 weeks to the expected ship time frame and that's more accurate.
>>
>>8825414
Cutting the elastic works when the elastic is too short for the fabric (fully stretched = fabric still bunched up). At most it gets you a cm or two.

Add to the sides. Otherwise the side seams shift forwards too much
>>
>>8824900
it's an ott baby op, but one of the less popular ones i'd say
i wouldn't pay more than 800 for it but if someone was in a bid war, even with five bids i can see it reaching that price easily
doesn't mean it's the actual going rate for that dress though, this could be a one time thing for someone to get a dream dress
>>
>>8825418
Okay, I didn't know that lol. I don't even know when they're shipping my stuff, I ordered the enchanted fawn release and that's why I'm antsy to get a response back, just because I'd like to have confirmation that my order is complete from them directly and an idea of when they will at least start to ship orders.

It's not like I think my payment failed or what I won't get my items, but I think we all like to get confirmation from a brand about our order. If they're just busy then that's fine, I was asking because this happened to me once before where I had to send them a second email but they responded to the second one very quickly, I just wasn't sure if maybe they had an extra hold up or something (like I know one time they were slow responding to people because the both of them were taking care of family matters) that was delaying their response time.

Good News: I FINALLY managed to get a black Triple Fortune bonnet. Yay!!!! (Pictured)

Bad News: I'm absolutely terrified of getting makeup on it, given that I have no idea who I would go about cleaning it. I have makeup sealing spray and powder, but I don't know if that's enough.

How do I protect my beloved bonnet from my own makeup? Going without foundation isn't really an option for me. My skin isn't the best.
>>
>>8825435
If you go to their LiveJournal page for the EF rerelease it will say when it will ship. Seeing as how the Secret Garden release is supposed to ship this month and hasn't yet you're probably going to get EF around March
>>
>>8825458
I've never gotten makeup on my bonnets...just do your makeup first and then put on the bonnet later? Remember to pin the sides with hair pins so it doesn't slide off.
Besides it's black, makeup stains won't really show. Now if it was a white bonnet on the other hand...

I love chiffon blouses and I wear them almost every day but god damn they are started to get on my bad side. They smell terrible, but as soon as I get home and change out, my underarms smell fine but the underarms on my blouse are horrifying. Usually, I notice a slight musky scent during the day as soon as I warm up, not even sweating.
Google and the /cgl/ archives says this is because the sweat is trapped in the fibers. I usually machine wash in bags with woolite then air dry. I tried soaking one of them them in half vinegar/water and one in baking soda first, wore them both over the last two days, and they both smelled fine until about noon, when it starts warming up. There was really no difference after that.
Any gulls have this problem? I love my chiffon shirts and dresses, I don't want to let them go. This is why I don't own any OPs.

Tickets go on sale for local residents on the 25th. All others go on sale for the 30th. Tickets cost HKD 490 which about $63.

facebook/events/1506428756329679/
>>
>>8825563

This one is A-line.

Bell shape has a lot of poof around the hips, and is less poofy at the bottom of the skirt, whereas A-line gradually has more poof from waist to hip. Bell pettis are only needed in lolita because of the rectangle skirts (in turn, lolita uses rectangle skirts because of border prints).

If you really have trouble telling them apart, why not just straight up ask Bunny House which ones are bell and which ones are A-line. Just tell her you're a newbie and have trouble telling them apart.

>>8825547
I've been thinking about those. Do you just stick them on your shirt? I feel like it would be really conspicuous on sheer shirts, but no harm in picking some up on ebay to try.

>>8825563
That's definitely a bell shape, it's just super poofy. Once it deflates a little, it'll look like a bell. A-lines are increasingly voluminous tiers of ruffles with the top being almost flat, and bells have evenly gathered tiers all the way down.
You can tell with almost any skirt (including pettis) whether they're bell or a-line by looking at the waist. Is there gathered fabric? It's a bell shape. Is it flat? It's A-line.

Posting from my phone so I hope the image is big enough.

The construction is solid and materials are pretty nice. I was suprised by how thick it is, definitely super warm. The only thing that us kind of cheap is the ribbon, but I think that's more because of the pattern than anything else. The beret is lined and came with sew in clips. It also has a little elastic around the inside for a more snug fit. I
Overall I'm super stoked and would definitely recommend it

I can't be the only angry fatty who's sick of how vague a term "plus size" is in lolita fashion right?

Sometimes I see something listed as plus size that fits a like 28 inch waist max, but then Haenuli got shit for not being plus-sized enough with their 40 inch waist accommodation? I feel like anyone above "normal" brand sizing is considered plus in lolita but it's such a big variation of sizing that it's impossible.
>>
>>8825624
Fuck me, Bunny House pettis are the absolute best I've had. Recommendations for an A-line petti?
>>
>>8825818
The Black Ribbon! They're super comfortable and the poof lasts forever.
>>
>>8825815
I think it mostly just has to do with how plus size starts sooner in asian sizing. I'm also a fattychan and I'm sure you've noticed this as well, how some things that might be an L or XL in the west are like an XXXL+ in asian sizing. Even the L sizes are often more like the smaller side of a medium here.

Other part is some people just have a retarded idea of what plus size is IMO. For the Haenuli situation it seems like the people who were complaining about it not being "plus sized enough" were the girls who were more like....very obese.
>>
>>8825837
Pretty much true. I can wear a L/XL in US sizes but Haenulis M fits me with room to spare.
>>

>>
>>8825818

>>
>>8825853
Yeah, Haenuli's sizing is quite generous in the first place which is why I say I think the complaints were from very large girls. It's tacky af to be so rude about something like that directly to someone that was offering larger sizing in the first place but I think the people complaining knew that they had a chance to ~be heard~ or whatever, whereas if they complain about AP not having larger sizing they don't give a shit.

>>
>>8825837
True. Personally I think the term plus-size should only be for measurements slightly larger than average or by lolita standards, larger than the average brand measurements, and the people with 40+ inch waists should just come up with a new term. Plusplusplus-size? Gaia size? Moon Goddess size? The thing is to make it sound positive and sexy, because otherwise they'll just stick with plus-size since it makes them feel smaller.

I honestly don't think Asian sizing is that much smaller when you're buying from most places, so long as you're not tall or have giant boobs.
Cheap places, like Ali/Taobao, sometimes run a lot smaller on things like sweaters and whatnot, because they're trying to penny pinch on costs.
A few brands (Jesus Diamante, Swankiss, etc.) run smaller to fit their image, which brands in the west also do.
For the most part, I wear a small in the US and a small/freesize in Japanese and Korean stuff (though sizing by s/m/l shit in general). I am not particularly small built and actually have pretty big shoulders/ribcage for my size. I am, however, short (155cm), which I think is one of the reasons things fit better.

With that said, Haneuli's sizing is fucked up, and I feel like I can't even buy their stuff anymore because it's all too big. I thought the outrage against them was so embarrassing, too.

Plus-size friendly seems like a remnant of when indie brands weren't a big thing and brands/indie didn't offer various sizes. Even a few years ago, there were only a handful of places that did custom sizing, but now a lot of taobao shops offer it, and even more indie brands offer very large sizing to accommodate (mostly) western lolitas.
>>
>>8826348
I remember goddess size was used by a j-fashion label for the clothing they made for the really big girls.
>>
>>8826374
I mean there definitely is a sizing discrepancy between sizing common in Asian countries and sizing common in the west particularly the USA. I don't mean to sound bitchy or something but if you're an S then I don't think you would notice a whole lot other than perhaps your shoulder thing. If you just compare sizes you'll find that what is an M here often is more like a L or sometimes XL in some Asian sized clothing. Like this is just average clothing too, I'm not even just talking about special jfashion brands specifically.
>>
>>8826392
Okay, then, I'll revise my statement: I don't think there is that much difference for smaller sizes. I feel like people who always go "I'm an S in the US and an L over there!!" are either tall, have large boobs/shoulders, and/or are shopping at cheap, really low quality places.
I've had to size up to an M in Japanese clothing only a few times, and that was almost always because of my bust or shoulders. I'm not talking J-fashion specific either; I lived and worked in Japan for about two years, so this is including all of my normie wear shopping as well.
Maybe not the best example, but Uniqlo sizing is pretty much exactly the same as a lot of Western shops. Earth, Music, & Ecology is really similar to Uniqlo, too, and even plenty of Jfash brands (Franche Lippee, for example) offer larger sizing that would be about the same as it is here. There is some girl in the BST selling an L-size FL dress that's like 100cm in the bust, which would be an L in the US, too.
I think a lot of people on /cgl/ forget that the clothing they're buying is frequently targeted at teens/young adults, who generally are smaller and whose brands/clothing are also smaller.
Compare the Juniors section of your local Kohl's with the Womens section.

I havent seen this brand before and Im finding very few reviews. Any guls have experience purchasing from this brand?
>>
>>8826461

>>
>>8826423
I agree 100%, it's probably because I'm short, too. I'm a 4-6 (us med) and have no trouble buying medium in Japanese or Korean brands. I think most girls are confused by vanity sizing and squeezing themselves into western clothes that are too small or made of spandex
>>
>>8826423
Specific to Uniqlo, I can tell which of my husband's t-shirts were bought in Japan & which ones came from the NYC store because the Japan ones are size L and the NYC ones are size M. So Uniqlo does bump the size on their North American stock, at least for men's clothes.
>>
>>8826503
That, and a lot of jfashioners don't actually buy expensive western clothes even though most jfashion labels count as luxury. Expensive brands are almost always smaller, go into any high end store in your country.
If someone is a medium in the cheapest stores, but then tries to buy from luxury brands overseas without seeing the clothes in person, they're going to get a shock.

>>
>>8825910
I agree completely. I also think its ridiculous to expect a 2X run for every release when there's no guarantee on the print being a hit.
People forget she's still an indie brand who has to keep actual production and material costs in mind.

Actually, bringing up Uniqlo is a good idea

UK size chart: http://www.uniqlo.com/global_images/uk/support/size/re01/graph_h1_01womens.gif
Japan size chart: http://im.uniqlo.com/images/jp/pc/img/sizeimg/graph_bodysize_uq_w.jpg

(Both are from Uniqlo online shops, you can find them if you poke around their online shop (UK and Jp respectiively))

You can actually see the bust for size S UK are almost the bust size for Japanese size M or L. The waist size for UK M seems to be L size on the Japanese site as well. You might be on to something with girls needing to size up due to bust size, though, as the UK bust size seems almost consistently one size below the Japanese site.

Probably the more surprising thing for me is seeing Japan go up to size 3XL with a max bust of 110, waist 93 while UK's max XXL is bust 108, waist 86cm. Are there more fat poor people who shop at Uniqlo in Japan or something?

(Sorry for not posting the charts together, can't do that on this device)

I agree. I've wanted many HaeNuLi pieces but I can't buy any because even their S is way too wide for me. I personally used to think of Harnuli as a chubby brand (isn't Hae herself plus-size?), I didn't e ven know they used to run smaller.
>>
>>8826592
Haenuli is really nice for tall people too. I just wish their bodices were more structured, I'm averaged sized and the fit is a bit unflattering.

How many gulls want Cinema Doll? Is there any chance enough people could be gathered to mass e-mail AP so they'll consider a rerelease? Are the Chinese lolitas interested in it at all?

Lots of questions in one post I know but it seems a lot of people are after Cinema Doll so I'm curious.

Anyone here /very short/?
I am relatively new to lolita, for a year, and even though I choose the the small size, sometimes the dresses or skirts ends at the end of my knees.

Is it okay? Have it happened to you? Any tips? I know when it gets more far than that starts to look frumpy, and I use heels and platforms for that, but I wanna hear your opinions. And also excuse my English.
>>
>>8826572
>>8826574
Interesting that bust (and to a lesser extent waist) are what seem to differ the most. Hip is pretty similar. I never noticed this at Uniqlo, but then again, I had never bought from Uniqlo in the states until after I came back. Uniqlo is good about putting measurements on tags, too, so I would usually go by those.
And yes, Uniqlo is big on offering a lot of sizes, though I don't know if there are necessarily a lot of poor, fat people shopping there. Tbh, I only saw a handful of obese people my entire time in Japan, and they weren't even that big in comparison to obese people I see every day in the states.
>>
>>8826662
Do you mean that dresses end up below your knees? As long as it doesn't make you look stumpy, that's perfectly fine (I actually prefer it that way, personally).

Yes, I meant below, my bad. A skirt arrived today and it ends below my knees, but it doesn't look frumpy at least, but I was pretty worried, I also use pettis with lots of poof so it looks "shorter", but sometimes it makes me nervous, oh well, thanks for your reply.
>>
>>8826695
I am 150 cm. I don't know if that's.. you know, extremely short? But sometimes I have that issue with dresses and skirts.
>>
>>8826698
Don't worry about it, it's perfectly acceptable. And your English is fine so don't worry about that either.
>>

I want it, and I'll be happy to email if there's enough interest to make it happen. I want it enough to buy like two of them at retail, but not enough to pay $400 for someone else's secondhands, if that makes sense.

No idea about chinese lolitas.

I'm just kind of surprised the 3XL doesn't seem to get exported much (it doesn't get imported to my local uniqlo either). Then again, the smaller sizes also seem to be available only in Japan. Maybe it's just some kind of stock control thing, they try to keep the stock variety smaller overseas to cut down on inventory costs? idk.

As for actual clothing sizes. I have to say I can't remember the last time I bought clothes with S, M or L sizes (aside from Innocent World). Almost everywhere seems to list US and UK sizes (some brands list Eu and JP sizes too), so it looks consistent since it's already converted. Well, whatever. At least now I know to look out for boob sizing in Japan, I guess?
>>
>>8824320
for some reason they really irk me when the buttons go down the skirt part of the dress? This is really cute though (buttons aside)

On an unrelated note, does anyone else think some of IW's dresses could do with a bit of lace on the bottom? Especially ones like their last coat of arms dress (can't remember it's name but it's the one with the rope that people were disappointed by), it just seems to cut off so abruptly?
>>
>>8826798
I definitely agree, the lack of lace or ruffles or any sort of detail on the hems really bothers me. I'm assuming this has something to do with IW's long petticoat-underskirts; maybe they're meant to "complete" the look, if you know what I mean. "Oh yes this dress doesn't have lace on the hem, but you can just wear this petticoat with it! It has a pretty ruffle, it'll make your dress look fancier!" Or something like that, I don't know. I don't presume to know Fujiwara's business tactics, haha.

Honestly I feel like it's more of a simplicity thing. Innocent world has been doing dresses without bottom trim for way longer than underskirts have been particularly popular. I feel like it's to give the dress a cleaner, sharper sillhouette, whereas lace trim softens the look.

I love those kinds of dresses personally, especially the older ones. But then again it's all about personal taste.

Hey gulls, I've just browsed through one-piece section of IW website. There is not a single printed dress, there are only solid color dresses slightly different from each other. WTF is going on? I guess their lucky packs will be full of this shit in a year or two.
>>
>>8826834

I've always like the simpler hems too. I love lace and frills, but I also like having the option to throw on an underskirt to dress something up, and still be able to wear it casually.

Heck, IW cuts are usually very basic too, but same thing. Makes them easier to dress down or up.
>>
>>8826927
I should start shopping IW. I've been wanting some simpler dresses to wear for the times I don't want to wear prints.
>>
>>8826927
They have quite a few printed JSKs if you like those better. These OPs seem to be selling pretty well so you probably won't find them in lucky packs.

>>8827036
>>
>>8826503
How is a 4-6 a size medium?
>>
>>8827044
Not that anon, but I've always understood plus size as beginning at size 14-16.
So, S would be roughly 0-4, M would be 4-8/10 and L/XL would be 10-14/16.
>>8826927
I really wish I had the money to pick up a couple non-print OPs.
>>
>>8826927
I remember a while back in a translation thread, there were some Japanese lolitas complaining about how brands had way too many print dress and wishing there were more simpler dresses to wear daily.

I guess IW heard somehow and are meeting the demand. To which I'm actually rather pleased with. A few solid colored simple OPs to wear when want to just wear lolita and not stick-out sounds good IMO.
>>
>>8826927
So? You are saying that like that's a bad thing kek

>>
>>8827085
They have a few floral JSKs in the sale, actually. Most colors and sizes are sold out at this point but I hope they release more floral pieces for spring.
>still salty about the re-release of Bertille Rose being limited to lucky packs only ngl
>>
>>8827066
So would girls who are L/XL not be considered plus size? I'm a 5'2 girl at 170 pounds, basically obese. But my frame is petite i guess so I can stay in those sizes, sometimes XXL and even 3X. I always thought of myself as plus size but I guess lolita really is a chubby fashion since I can find things relatively easy to wear and I even look good in it. Looking through plus size stuff tho, its all filled with massive (to the point of morbid) girls and landwhales... I don't necessarily mind but I guess I'm just chubby in these terms? A majority of these girls are way too big in comparison to me that it doesn't give me inspo for lolita coords. I just kinda wish there was a different term, like how others said before. I know marshmallow girls is a thing in japan which is another term thats being used, but it still doesn't differentiate anything if its interchangeable with plus size.
>>
>>8827109
I would say anything above L or maybe XL is plus size. Some Ls are 10-14, others are like 12-16, which is why I put L/XL for 10-14/16. Plus size is generally considered above size 14/16, so XL and above is plus.
If you're petite, you'll have the advantage of having smaller measurements overall, meaning you'll fit things better than girls who might be bigger (taller/structure wise) but less fat. I don't see why you're complaining about fitting into things, but I agree that it's hard when the terms are so wide. Still, seriously, lose some fucking weight before you do serious damage to your joints, organs, etc. You're not that far from morbid obesity yourself.
>>
>>8827118
I mean... that post said plus size generally starts at 14-16 and XL sizes are usually that so yes. SML are considered the beginning straight/standard sizes and anything beyond L (so XL and above) is plus size. If you wear XXL sometimes then yes you very much are plus size lol

Plus size is a very wide term due to how it's used so just because you aren't like a size 20+ doesn't mean you aren't. If you can find inspo from typical plus size lolitas then maybe you want to search for chubby lolitas or something
>>
>>8826927

I know this is gross and no one wants to talk about it, but I really want to get to the bottom of this issue.
Most of the google results I'm getting are talking about clothes that smell bad even after washing. I find that my clothes smell fine after washing and airdrying, but the scent only starts up again when the clothes are warmed during the day. I remember a post I saw in the archives of a lolita-washing thread saying that chiffon can seem clean until the scent is "reactivated" by body warmth, but that was just some anon so no source. A lot of the solutions I find are relating to removing the odor on clothes already worn or smelling bad after washing, but I'm convinced there's some demon in the fabric that will continue to recreate the smell even after you neutralize it with vinegar, oxyclean, whatever.
Also: I find the scent not to be the same smell I get in my cotton gym shirts. Usually that's a distinctly unpleasant smell that's harder to notice and doesn't easily occur. The smell in my chiffon shirts is more of a slightly sweet musky scent, that I didn't find too offending at first, but now I'm so hyper aware of it that it's overwhelming me.

This sound familiar to any of you? It doesn't really line up with anything google is giving me, but it does line up with the archives a little, and lolitas tend to dote on their clothes so feel like this is a good place to start my "research". I don't want to shit up the general too much, so maybe email me if you have similar experiences or struggles? I plan on recording some daily experiments over the next month or two and seeing if I can at least find the source of the problem.
>tl;dr email me if your shirts smell weird but you don't and you want to share some tips or hear any conclusions I come up with
J-fashion is very chiffon oriented lately, I'm not about to give up on this.
>>
>>8827818
I have to say I wear some chiffon blouses and haven't noticed this but now that you guys are saying it I'll have to check. However, I'm not sure if my scent will be different or not because sometimes when I sweat, the scent of my deoderant gets into the area rather than the scent of my sweat. I will check and get back to you though anon lol
>>
>>8827827
>the scent of my deoderant gets into the area rather than the scent of my sweat
same here, but with some muskiness. going to use underarm pads from now on.
>>
>>8827818

I had a blouse that stank as soon as I put it on, without me sweating into it, but it was some odd poly-cotton blouse from Bodyline, not chiffon. So this might not be the story you're looking for.

With regards to it seeming clean until my body warmth reactivated it, it seems spot on, though. The first time I wore the blouse I forgot to put on deodorant and the armpits stank up pretty strong. I washed the blouse and it seemed fine, but when I put it on again suddenly the smell was right there in my room when I'd just changed into it.

I did eventually get rid of the scent by using the strongest anti perspirant deodorant I had. Whatever was in that chemical probably managed to kill off whatever armpit bacteria was lying dormant in the blouse, I guess. It never came back either, I have worn it at least once without deodorant.

As a note about deodorants. I tend not to stink, even when hot and sweaty, but certain things can set off a stink, such as if I've neglected to shave my armpit hair or if I'm sick. I'm pretty certain some of it is caused by bacteria, as sometimes when I get stinky armpits it takes a few days of really strong, harsh anti perspirant stuff to stop stinking, and then the stink never comes back either (exactly like the blouse). But anyway, just pointing out my body chemistry might not work like everybody elses.

I guess my story isn't really helpful. Maybe other girls with chiffon blouses can step up and offer better stories.
>>
>>8827827
Yeah, I stopped wearing drugstore deodorant because the scent of breaking-down-after-a-few-hours deodorant was more unpleasant than the rare and faint smell that could occur without it. The oils also fucked up my clothes. I use a baking soda essential oil thing now, and I do get some lavender-y shirt pits but at least it's better than what it could be.
I've been wearing polyester/chiffon blouses for years, and I just started noticing this a few months ago. Not sure if it was a body chemistry change or an obsessively self concious noticing, but I hope it never happens to you!

No, this is awesome, anon! Thanks! I just said chiffon because a lot of lolitas are wearing it now.
Do you remember what kind of deodorants you were using? Did you just spray it right on the blouse? I can't exactly relate to your underarm chemistry but I think it would be a good thing to try out.
>>
>>8827544
Dream me would gank you for the navy, you can have the green. I had a dream a lolita store opened in my city and had glorious moite and other gothic pieces for under $40.

Never noticed that about drugstore deodorant.

I use crystal (the chamomile & pomegranate one, I think it was) and it's awesome, though it's more of a safety blanket as I don't really smell either. Sometimes when I'm wearing a lot of clothes and the sweaty bacteria gets really trapped in there I can smell it, but only faintly and only if I bury my face into my armpit or something.

My feet, on the other hand...

>>8827871 here.

The anti perspirant one is a white bullet-shaped bottle from Rexona. I can't remember which one of the white bottles it is, though, only that it's a white bottle with a white cap.
(My normal one is a non-anti-perspirant deodorant, if it matters. There's rumours that anti-perspirant stuff can mess with your body chemistry so I normally avoid them).

It's a roll-on, so I dabbed some of the liquid into the armpit area (the liquid is clear). Then I rolled a lot onto my own armpit and wore the blouse for half a day, then washed it like normal. That's about it.

thanks anon, will look into this.

For me, I used to have really bad B.O. as 7 year old until I found a really good deoderant that works with my body. But before that, I would go to a private school where we had to wear white shirts everyday and my arms would stain my shirts into a weird purple color and the smell will never leave even when washed, bleached, used oxyclean on the area, and every other method used to remove sweat, musk, and shit. I would always be so embarrassed to go to school since everyone would point it out and the smell would never leave. Nowadays I just buy Arm and Hammers baking soda deoderant and go with it since it leaves no stains but after a really long day, my blouses still get a bit sweat even though now I don't smell like B.O. But to this day, I wonder why all my shirts and blouses would get a heavy and deep musky/smelly purple stain where my armpits are.

I know for people who sweat a lot go through hell. My boyfriend sweats like crazy even after taking a shower and when using chiffon like shirts or cotton shirts. Like this clothes gets soaked in sweat but doesn't smell bad until you go really hella close. I know one way to fight really bad sweat is to do botox injections on your arm pits to tighten the sweat glands there and prevent extreme sweating and it usually stops it completely or makes it barely noticable in that area. My bf did three months of treatment for this and it was a miracle but you have to do a lot of sessions though.

>know one way to fight really bad sweat is to do botox injections on your arm pits
my armpits fully retracted into my body when i read this.

i get botox for migraine treatment and fuck those needles, man

Freeze all secondhand blouses in a ziplock bag for a few days, it will kill bacteria.

Chiffon is a very fine material and picks up musk very easily. It doesn't help that a lot of them need to be washed delicately, therefore you don't wash them like your normal clothes.

I actually wash my blouses on delicate and then freeze them after drying because I eat a lot of garlic/onion -- that produces a sweet smell in both your sweat and your vag, as a heads up.

I can't post feedback on lacemarket.Anyone else got the problem?

Exactly my experience down to the private school. Teachers would gossip about me behind my back. I bathed and made sure my shirts were fresh every day but the compulsory sweaters were $80 each so I couldn't afford one for every day. It didn't help that we weren't given any time to shower before/after gym. If it was before lunch we would just miss our cafeteria timeslot in the time it took to change/make it to the other end of the campus/queue up then just go hungry. If it was in the middle of the day we would always get detention for being 5 minutes late to the next class. If we went off-site, it'd take an hour to drive there for 20 minutes of class, then we'd have 10 minutes to change on our return or we'd miss the school bus home (nearly 2 hours journey) and that was WITHOUT taking time to shower/dry off/moisturise skin...

I've tried every deoderant out there but any kind of emotional arousal causes hot flashes. I could think about something interesting I saw on TV then suddenly be hot all over, get this horrible prickling feeling all over my back (I have chronic urticaria) and be dripping with sweat. Even eating acidic food induces this reaction, making my face flush/sweat. My doctor just gave me a wikipedia printout on hyperhidrosis, which I'd already read, then told me to just deal with it.

Thankyou anons for mentioning freezing blouses as that might help with ingrained, stale sweat if not the fresher stuff.

I don't really follow AP but is it normal for them to do so many special set releases?
>>
>>8827992

Not the person asking, but this is pretty cool stuff I've never heard of before. Thanks, anon.
>>
>>8828061

This is simultaneously super fug and yet I love that colour.

Will AP ever give us straight up Choco Rosette MTO
>>
>>8828076
I actually learned it from a tutorial from getting rid of stinky shoes! I've noticed that fine fabrics retain smells because of delicate washing and so I tested out what to do. The biggest thing is making sure your items are 100% dry and sealed before freezing and that they are dried after, because water damage is obviously not ideal when all you want to do is get rid of a bit of smell.

Glad that you think it's a decent tip. I didn't know so many gulls had the same issue with warm blouses, but I think they heat up bacteria that are still alive and thus cause them to multiple, especially if you add the dampness that comes from underarms or just deodorant. Damp + warm + darker than normal = bacteria breeding grounds. Freezing after washing is the only way I've managed to beat it.

They usually do a few for La Foret's Grand Bazaar, but I feel like they're releasing more than usual.
>>
>>8828077
I think they probably will eventually. I hope they add this colorway if they do, it's straight up beautiful.
>>
>>8827259
Thanks for clarifying Anon, I know I shouldn't think too much about it, since the other Anon said there is a lot of girls in the opposite situation, and like I said before I felt a little "weird" because I guess I am used to seeing taller models with the items, my bad.
>>
>>8828140
yeah dude I feel that, I sometimes wish dresses would be shorter on me, because all I see is western people wearing lolita. You just gotta remind yourself that misako would shake her head over anything above the knees showing.
>>
Are offbrand cardigans okay for more simple coords? I found a few at the thrift store that I'm pretty sure are loliable but I just wanted to check.
>>
>>8828252
I don't really like them, but I got a few because other people do. It's comfy, I'd recommend it
>>
>>8828252
Cardigans from normie stores tend to be too long, as they end at the hips. You want stuff that ends at the waist.
>>
Does the LaForet grand Bazaar happen around the same time every year?
>>
>>8828061
Hey, weren't people dying for this in mint?
>>
>>8828063
I really like this cut, but I wish it'd been a Chess Emblem MTO instead of British Bear.
>>
>>8827908
I have dreams like this all the time and I'm always so disappointed after I wake up and realize nothing I "bought" is actually in my closet.
>>
>>8828553
Me too, anon..
>>
>>8828553
Agreed, that would've been nice. I have a feeling it'll be really sought after in the future too.
>>
>>8828270
This can be fixed if you buy cardigans from normie stores with a twee/vintage/traditional aesthetic. Just look for places that sell a lot of full skirts.
>>
>>8828252
Do they fit over a dress with a petti? The main problem with regular cardigans is that they tend to be quite long and tube-shaped and narrow at the hem. For lolita you want something that either ends at the waist or flares out, and also something with waist definition. You can wear a regular long tube-y cardigan open over a lolita dress but you'll lose the silhouette and risk looking frumpy.
>>
>>8828580
Do you have any specific suggestions of such places?
>>
>>8828252
it depends some are some aren't. I found a source for cardigans that work in lolita locally, after some trail and error, so now I just buy from there. You'll need to shop around and be aware you'll be subject to whatever colours are currently trending in Normie fashion.
>>
>>8828666
Dangerfield, if you live in Australia. Though I think they ship overseas too.

They talk about it in the otome thread all the time.

Does anyone know what fonts some brands use? I've been looking for a while since I wanted to use the AP font for an image.

>Chocolate rosette sold out :'(

Shit I actually wanted this one
>>
>>8828815
Don't worry. They're probably take that as a sign that Chocolate Rosette needs a MTO with mint included.
>>
>>8828823
phone pls, *they'll
>>
>>8827962
That sounds like a nightmare, but I'm glad you've figured it out! Baking soda is definitely cool for keeping the sharp unpleasant scents at bay.
>>8827992
>>8828082
I heard about this before, but I forgot until now, thank you, anon! I will definitely try this now. I eat a lot of onion too, come to think of it.

Anyone know of a cheap SS for mercari and/or fril? The one I use now is nice but I'm getting tired of his fees.
>>
What the fuck is with Chibi Tenshi crazily scalping the mint CR jsk on LM?
Honestly it makes me lose a lot of respect for her. I could understand auctioning it and having it go high, but setting a starting price of like 2-3x the cost of what she just bought it for is fucking low.
>>
>>8829209
is that even her though? I thought her LM account was Tenshi Shop
>>
>>8829209
Wow fuck that, I'm moving to Japan and becoming a ss, apparently it's the only way I'll ever get the dresses I want
>>
>>8829218
her LM account is Tenshi Shop.
idek where the fuck anon got that that is CT from.
anon are you high?
>>
>>8829261
adding that if you check that seller's other feedback link the LJ it links to is also not CT's.
>>
>>8829240
stop being a cheap poorfag
also stop believing everything you read
>>
>>8824668
that and special sets being unavailable online, and scalpers increasing. also, a lot of the stuff is less versatile, or too hard to wear
>for 650 dollars you can have the mint chocolate rosette special set!
I actually hope oo jia makes a replica just to spite AP's cash machine attitude
>>
>>8828061
damn I'm salty about all the scalping that's happening/gonna happen cause I really want this. oh well.
>>
>>8827908
I had a dream once IW opened a pop up in my local mall and I bought Grazia Crown and Lotta for less than $100. The best part was dreaming I was trying things on though.
>>
>>8829439
I had a dream where I was given 100k magically took a plane trip to Tokyo, bought *everything* inside an AP shop, and then flew home to try things on (all in the same afternoon). It was the best, and I was genuinely pissed when I woke up.
>>
>>8825419
Ohh I see now, makes sense. And okay I will do it from the sides! I didn't know that the side seams can shift forward.

>>8827512
And okay! Thanks for your suggestion! I like my waist ties like hell but no one can ever tie them for me so might as well give them a purpose now.
>>
>>8827965
>i get botox for migraine treatment and fuck those needles, man

I know this is OT but how does that work?

And thank you all for the arm pit discussions, I learned a lot and made me feel better about myself. Looks like I will freeze all of my blouses from now on.
