Well just reposting from the taobao thread because I still haven't had any luck.
I'm looking for a boxy/shapeless blazer for nanchatte. The ones I found through the nanchatte google sheet have mixed reviewes. For $40, apparently the two I was looking at both wrinkle easily. For the cheaper blazers, the phrase "you get what you pay for" comes up a lot for the $20 ones.
I don't mind blowing decent money on this, I just want options before forking over $250 to conomi.
Also, I'm ordering my first, long skirt from taobao. I'm so excited.

They carry used gakuran too. A lot are missing buttons, but you can buy replacements elsewhere.

Yeah $100.00 is standard just for the top. Most sites tell you nice pants can be purchased to match from anywhere. The hats depending on district range from 60-100. If price is an issue or you want it for a throw away cosplay try bodyline.

When it comes to blazers, I think you can always go to a thrift shop and find something decent.
Blazers are easy to find, gakuran tops aren't.

For school look, open gakuran jacket with white or red tshirt under.
The pants are called nikkabokka (ニッカボッカ). Easy to find from a Japanese construction worker's clothing store and buy with shopping service.
Nowadays yanki are usually a bit tan + have some sort of brown hair styled just spiked up. No real specific style but at least showing the hair line. If you want to go all out as the animu version then get working on your pompadour game. Generic black or white shoes. Medical facemask will help if you dont look intimidating, and try shaping your brows. A lot of them shave their brows in a way to make them look constantly pissed.

Pair with the pants mentioned + construction worker boots.
Wrap a white bandage around your torso. It'll look kind of lame if the jacket isn't embroidered though.
There's a few cool poses you can do for photos but my favorite is the "I'm taking a shit" squat.

Try finding all the local thift stores when you go out of town. Even if it's just the next town over, when you are there for another reason remember to hit up the Goodwill, Salvation Army, and the Value Village.
Every store reflects the community they serve. If you go to the rich part of town they have better things. Hell I went to the rich part of town and found an expensive girl's riding habit with helmet for under $30.
